  15. The way that I find the high DR discs is to go to the DR Rating website, type in the name of the disc or artist of interest, then look for the date of release from the list of discs presented, then I open up each record of that disc title for the year of release, looking at the disc number. It usually takes a few seconds, start to finish, to find the disc that I'm looking at and I can see if there are any other discs with higher DR ratings, which I always go for as long as I don't see a lot of clipping in the tracks listed (if the track names and individual ratings are listed in the comments section. Chris Interesting. . Thanks for sharing.
  16. you may have a really good point... I pluged both amps into the same wall outlet, different sockets... I may try a seperate wall outlet for the left and right... but really, 2 channel sound(both digital and analog) is so good right now.
  17. yes... indeed bass is, how shall I say it, more controlled. on wall power, bass seemed more bloated and unfocused. there is no shortage of bass on surge protector, it's just crisper and cleaner... but you are correct, slightly less of it. I have readjusted my EQ very slightly to compensate.
  18. I just did a day long A/B with my monoblocks plugged directly into two seperat outlets, and them plugged into to high output slots on my panamax 5400m. Despite what bel canto said, the amps run on wall power were not only much less impressive, they were also buzzing slightly with interference. On filtered power the sound was crisp and very clean... extremely well defined, spacial and the music twinkled. Bass was very tight and well controlled. More importantly, the floor was black as black can be... dead quite. On wall power, i got mufled rolled off sound with muzzled and bloated bottom end. For me the choice is clear even though it seems to go against what is commonly taken for grated, even by bel canto themselves.
