  1. "Don't pay any attention to that red line down the middle............."
  2. Northsore??? Oh, you mean Northshore. Ok, I'll stay. As you get a little older you'll probably begin to realize that you eventually reach a point where you have to do what you feel is best for your family. Even if that means moving from where you've lived all of your life. BTW, I lived in Orleans Parish from 1953 thru 1996. The first two homes I bought were there. When asked, I told people I lived in New Orleans. I didn't say "Gulf Coast". I had nothing to hide. Are you not proud of where you live? Or do you actually live in New Orleans?
  3. Those people had options. The option was to depend on themselves, and not on government. But that of course goes against everything they're accustomed to. They've been taught to depend on government for everything, for all of their lives. Please provide your source for your statement concerning the National Guard "pulling you off the streets at gunpoint". I know many that served in the Guard here during Katrina, and I know better. I lived in New Orleans until 1996. Marc Morial told me to leave, and I obeyed. I then lived in Metairie thru Katrina. Aaron Broussard then convinced me to leave due to his utter ignorance. "Mr. Smug"................ I don't recall calling anyone names, why don't you grow up?
  4. Yeah, all of the fine upstanding citizens that inhabited the Superdome during Katrina would certainly make excellent cruise ship passengers........................ [bs] [bs] [bs]
  5. I agree with RichGuy. I use an RC7 with my RF5's and it sounds perfect. I had an RC35 with the RF5's up until about 4 years ago. The RC7 is far superior. You must have a calibration issue.
  6. All Evacuee's FYI.................... New Orleans WDSU-TV Channel 6 hurricane Gustav coverage is available real-time Nationwide on Direct-TV channel 361. So if you have access to Direct-TV where you are, you can watch local storm coverage. [H]
  7. I use two 12VDC fans wired in series, so each runs at ~6VDC. They are powered by a wall wart supply that is plugged into the ac outlet on the back of my receiver. They turn on when I power up the receiver. The fan assembly simply sit on top of my receiver in the cabinet. Very quiet............ The picture is SUPPOSED to show the two fans assembled together. I don't know why it doesn't. If you save the picture, then look at it, you can see the whole assembly.
  8. A ChannelMaster 4228 should work well for you, as long as all of your stations are UHF and plan to remain so after Feb 19th. Be aware that many digital stations currently on UHF (and having their analog counterparts on VHF) will move to their respective VHF channels after the analog shutdown takes place. At that time you may need a VHF capable antenna also. Although the 4228 is a UHF antenna, it works acceptably for the higher VHF channels also. Since your stations are located north and south of you, you will likely need an antenna rotor as well.
  9. I use RF5's and and RC7 up front, with RB75's on the sides and rears. It sounds fantastic! []
  10. Yes, Joshua did win. The order of elimination in the season finale was Courtney, then Katee, then Twitch.
  11. Jay - Your link doesn't work. Are you buying or selling? I was just thinking this morning of maybe buying a pair. Local is always best....
  12. Yeah, and Bose !!! Did you even read any of the articles ??? You can't get Klipschorn sound from a Bose cube, and you can't get the sound of one of these chambers from electronics.
  13. Are you sure? Did you see the CBS report? This is a reverb room (like a cave) that the sound was piped in to to physically reflect off the wall, then be picked up by microphones and sent back to the studio. This was not a spring loaded or other type of electronic reverb. I wish I could find the video online. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/jul/03/news.culture1
  14. I saw this report on the CBS news this morning. Also, Studio In the Country in Bogalusa, LA has a similar echo chamber. However the chamber at Bogalusa is an above-ground concrete stucture, but set up the same way as the one a Capitol in the CBS report. I've been inside the chamber at Studio in the Country. For Kansas fans, this is the studio where many of their albums were recorded. Edit: Too bad there's no video link to the CBS report. It was very interesting to see . . .
  15. The answer to the question posed is obvious. However, posting the answer will get the thread removed.
  16. But it is no larger than the one in the RB75 or RC7, correct???
  17. Could we see $8/gallon this hurricane season? [au] http://www.wwltv.com/topstories/stories/wwl060208tpfourchon.55cfb16f.html
  18. But what do you do with the turkey after the bacon is ready? []
  19. I have four RB75's in my system. I use Sanus Steel Foundations stands (SF22b) for the side surrounds and (SF26b) for the rears. The stands work out quite nicely. The RB75's attach firmly to the stands with the mounting hole in the bottom of each speaker, and the stand/speaker combination is very stable. I ordered directly from the Sanus website and paid list price, but the shipping was very inexpensive.
  20. Sale pending on my pair of white RS35's . . . SOLD
  21. I have a pair of white RS35's that have been sitting unused for the past 3 years. Do you have any interest in those?
  22. You are taking the wrong approach. You need to use a high frequency, not low frequency. Try something like this .............. http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Military_heat_ray_gun_zaps_60_0229.html

It doesn't appear to me that these Cornwalls are a matched pair. The woofers and midrange horns look different.
  24. http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=10770 This is what I used. Yes it's on the expensive side, and I normally would just recommend plain old Home Depot wire. But if you need flat wire to go under carpet, this stuff is great. And you can attach it directly to your speakers or other equipment without having to use some type of terminal blocks or other adaptors to transition to "normal" wire, as you would when using those flat foil-type cables. I have 200 feet of this Monster cable in my family room . . .
