I just picked up some belle's on CL. I believe they are 84's WO s/n 8443891 AB networks. Kind of rough cabinets. They have been attacked by cats. The original lower grills are gone and have been replaced by a straight grill cloth across the front. Are there kits to rebuild the original lower grills? Do I need to just build my own frames and some after market grill cloths. I hooked them up and they sound great. A much better sound stage than the forte II's. Any of the newer CD's the vocals sound like they are coming from the center. I have to get up to be sure that my center speaker is off and the pre amp is on stereo. I know they probably need caps and excetra but I'll just listen for now and think about refinishing them. I might need to learn how to veneer.

I just picked up a pair of belles. They are taking the place of forte II's as my mains. The bells sound great for 2 channel listening. I still have a forte II for center and seams to keep up ok. What's your opion on a single lascala for a center or should I just hold out for a single belle.

Thanks for your responses. I think I will try flac and then just convert what I'm putting on the I pod. I'm not playing to my system from the Ipod. I will use the squeeze box to play off my computer to my system.

I have a PC not a Mac. The Ipod is a 80 gig Ipod. I also have an old dell DJ that I use for my boat that has 40 gig I think. The size on the I pod doesn't concern me that much since I just use it for the car instead of hauling CD's. I don't want much compression since I will be playing it through my squeeze box on my system also. Will the applelossless give CD quality sound? Is Wav better than lossless? Will wav work with the Ipod? Could I rip them in a loessless format then just convert a copy to the apple format for the I tunes. I know that would leave two files for the same song on the computer but I would only convert some to Ipod. I don't use my whole collection on I pod.

I got a new computer and I am going to rip my CD's to it. I have a squeeze box that I will play it over my system with. Since I have a terabit I have more than enough disc space to rip them in a lossless format. I also want to be able to transfer them to my Ipod in the same format. I am pretty illiterate about this so all suggestions will be apreciated.

What is wrong with garage sales. I find them there for $0.25 each. Most are not playable but some are. That's how I kill time in the evenings putting on old vinyl to see if it is worth keeping or using it as a frisbee.

When you extended the tophat piece so that the enclosure was where the wall was why did you add the strip of wood instead of just making a new top hat piece the size of the top hat piece with the strips of wood added. Wouldn't that have been a lot less labor. You ended up veneering over it anyway. I just thought cutting and gluing those strips would be harder than just cutting a whole new piece. Maybe the cost of the extra piece of plywood? Just wondering.

Where Are you located? Could they go with a three way. Like the top end of the Khorn with a wood tractrix horn?

I'd follow coyote's advice and use a utility knife and cut a nice little hole in the dry wall that can be reeplaced and patched easily. No drill !!!!! Drills go through pipes and electrical wiring. Which both could create a major problem. There could be a dead end water pipe or electrical wiring there.

5 forte II's and 2 quartets for rear center's All have popbumper K stacks. For movies I don't think I could get much better. I have a quintet setup up stairs for the wife's TV. The forte II's would blow them away. Keep the forte II's and add the KV's or such. If you have the room you won't be sorry.

I have ran mine with Denon and Sony ES I liked both. Both had about 100 watts per channel and that was plenty.

quartet and chorus II's also work well. I have 5 forte II's and and two quartets and they sound great. They have a very good full range sound for video and TV audio.

Well, perhaps "talentless" was a bit harsh, but 69 career starts with one win and three poles isn't exactly burning up the track. Consider some of the other fine drivers who get almost no attention because they lack Danica's sexy looks (oh, that's right she doesn't want to talk about that, but the photos tell a different story). Ah yes, third place in todays Indy 500, but led no laps... maybe you should give it a shot next year IB. I'd rather work in Danica's pits than IB's. I'm sure I'd rather look at her's than IB's.

where was all that ice when the vikings first settled GREEN Land? Why didn't it get named Ice land? How high were the oceans then? Has it always been covered with ice? Have crops ever been grown there? Have fossils of creatures that would have lived in warmer climates every been found there? Have ice sheets ever cover lower wisconsin and upper Iowa and Illinois? Did I ever find fossils of aquatic animals in limestone from central Iowa? Lots of questions and observations that make me think that there could be lots of other factors than antropogenic additions of CO2. Just a thought.
