if it's happening when you first start the system, it's a handshake issue... if it happens when you are already listening to the unit, you had better contact Emotiva.
Ditto on 4k in the theaters... Lawrence was stunning. HOWEVER, at 84"+, I want one for my home ASAP. I have seen them for sale for about 35k... out of my price range for now and the foreseeable future.
I just redid my room(22'x25' but one side is open into the kitchen) yesterday(cornwalls) because the sound had gotten raspy, I moved my speakers from about 20+' apart @ 45º to about 13' apart (listening position is about 14') and flattened the angle out so that the speakers point to a position about 3' behind the LP.
the sound has gotten a lot better.
Look where that slider begins in relation to a human being... about 2/3 of the way to the largest structure known/hypothesized... that means more size differential is smaller than a human being.
I am wondering if the headphones being BT, if there is any change to performance? frequency response or otherwise.maybe a degradation of signal.
just curious.
on other thing you can do for dead HD's is to put it is the freezer for 30 minutes... take it out and give it a wack IN THE CENTER on the spin axis adn see if that un freezes the arm... this has been sucessful for me a couple times before. not that HD's go down that often.
I've never tried the wrist flick before, but I can see how that might work.
if you are not going to use the comp for anything besides streaming, why optimize vista? the only thing I can think of is start up time, and all you need to do is to get rid of start up items.
