Kelly : I read an article in some HT mag not so long ago that basicly said entry level players in todays market equate to player costing thousands of dollars 10 years ago. I firmly believe this myself I bought a toshiba SD-V290 combination DVD / VHS player from wall-mart just after christmas , This thing was so cheap thay almost had to pay me to carry it out the door . lol Bloody thing plays everybit as good as my ________ $$$$$ player . My concern was with grounding the tailboard of that center to your reflective cabinet. This is the first place trouble will arise , sounds like you have everything built like a tank so i hope this is a non-issue. My school of thought with most any speaker array has always been grounding and isolation, sandbagging was always my biggest experiments. I was raised in the camp of not allowing the cabinet to resonate any more than possible. Not saying my point of view is correct or any better than others, but i always look for unwanted vibration sources. BTW : Nice looking set up .

Welcome to the forum mike . I'm sure AL will find this thread and defend his cross over design. If not your sure to find the proper help here , some of the more die hards hang out in 2-channel so if your post goes un-noticed down here try it up there . Are you max'd out of range adjustment on your EQ for the corns ? I'd think you should have enough boost there to shape the signal to blend well enough with the k's .

Theres lots of room down in the 2-channel aragon area , total of 51 wooping posts down there. Good place to turn into the new political " this is my point of view " ( as if anyone else gives a crap ) area .

Hey Q-man how are you going to anchor the k-horn ? I guess if your using it as a center for HT the volume levels in the bass bin will not be that great to consider vibration troubles. Just with a quick look at what your up too one would think a k-horn mounted side-way could possibly rattle the crap out of that whole platform setup you've got there . Multi channel CD formats might give enough center information to have these concerns, Just wondering what your thought are on this? On the LoadedTunes ammonia distressing finish topic , i've seen this finish in show homes and it's all the rage right now.

Intresting but subjective to say the least, there are dozens of approachs all of which yeild the same results. First off starting with the ISO wall system so the room can float and not flutter under EXTREME 20hz bass. I`ve been in rooms built like this and it`s almost impossible to find a subwoofer that can out perform the room. 95% of home HT rooms cannot handle the performace of a single sub little own 2 firing out of phase. 2 schools of thought dominate this topic , first is the camp that believes in building the room like a giant sponge and second that deal with reflection and absorbtion. Both work if done properly , this is the hard part .

Why not start at the begining and build a generator . Show how passing a conductor thru a magnetic field induces a voltage . This is where it all starts , build a hand crank generator and crank a few volts thru your teacher. I did this in high school and scared my science teach so bad he gave me an A . Easy as pie to build fun as hell to play with , in my power engineering classes we had to build both gens and alts that ran for 30 seconds without burning up. Everyone should learn the principle of where electricity comes from and how it`s produced. Instead of just pluging stuff into an outlet and watching it work.
