  1. ......and unfortunately, I am one of the ones out here wandering around, all the while wondering what the heck you guys are talking about.............I read the words, but i just start mumbling more to myself......
  2. yeah, Fish has a good idea going...........and because you are such a nice guy, and "blood", you are willing to let him save all those moving costs, storage costs,............and when you relieve him of that old "junk" and take it to a tech to get it made "safe", you can tell him you will even foot one-half of the bill.
  3. my 16 yr old son thought it was kinda funny. i thought it was incredibly dumb, but i went to high school in the late 60's so whadda i know.......... IMHO, if you are 45plus, look elsewhere for entertainment than this flick. jmo, your opinion may vary, etc
  4. Guys, this is a great read, and nice to put some faces with the monikers. I too thought Andy was portly and a redhead...........but now i have to figure out who Gorgg is ( I don't get out much,eh?). Nice of you all to share your experiences with the rest of the forum family. Best to all, patrick
  5. Gents, i appreciate the replies...............particularly since i wear the progressives too. thanks, patrick
  6. ya just gotta love the eclectic senses of humor here on the forum..............y'all put a smile on my face, and for that i thank you
  7. if you think your proud now, just wait until the 4 or 5 month mark when you come home from work, your eyes meet and you KNOW that she recognizes you! At that point the hook is set, and for the next ten years she will wrap you around her little finger (all good). When you KNOW that she recognizes you as you, it is all over (still good), for at that point you are no longer in control--despite what you think--- i think they call it feminine wiles. 13ish, and you are wondering who this kid is and where did she come from....did she really say that to me?....then boys start calling, honking and hanging around.......then she gets the car keys, doesn't have time to talk to you (but actually they do listen, rolling their eyes all the while)then off to college and then, when they come back they start to appreciate you again.............we call it life, but some times seem easier than others. hang in there, it is a helluva ride. enjoy her all you can...and her mom as well. despite some of the things that may happen, she will fulfill you in ways you can't even imagine at this point. daddy's little girl, so sweet. my first four were girls and i wouldn't trade anyone of them for anything, and there isn't anything i wouldn't do to help them, protect them ,care for them, help them grow into their own person, etc. all the best, patrick
  8. i searched for viewing height, viewing elevation, screen height, etc and got zip...........but i know i have seen it discussed here.....i think, but can't remember the magic words. At least i tried, eh? question: getting a 50 inch panasonic plasma (well , my friend is but i got volunteered to help install it).... my recollection is that viewing height should be calculated when sitting, and the eyes should be at the level of the line dividing the top third and middle third of the screen, in other words, eye level should be somewhat above the half way point. am i close or am i so far off that i am looking out of my belly button again?? thankyou in advance. patrick
  9. Quit your gripin'........ya taint even to middle age until you get the AARP card........and for me that came a few years back
  10. .....and the apparent shill has one feedback, and that is for a pair of black la scalas he purportedly purchased out of texas last week for $1000. say, how many pair of non-matching la scalas does a guy need (or have room for)? tommy trojan ain't the only cynic out there.
  11. ..............of course, this doesn't mean that the seller won't extend to you a "second chance" offer..............hehehe
  12. Mate, good to have ya with us.......but referring to Pink Floyd as "older" music may grate on the nerves of some of us who are still young, virile, vibrant.............and possessed of a strong sense of denial again, welcome and enjoy the journey.
  13. ...........and i thought i had problems with the WAF, geezzzzzzzzzzzz
  14. 'twould seem that grass grows quicker................and old women, ah, well...., ah ..drive faster, yeah that's it, drive faster.................and you thought i was gonna throw in some sexual innuendo??? nah, not me.............

  16. I am impressed with what different people see in the ad and photo ...just proves the old point that 8, 10 or 12 eyes are better than two!
  17. Fini, re the link info: thanks, mucho appreciated. re FedEx: isn't that the way it always seems to happen?
  18. ebay auction for B style, oiled oak k-horns in florida, somewhat of a sleeper because listed as "floor" speakers. Described as KB-OO-LF. Can't (don't know how, yet) do hot link, but see # 5744009623. Opening and current price, with one bid, is $999.99 Good luck to the Floridians amongst us. I am not connected to these no way, no how, no etc. Just happened to see them, noticed three day auction, good price but wrong coast
  19. Mike, congrats. You are understandably proud and supportive, which speaks well for both of you and your marriage.
  20. thanks for the info. I am told that the x-overs are AK-2's. So would i also be sending money to Dean or Al K ????????????
  21. howdy, i am talking to a guy re 89 (serial numbers start 89...)khorns and he says the codes are KB_WO_HF, which i understand to mean B style with the neck (GOOD), walnut oiled (also good), but what does the HF mean?????????? what type x-overs should these have............and would these have been from the darker period of khorn production ( i have been looking for '76's which, if i got, would perhaps entitle me to join the secret society) ......and yes, i know that any khorn is better than no khorn.....thanks, as always, patrick
  22. ....although he responded, he was not responsive to the questions posed. and as to his handle, i suppose it could be something like billiards,.............but considering his perceived "flakiness" , one just has to ask: didn't the comedian john belushi (sp?) die from an eightball overdose??????
  23. Greg, LMAO.......now if i could just get my wife to feel the same way.....after 26 years of wedded bliss you would think she would have to love me just as i am........yet i always sense she is trying to change ("improve") me............................hey, at least i get the warm fuzzies here!!!!!!
  24. Looking at a pair of CW's in yorelans (New Orleans) but would have to ship to Calif.........just toying with idea now, but would apreciate it if anyone has suggestions other than vault and forward air. patrick
