  1. If the amp is new in box, I would go for it.

XYZ, sorry to hear that. So the distributor at first charged you full price for a pair of speakers that was used. Then he wants YOU to pay more money? Sorry I think he took advantage of situation and you. Am I missing something here? If you are happy, I guess that is all that matters. I for one would not be happy at all, if a dealer/distributor tried to sell me a pair of speakers full price and not disclose they are used or reduce price. Then he tries to leverage you into upgrading for more money.[^o)]

Are you saying you got the RB61 for the same price as the RB51? If not, that is what I would have told the distributor since they tried to pull a fast one over on you since they never disclosed the 51's as demo units.
  4. My guess is he will go down as the biggest Idol reject ahead of William Hung, but for a different reason.
  5. As far as the losing focus problem, I am curious if you experience it on all sources or channels? I ask because I have noticed that football games that are broadcast on ABC, everytime they show a replay and switch to live play it is out of focus for about 5-6 seconds. I have Insight cable and only notice the blur on ABC games. Football on any other channel is excellent.
  6. Actually Tenn probably showed him the door and bought a plane ticket.
  7. Because the Chinese govt. is starting to question how we are going to repay them our debt.

    The Ugly Truth

Yep, rented this over the weekend and it was a decent enough movie. I thought it was nicely done. It is a movie in disguise, title and actress screams chick-flick, but many ladies may not enjoy due to the coarseness (male point of view). I think it is worth a rent if your significant other wants a movie that you both can watch together.

    The Blind Side

I went out over the weekend and finally saw this movie. It was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. For those that may not know, it is the story of Baltimore Ravens lineman, Michael Oher. Very moving story. It doesnt offer much as far as ear candy, but its not meant to. It makes a person think if the adopting family had other motives besides just helping out a kid. It opens up speculation of boosters recruiting struggling inner-city kids. I thought it was very well done. A must see IMO.[Y]

Take out each piece of packing styrofoam and look to see if the paperwork is taped to the top of the stryofoam. This happened to me once with a pair of Klipsch speakers.
  11. I know a win is a win no matter how you slice it, but I think the outcome would have been much different had McCoy not been injured. Now I have to hear how great the SEC is for another year[+o(] Go UK basketball.[]
  12. I see in your other post that you are running RB61's as mains, if that is true than I would lower the crossover down to about 80-100 hz along with the center and do some listening tests. I think the 150hz may be a tad high for the RB61. I dont really understand why Auddysey would set the center channel lower than the mains.
  13. Artto, you stole my patent on those cables and you'll be hearing from my lawyer. You shouldnt joke about these cables, they ARE the real deal. The price you qouted doesnt justify the qaulity and comes in at a fraction of the cost of materials. [] Sorry I'm in the camp that cables dont make a difference as long as they pass a signal.
  14. I was going to suggest Sunburn's idea, but for the tractor. Sorry I dont have any info between the Sony or Sharp.
  15. They sound like industrial lascala's and I believe they come like that (black paint and aluminum bracket)
  16. YMMV. I find that there is a lot of information from rear to front in "SPR". For example the aerial bombs, the tanks, and of course the planes all use rear to front effects. IMO, I couldnt imagine watching "SPR" in 2 channel after hearing it in surround.
  17. I will agree that getting the RF7 would be the most noticable upgrade, you also need to consider your electronics. Even though the RF7 have a sensitivity rating of 102db, they are not the easiest speaker to drive especially if you have a entry level receiver. If you have a amp/reciever not up to the task of the RF7 impedance dips, chances are it will sound worse than what your used to with the RF3's. Just take into consideration the electronics you would be using to drive the 7's. I am using a RC7 with my RF3II and it kicks butt, head and shoulders over the RC3,3II,and 35. I've had all three of them.
  18. Thanks for the reply Thump.
  19. Are you able to use these headphones with a AVR? Do they come with a adapter plug for use on a receiver?

    Newb Story!

D'OH[] Is the coworker the one that told you to hook up like that? You only remove the jumpers if you Biwire, but lets not get to that.
  21. What Blu-ray player do you have? Does it have the HD decoders built in? Does it have multi-channel outputs? Check the back of player and see if it has individual jacks for each speaker (FL,FR,C,SL,SR, and SUB). If it does than you would need to connect 6 separate cables (RCA) from the Blu-ray to the receiver Multi channel inputs labeled FL,FR,C,SL,SR,and SUB. This is differnt from the Pre-out connections on the receiver. I believe this is how you would need to connect everything IF your player has built in decoders. I have not had to connect like this since I am utilizing HDMI, maybe some other members use the Multi-channel inputs and can guide you further. I have not heard the Onkyo's, I am a Denon guy when it comes to receivers but many here like the Onkyo products.
  22. So your saying he worked for Best Buy/Magnolia?[]
  23. If you are going Blu-Ray, you will not get HD audio(True-HD, DTS Mstr HD) through coax or optic. You will need to use the analog EXT IN if you dont get a receiver with HDMI capabilities, in which you would need to make sure your player has 7.1 audio out jacks.
