  1. LaScala and red wine for any occasion.
  2. I live 20 minutes from Everett and I own a pickup truck. Too bad I can't use Khorns for lack of corners and space.
  3. gawd, you guys are full of bs this forum is better than Sunday comics
  4. I had the 7s for a year. They did make me go out and buy nice seperates and a much better cdp. But alas, my ears couldn't take the whine of these speakers. No kidding, at higher volumes they gave me an immediate headache. Also, I felt they had a lousy midrange. In their defense, the bass was good, although a bit muddy. Anyway, I sold them and haven't missed them at all. I've had Heresys, Cornwalls and now LaScalas. It's Heritage all the way for me from now on.
  5. I leave my ss on all the time. Is that dumb?
  6. Yesterday I picked up a new 32" HDLCD TV. On the way home I swung by the local cable company and they inserted the high def card. Man, I love high def. Looks like plasma, but it's LCD. For movies I just hit the tuner button on my preamp and listen to the movie through my two LaScalas and sub. Not surround sound but close. Did I say how nice high def is?
  7. http://www.brickwall.com/ I run one of these and like it a lot.
  8. Monster sold out. Not only that, the company is on a mission from hell... kill anyone with the word "monster" in their name. I'd be embarrassed to have a piece of monster gear in my home. As far as I'm concerned, it's sleeping with the enemy.
  9. That's what my dealer told me too. I was going to upgrade the amp, but he said forget that... get the new Apollo. Biggest single change to my system. The on-board chip evidently analyzes each CD and adjusts the sound accordingly. For $999, it's a killer deal too.
  10. I'd sell my planet (about a year old) for $500. I ordered a new Apollo.
  11. My planet sounds sweet too. I sure hope there's a big difference for the extra bucks.
  12. I never thought my Corns were that hot. Too much muddy bass and weak midrange.
  13. Thanks Two weeks Ships from Britain - Rega is all British built.
  14. Firstly, I love the sound of my British Rega gear. It's really, really nice. I've been told my system is very tube-sounding. Anyway, I just ordered the new Rega Apollo CD player, and am trading in my Planet. I'm excited to hear it... my dealer says it phenomenal, and he hasn't steered me wrong yet. See it here: http://www.rega.co.uk/index2.htm I'm also considering mono-blocking with the Rega Exxon mono amps (125 per speaker). This wouldn't be bi-amping, just using one amp per speaker. Not sure whether to do this or not. Any thoughts?
  15. I'm done with my system. Couldn't be happier.
  16. You can pick up a ZR1600 tripath new (400 side) for a grand.
  17. I like matching brands. For instance, I have a Rega amp, preamp & cdp. My feeling is that they're made for each other and I therefore don't have to worry about compatibility issues. But what do I know?
  18. I'd like to come and get really drunk, and listen to Zappa live at the Fillmore East on new Corns, and pick Parrot's nose. Bwahahaha
  19. bose 901 rocks klipsch sux booyah!
  20. Michael, your post is interesting. You say you want a sub that can shake the house with the LS. That's cool. I bought a sub to just seamlessly enhance the LS bass without being noticeable. Just a touch... not for home theater duty. I guess everybody wants different things in music. Fun hobby.
  21. You guys should probably handle these sales privately through email and PMs.
