  1. You know Mike, I think I did read that somewhere, lol.........
  2. After reading all the reply's, everything I would have said has been covered! I definitely would have put high dollar audio cables/speaker wires make a system sound better......
  3. All joking aside Dtel, that is an OUTSTANDING idea!!! I'll email him now............
  4. I replied to your PM. In the HT world, we have something called "timbre matching". This is VERY critical in your front soundstage IMO. The RC 52 should do fine with 62 mains, but the RC 62 is the perfect/timbre matched center for those mains...............
  5. LMAO, I got a new email today!!! I am Mr Patrick Chan.I have a proposal of $10.5m of which i want you to stand as next of kin to my late client. If interested please contact me at email: chanpatx03@yahoo.com.hk for details
  6. If you're patient enouch, I say get the RF62's, and wait on the rest. Always buy the best you can afford. I wouldn't even consider the RF 10's..............
  7. Well the good thing is that it has pre-outs so if you feel like you need more power you can go down that road. I would say to get the speakers and hook them up to see how you like it. It is all going to depend on your room and your ears on weather or not it is going to be enough. No, if you are going to use a different center it still should be in the same family, plus the RC-62 would be the matched center for the RF-82. If you are thinking about getting the XL-23 why not consider going with that whole setup?. The matching rears should be the RS-52, as the setup list here. James [Y]
  8. 1) It should be enough power; but I would personally like a little bit more 2) Yes, get a 12 3) Like said, you could probably get it a LITTLE cheaper 4) I don't have any experience with this particular receiver, but I did setup a friends Denon about 3 years ago. It was the most difficult setup I've seen in a receiver. I'd have to be persuaded to setup another Denon for free again 5) Pioneer has a couple receivers in that price range that are really easy to setup. MCACC auto setup does most of it for you. Also, if you don't mind buying used, you can get A LOT for a little money. Just ask Youthman!!! Hope this helps you out!
  9. Google is a pretty handy tool........... Have you ever tried to google your name? You'd probably be surprised what comes up........
  10. Ya, I've never bought anything off Ebay...... been all C list for me!
  11. I've never heard them before, and I don't think many of us here have? I say if it's in your budget, you should try them out. OTOH, I don't think you'll hear much of an improvement over your F1's, and I HIGHLY doubt that center will be better than the C3 you have. I personally couldn't deal with the fact that the grills are NOT removable.................
  12. I honestly think the HK with 80 WPC will be plenty of power! Especially considering that it will be a TRUE 80 watts........
  13. You'll be fine with the 42's........
  14. I've never really understood their reflection stuff. I mean, people treat room to defeat/elliminate sound reflections, and Bose sells speakers based on sound reflection. I'm a little confused??? [*-)]
  15. J/K! You're not the first one to say that Klipsch are too bright for their tastes. Like suggested, try upgrading the x overs or treating your room........
  16. I can't believe I haven't read this thread yet??? [*-)] When I bought my setup, I also demo'd the 3's........ extensively. I listened for about an hour to each (F2 & F3) The 3's sounded great, by all means, but no better than the F2's IMO. More bass obviously, but that's what subs are for, so I wasn't concerned with that. I knew whichever ones I got, I was also getting the Sub 12 and wasn't getting rid of my RW10. To MY ear, the F2's sounded a little more "musical" than the F3's. Being more powerful, I'm sure the F3's would play "louder", but the F2's can handle deafining volume levels, so once again, not a concern. And the final reason I didn't go with the 3's was simply floor space. Our living room is only 17 * 14, so............... Now, it's no secret that the better your amps, components, etc the better your speakers and overall system are going to sound. When I bought my speakers, I knew that down the road, I was going to get an external amp and eventually a true pre/pro. Now, that I have my amp, and I've said this before, I'm almost willing to bet that I have the best sounding synergy system on the forum. I'm in no way trying to say that the F3's are bad speakers or anything like that. I'm simply sayiing to MY ear, the F2's were overall better performers. As far as comparing them with Reference series, I don't know what to say. I've never heard any of the previously mentioned Ref speakers...... I do know this though. I'm TOTALLY happy with my speakers. I don't see a speaker upgrade in my future for a LONG time; probably until I buy a house and have a dedicated HT room. A LONG TIME away! But when I do upgrade, I'm going to need the sound difference to be massive. So it'll either be a Heritage setup, or RF83's, etc............
  17. Just got done doing my yard......... Don't you just love weeds???
  18. I was just about to recommend something like that. Zip ties are the handiest "tool" to have at home! I, like you, also dream about a HT room when we buy our house also. I would love to take advantage of the housing being so cheap right now, but being military, I don't want to buy now, then a year from now, get sent somewhere else. Then, like so many co workers, get stuck stressing about what to do with the house. Know what I mean?
  19. I'm surprised no one's mentioned SVS??? I don't own LaScalas, but SVS subs seem to get a lot of love/praise here on the forum!
  20. Me either. I put some volume to them, but don't blast them. A lot of speakers that produce higher frequencies will fatigue you if you blast them. I never really "blast" my speakers. I have once when a co worker wanted to "test drive" the system. Plus, our kids are always there whenever we watch a movie or listen to music, so blasting isnt even an option really...........
  21. tommyboy

    Fast & Furious

Well, did anyone watch it yet?
  22. CS, do you see any performance improvements over the Sony? (sound and video)
  23. I had put a post on here asking what everyone thought about the amp, and for the most part, a lot of forum members said they're great amps, but get REALLY hot..........
