  1. Welcome to the Forum. Please give Amy a chance to help you before you totally abandon Klipsch. She'll get you fixed up!
  2. if the foam has come loose from the cone and you need to re-foam (surround) it, you might try HERE . I've re-foamed several drivers with their kits and also sent some in or them to do. If you don't see what you need, call them up. They're very helpful.
  3. For that room, get the Sub-12. If you have many openings to the room then you might consider getting 2. EDIT, stick with one sub. The Quintets won't keep up with 2.
  4. I really liked Santana. Overall, the show was very entertaining........to me. YMMV. I thought Adam should have sung with Queen instead of KISS however. Maybe I'm just type-casting. I do think America got it right on the winner also.
  5. There's no ports on the back so closer to the wall shouldn't be a problem. Move them around and see how they sound to you.
  6. Welcome to the forum. Sorry you're having trouble. You might try posting this in the "Computer Speakers" section if you don't get a response here.
  7. I've yet to read a complaint about a driver failure on a sub12. I would however pick up a spare amp if one pops up.
  8. One door closes and another one opens. Good luck on your search. Carl
  9. I'm assuming you are setting up a 5.1 or 7.1 speaker configuration. To let your receiver handle the crossover duties, choose the "small" speaker selection. Experiment with crossover points from 40 to 80 Hz and see which one sounds best. Be sure the subwoofer option is selected in your receiver (in the "on or "yes" mode). If your subwoofer wakes up with a normal signal you can use the the auto position on the sub amp. If your sub needs a loud signal to wake up, then just leave it "on". It really doesn't use more current in the on mode as opposed to auto.
  10. I've only had a few dealings with forum members (Dee, Joesporster, GLA51) and they've all been exceptional to say the least. It's truly an internet community.
  11. I hated to see Yao go down, but I think Houston is a better "team" without McGrady. Sunday should be a good game as long as Houston brings some intensity for the ENTIRE game. Otherwise, they'll get run out of L.A. on a rail.
  12. Welcome to the forum from a fellow Texan [Y].
  13. The QSC's that I run are 325 wpc. They've got plenty of power for the bottom end and sound great on top. They're much better than the Crown's that I had previously. They're a very smooth sounding amp. As far as the fans go, ther is a simple and inexpensive fan swap that you can do to make them virtually inaudible.
  14. You'll find that most people will recomend what they own (myself included). You shouldn't have trouble finding a 200 wpc amp that will drive the RF-7's. It's the lower end stuff that might struggle with their impedance dip.
  15. Welcome to the forum. Now leave while your wallet is still intact. []
  16. The Ts parameters will tell you more about the woofer than the physical appearance.
  17. you have to pull the woofer to get to the crossover don't you ???? No. Bear in mind that this is a pic of a H2 to H3 conversion, but I think the H3's are built the same (not positive though). Pulling the woofer would give you more of a line of site in the cabinet, but might leave screwdriver marks on the woofer screws and the chance of puncturing a surround. I'd rather go through the back if possible, for cosmetic reasons if nothing else.
  18. If there is no sound whatsoever, I'd pull the crossover out which is on the back. I think there are 6 screws. Have a look around, it way be something simple.
  19. I use pro amps in an enclosed rack so fans were a must for me. I bought the quietest 12v fans I could find and slowed them down with a resistor. You have to be right up on them in order to hear anything. I also changed the fans in my amps so everything is nice and quiet. To turn them on, I plugged a 12v converter into the triggered receptacle of my (Furman) surge protector. When I power my pre/pro up, the 12v trigger on the pre/pro turns on the triggered receptacle on my surge protector and the fans come on. I first tried using a heat switch but I couldn't find one that turned on at a low enough temperature for my liking.
  20. No, but I did have the Rockin Pneumonia once.
