  1. CRAP! Why didn't I think of that.
  2. I actually took less than what the buyer offered[:$], but I've had dealings with this character in the past and was glad to accomodate. It was your typical Monty Python negotiation. He kept offering more and I kept asking less.
  3. He's met one of the neighbor dogs and loves to play. If Theodore has your sense of humor, I'll bet he'd have a blast.
  4. Thanks, he's changing so fast, he looks completely different (to me) than the pics on the previous page. I'm curious as to what he'll weigh in at on Friday's vet visit.
  5. Welcome to the forum and thank you for your service. The short answer to your question is yes. The receiver will power the RF-7's and sound nice. The long answer would be that the RF-7's like lots of juice so if you have pre-outs on your receiver, you might look at external amplification in the future.
  6. The locked threads, the ignored PM's, I've had my suspicions for quite some time, sigh............................................................ I might just have to drown my sorrows in a cocktail tonight[D][Y].
  7. I agree with Roger. The big Klipsch speakers can get very loud, but not low like a sub can. In addition, there's things on the LFE track that you won't be hearing (feeling) if you don't have a sub. In a HT setting, your center channel and your sub are the two most important speakers.
  8. didnt happen - you owe me a coke. I'll pay up the next time you're here[]. Amy must not be paying attention. My thread that was locked was much more benign.
  9. I think that would be throwing the baby out with the bath water. Couldn't find the tongue in cheek emoticon.
  10. Well then we should just outlaw guns all together like Mexico and Columbia. Shootings should drop substantially.
  11. I had absolutely NO intention of selling them but a fellow forum member has contacted me and I'll be boxing them up this weekend. It's OK though, I've got a couple more pair of Industrials that need attention. I just couldn't pass them up.
  12. My guess is that most Americans have not been involved in any of those scenarios and having a gun could end up being more dangerous for the owner. i've never been in a car wreck, but i still wear my seatbelt just in case. Wait for it...................................................................................................................... In before the lock!!!!!!!
  13. Unless there's physical visible damage to the crossover, I doubt it's hurt. You could always swap crossovers and test it in the good speaker. The damage you describe is from a drop. The inertia of the heavy magnet breaks it off the basket.
  14. Thanks. I don't think therwe's many Klipsch nuts around here so I have a slight advantage[].
  15. Thanks Michael, I couldn't believe it when I saw the ad. 30 Minutes after I saw the ad on the internet, he had my money. He said "My son said I could probably get more but I just want them outta here".

  17. Not from a thriftstore but not a bad deal. http://community.klipsch.com/forums/p/152137/1587033.aspx#1587033
  18. KP-250's. Grills, perfect, not a snag. Emblems look like they just came out of a package. All drivers work and sound perfectly, I think I was the first one to ever take the grills off, there's not even dust in the horns. The serial numbers are intact and no scratches on the terminal cups. Blemishes??? There's 3 holes on the back of each cabinet where they were attatched to chains as they were flown, there's also some white smudges that look like sheet rock dust on them which is wiping off with a damp cloth. Gotta be my best score yet.
  19. Is there a setting listed in your manual called "lip sync"?
  20. Use the banana connectors if you plan on moving the speakers from time to time, otherwise, save the expense and just run bare wire.
  21. How would one get them back up and running if that was indeed the case? The first thing I'd do would be to check to see if the voice coils were open or not. Take an Ohm meter and check between the + and -- terminals. If it reads open, they'll need new diaphrams but I'd bet that this isn't the case. I'm not sure what the readings should be but the drivers should read close to either 4, 6 or 8 Ohms. You can check a known good tweeter to see what the correct reading should be. If the readings are the same on the good one and the dead one, I'd hit them with some short bursts from one of my pro amps to try and loosen the stuck diaphrams.
  22. The OTA broadcasts have incredible audio and video. Basicaly you're picking up the same signal that the cable company gets and then compresses to send to your house. Live sporting events are spectacular. I'll switch from OTA to watch the Olympics, Super Bowls and special broadcasts. It's a real bummer to go back to cable. The difference between a 1080p (OTA) picture and 1080i (cable) picture is very noticeable. The shows that are broadcast in 5.1 audio sound much better as well. The only downside is the limited number of station you can get (depending on your area) from OTA. I can get NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX as well as about 5 or 6 other stations that I normally don't watch.
  23. Looks like that big high pressure system is keeping things out of the Gulf.
