  1. don't limit yourself to just qsc or crown pro amps. there is also, crest audio, hafler, mackie, peavey, samson, and more i can't think of. the fan is a non issue imo, you can throw a resistor on it or replace the fan with a quieter one. i am running a crown xls 402 with a resistor to slow down the fan. i run it bridged on a pro subwoofer for many hours at a time. it never even gets close to warm.
  2. you can get an XLS402 for $329 online from several authorized dealers. local music shops usually carry these as well. as far as connecting it up you can make your own cables or buy adapters. remember if you bridge you will have to put ch2 input inverted. if you make cables, tie the ground to (-)cold pin 1-3 premade cable http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/XRM105/ adapter http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GXM133/
  3. i too am interested in this, have you looked at the dbx DriveRack PA or the dbx 234xl?

  15. I have no clue where you come up with that? I do believe you stood in there test chamber as I did. They have this chamber custom built for testing a Khorn with the advantage of full corner loading. All other speakers are tested in the center of the chamber. Am I confused? Craig that is correct all other speakers are tested at 3m in the middle. we also do ground plane outside
  16. I see you opted for the "compact" KPT-884 ... You must live with a pretty forgiving partner.... [] The specs seem to indicate it actually has pretty good bass extension for a profession installed unit. Have you compared it to the KW-120-THX set? Rob never heard the thx units. the g/f enjoys movies as much as i do plus i just had to try it out. i think its staying for a while. don't even notice it after 5 weeks.
