  1. One of the reasons they have no value is nobody knows who owns what. First the mortgage is sold to another bank then they sell the principle to another entitiy and the interest to another entitiy and these items might be sold 100 times over. After 100 transactions I declare that I am the owner of the interest part of that mortgage. Who now owns the principle? Maybe it's the Chinese Bank of Who Hoo. No, the Chinese Bank of Who Hoo has sold 50% of the principle to the Bank of Iran. The Bank of Iran has sold it's piece to Wahovia. Now I ask you, how the hell are you going to value this mortgage? 2. They don't put enough pickle on the top. JJK
  3. Yes, he is good. I always wondered how he kept his teeth in such good shape and he didn't get fat. JJK
  4. I don't remember his name but he had the double necked guitar at times and he didn't want to tour anymore. JJK
  5. My technique is easy---I go into the tire facility and point out which of all them purty tires I want and tell them put em on. JJK
  6. Did they have the substitute guitar guy or the regular? (Stands on the far right) JJK
  7. The problem with buying up the "toxic stuff" is that no one, anywhere, anytime, any institution, any computer can put a value on the stuff. The only person who knows the valure of his mortgage is the person that walked away from it. That means its worth is in the negative scale of evaluation which hasn't been created yet. In my astute evaluation the stuff is worth "zero" dollars. JJK
  8. As long as the crap don't hit the fan, I hate tilting crappers. Life is hard. They make a repair thingy to fix the pipe. JJK
  9. That's not true in my case. The best I have seen was 5247 for color accuracy. Typical slides taken in the 50's and 60's have blue decay marks which I have to photoshop out the defects. Takes a long time to fix them and bring back the faded colors, lost contrast, poor gamma, burned centers, fingerprints, and lastly hairs. JJK
  10. I have had two Dixons and now on a Cub Cadet 50"RZT. The Dixons rode like a Sherman tank. Maiintenance about average. The Cub Cadet has the split front axle which made the ride over 4" roots almost pleasurable. Problem is the roots push the front tubless tires off the rims. So I had to install tubes in them and so also with the back tires to lower the air pressure for a smoother ride. (My back hurts) It has a Kowasoki 22 hp engine. I added a custom hitch for the back and purchased the bagger for another 500 bucks. You get the special high kick blades with the bagger kit and the bagger does work very well. I also added a throttle guard so that bushes wouldn't shut off the engine on a tight turn. Also added another 3/8" fine adjuster lock nut on the hydrostat levers to remove some of the lost motion. The hydrostats tend to lock too quickly on a tight turn and turff the grass so you have to be nice to it. I was impressed with the simplistic design of this mower and have really formed an attactment to it. The bagger works well even with wet leaves and sticks. I later changed the rear tires to knobbies (same size) and quadrupled the pulling power. I have a cart that I load up with approximately 1200 lbs of rocks and it pulls this up hill pretty good. I also made an additional cover for the deck to keep the leaves away from the belts. The bagger high kick blades will last about two years before destruction. New ones $93.00 for three. Mower $3000.00 out the door. It also has grease fittings and the motor has an oil filter. Haven't had any belt problems or bearing problems. If your picky about turfing get the conventional zero steering model for the same price. No turfy with that one. Uses regular gas. I believe Toro has a look alike model to compete. Don't waste your money on the commercial models. You will pay double for no reason. JJK
  11. Yes, that's possibly true, since I was thinking at the time of a famous quote "Why did you shoot me, I didn't have no gun.", "Well you should have". (Clint Eastwood to Little ED) JJK
  12. The government just tookover Wall Street today to prevent a total collapse of the economy worse than the Great depression caused by greed, and some people are still calling for a free unregulated market? Give me a break. JJK
  13. I used the Avia on my Sony Bravia LCD46BR2 and for the most part the set was dead on the money except for some backlight, contrast brightness settings. The backlight does diminish over time. Mine since 2006 had to be boosted up a few notches recently. I noticed this after I purchased the LCD 37BR6 for another room. JJK
  14. Sounds to me like this gadget has possibilities if the de clicker does what it says. The Soundforge software would really work well here on the fly. JJK
  15. I have in 1985. And with my Hughes unit I can put incredible amounts of power in the 20-100hz section. JJK
  16. My 1965 decorators came with the gold pie emblem and three gold nails in plastic bags. JJK
  17. The history program on PBS yesterday showed a vacuum system built into a tone arm on a special cleaning turntable which looked really cool. They were cleaning a 16" aluminum record. This was at the National Archives Center I believe. JJK
  18. Don't feel bad. There are correct belts and there are incorrect cheapo belts. JJK
  19. To repair those corners you might want to get one of those small fibreglass repair kits at your auto store. The fibreglass sticks like iron to wood and is very strong and easy to form. Then you can cover everything with venier. JJK
  20. Alcohol will not hurt vinyl. But I suppose Russian Vodka will make those grooves stand on end and sing pretty. JJK
  21. I would try replacing the "Can" first. Design life is about 20 years max. JJK
  22. If this is a 3 phase motor how can you get it to run with 1 phase 120 volt input ? You would need 220 volt single phase input (2 phase) for the capacitors to shift for the third phase. JJK
  23. You can violate the Space/Time syndrome by installing a DR. Who phone booth. I saw that on TV so it must be true. JJK
  24. Capacitors (in the 1960's) were designed to last 20 years at the maximum. Some exceptions would be Bell Labs/Western Electric stuff. Today? unknown. The Crites and Deans networks contain the newest stuff going design wise in all catagories (except Dean doesn't put nameplates and serial numbers on them, not sure about Crites), but they do work better than the old ones in my opinion.
