  1. Didn't need to - he was a KHorn man.
  2. Not to rain on your parade but I have heard "through the grapevine" that everyone who has made a positive comment in this thread receives a free pair, first production run of the Flll. No need to comment until "rumor" is confirmed but I for one am very excited with the generous offer from Hope. (Hold mine in Hope, I'll arrange pickup, thanks).
  3. Most of us here are Heritage lovers and owners, grew up cutting our audio teeth with the "big Five". But corporate Klipsch using the Heritage moniker is certainly their perogitive and they can use the historical significance as they see fit and for some on the forum to get their panties in a bunch does no good. They need to capitalize on the reputation of Heritage as I am sure these new products came at great investment. OR, Klipsch parent Voxx could see no reason for future investment in hi end consumer hifi, concentrate on Best Buy mass market crap made in China and keep Mr. Bonehead busy with commercial installations only. Seems the Heritage trade off is worth the hurt feelings.
  4. Just read the entire post. "Keep the moderating needs to a minimum". Say what - you need to earn the big $$$ they pay you.
  5. ^^^^^ just heard the Chiefs/Steelers game has been delayed until Sunday evening, the ice storm I spoke about earlier. Time - check your local listings. The city has nearly shut down and nothing on radar yet! But dammit, we are ready!!!

    RB-5 ii

We had a couple guys in our warehouse that moonlighted at FedEx ground for a couple years. Some horror stories there. Packages falling from the back of semi to the pavement, a truck pulling out not knowing a package had fallen under the wheels, that's never good!! I consider myself quite lucky in general. And I pack for the worst circumstance, some people have no idea how to or what pack with. A layer of bubble wrap around a sixty pound amp ain't gonna cut it.

Yep, my first attempt at RB75's ended with a driver snapped off of the plastic horn. Hearing big rattling things inside a speaker cab is never a good sign. I've been extremely lucky over the years with receiving/shipping lots of gear. I hold my breath every time I ship, particularly big, heavy stuff. Ironically the bigger heavier gear is less likely for damage as they can't be thrown as easily, or as far. Document how items are packed for future claims and the same as they arrive. Sorry to hear - good luck.
  8. Love the Starbucks comments Diz. Drink plenty of coffee at home, rarely buy it out, but when I traveled and had to get airport coffee I looked anywhere other than 'Bucks. For a black coffee drinker their menu is like another language, one I have zero interest in learning. And then I ask for a black coffee, medium size - they look at me like I just dropped in from Mars. "Black coffee? What kind of black coffee? Plain"!!!!??? I don't care to be judged when all I want is a cup of f'in hot coffee; yeah MickeyD's will do nicely.
  9. True - I think we have all been there in some way, shape or form. Even now when I think my rig sounds as good as ever I stil scour the audio sites several times a day, out of habit? or still looking at the next level ^ . I'm nearly ready to pull the trigger on a SS monoblocks that I do not need but think I need a SS option at hand. Yeah, I know - back away from the keyboard, loose my PPal password, easier said than done. Through all this, it's still fun and that's what really matters, and its legal and harmless. Got to run - I've got monoblocks to buy !!!
  10. ALERT ALERT / MinerMark Drama Queens are out in Force - Ice Storm this weekendin KC. Stock up on everything you already have in stck, just in case. Dont think about leaving your house, hunker down and prepare for the worst. Power outages predictated. But for added reassurance the salt barn report has just been aired. Already resting easier plus I've got a pound of Morton's in the pantry - one can't be toooo careful.
  11. Living in KC, although my interest in the Chiefs have dwindled over the years( season tickets in the Montana, Marcus Allen days) the Chiefs can look damn good yet their offense can sometimes leave you scratching your head. And in living here we are in a winter storm watch over the weekend with ice and freezing rain, no snow amount mentioned. This would certainly effect any passing game for both and KC's running game leaves a lot to be desired. Either way it should be interesting. Rothlesburger ankle injury is nothing more than ploy he has played numerous times in the past. The guys a horse and if he has any pain it will be horse tranquilizers that take the edge off.
  12. Ya know Miner I have been retired for a couple years myself but you seem to have it down pat. Several naps a day, a drink here and there, you're awakened from the mid-morning nap to the smell of bacon? My God man you got it goin' on! You don't happen to have a spare retirement bungalow on site do you?! And a fan to blow the aroma of bacon as my alarm clock!?
  13. He's had them listed for a while, started at $12,999. Looks to be gettin' down to business now --
  14. Thats a lot of snow. So, which pole do you live - north or south?
  15. Yes, but with his eyes open, fully open --
  16. Being born and then Raised in Jersey are two different things. Born there alone leaves a lot of open questions - raised there would answer most all others!
  17. Texans have a great defense, if Osweiler? can have any kind of game they Could give NE a run for their money. This is one of those games that could fool a lot of people or just be down right ugly. For viewing sake hope for the former.
  18. You really think the Pats will need to rely on a pick play to beat the Texans? Really --- only if Tommy hasn't eaten his daily quota of kale sandwiches!?
  19. ^^^^^ Tubes are able to do this, in the right configuration. Maynard just specializes in low power single ended amps, that's what he enjoys listening to. But you may well be shocked at the pressure levels lower powered tube amps are capable of, say 6-10 watts. With Klipsch horns of course ----
  20. Jimbo - I had to check to see if what stated was true and it is, sort of. I don't see where they currently carry Mcintosh but I know for a fact that a small Mc dealer/repair center in my area gave up the line when BB/Magnolia got the line, maybe 2-3 years ago. I do see where they carry the hi-end B&W Diamonds at $20K+ and $3-4K Denon and Arcam A/V processors. But the BB has to have a Magnolia showroom to see these lines. There are a couple in my area (that I never visit).
  21. I heard this amp at Rodney's but thought it played with Forte? Regardless it sounded damn nice even in that not so friendly acoustic setting. Matter of fact I thought it sounded very good and compared very well with the Dennis Had amp I brought at probably 3 times the power. If I didn't have so damn many tube amps I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. Hell, I still might!!
  22. Hey, put your dibs on those, claim "B" stock. Be the first to have a pair in your home. It's on the back anyway.
  23. Many BB's have their Magnolia stores that handled the higher end and I believe had the Palladiums. And Mcintosh.
  24. With this more "traditional" speaker configuration, Forte lll, what has marketing targeted as the proposed buyer for this speaker? And other than online direct from Klipsch which type of retailer will reach this proposed market? The Best Buy type retailer or what's left of the traditional brick/mortar hifi stores? Chief, when you undertake a consumer product like the Flll are you developing at the request from marketing or do you design then approach marketing with "look what I have here". Or as I suspect a team collaboration from the very early stages of development? Anxious to hear these in Hope ---
  25. Having never experienced the flu I shy'd away from flu shots until my doc convinced me last year. Last year, this year no after affects whatsoever.
