  1. Co-located subs will typically yield a 6 dB gain. I've seen twice as loud listed as 10 dB, or even 6 dB. I've never seen twice as loud listed as 3 dB.

    Elac subs?

I'd still stick with the SVS.
  3. Isn't that the Tuba HT in the unfolded mode?

    Elac subs?

I'm not sure if you're referring to the Plus or the NSD version of the SB12, but BOTH of them will go lower than the Elac sub you referenced. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the SVS unheard. They're customer survice is exceptional also.
  5. Do you have your center channel set to "large" by chance?
  6. I'm used to the bigger breeds. I've had my other Rottie plus I've had a couple of Newfoundlands. You just have to keep reminding them who the "Alpha" dog is[].
  7. The sub has a built in amp. I could take you through the process of diagnosing your problem, but honestly, those amps are junk.........sorry, no offense intended.
  8. Sounds like the amp. Contact your seller.
  9. Men have been overestimating the size of things for years.
  10. Try it both ways and see which one sounds best to you. There's many speakers and electronic components that pass the THX criteria but aren't certified due to not paying the rather sizeable royalty that it takes to receive the THX label.
  11. There's no warranty registration that I'm aware of unless the selling dealer does it. I would think proof of purchase would be required for warranty purchases though.
  12. I've read that you can face them in a corner (which mine is) OR you can put the side against the wall with the mouth firing into the room. The wall will act as an extension of the horn mouth, which is the same thing you're doing when you fire it into a corner.
  13. Just got back from the vet's office for his 10 week check. He tipped the scales at 20 lbs. I'm not quite sure how that's possible as it seems like he poops a couple pounds a day[].
  14. Hey ROb, great to see you posting again. I built the box, bondo'd the holes and nit picked the sides till I couldn't see any imperfections. I went over each side several times with a florescent light shining across the surface. I don't own a paint booth but have a friend that does. He sprayed it for me.I believe it wa a Dupont base/clear coat. Not sure if they wet sanded, but I'm positive it was buffed several times.
  15. That's great info, thanks. I based my choice on vets based on what they recommend as a diet. The vet I chose has all his dogs on a raw diet and has a source of food that's delivered to his house. I'll know more tomorrow.
  16. The secret is to NEVER stop stirring it, even for a moment. It's done when it's the color of a penny.
  17. I seem to be on a little bit of a roll with speaker buys lately. If you're a KG guy, there are some KG4's locally that are supposed to be mint (haven't seen them yet). She wanted to start negotiation for the pair at $100.00.
  18. Agreed, that's only about 1700 cubic feet.
  19. Doubling your subs would double their output. If your current sub can keep up with your mains, there's no need to upgrade. If your current sub is pushed past it's limits then an additional sub would allow your sub(s) to keep up with less distortion (clarity and quality).
  20. Cabbage, keep your current sub and add another Sub-12. Co-locate it and enjoy another 6 dB of headroom.
  21. Mine are normally when I'm having a long heart to heart talk with my wife. I typically wake up with a headache for some reason.
