  1. I was rounding up. It's like posts created or saved
  2. I thought last words meant that you posted on the thread
  3. Heck I've been a member since 2005 and only up to 750. Guess I'm more of a listener than a talker
  4. I heard it is gone today. 11/14 was the last day.
  5. I suspect there are some of you who lived it and don't need to watch it. Thank you for your service. I DVR'd it and I'm about half way done. It seems like it jumps ahead fast without a lot of explanation of the build up. I was 8-9 when it started and they ended the draft one year before I was elligible. Lucky since my lottery number was under 10. I thought I would always remember that lottery. In high school I had just kind of figured I would enlist in the airforce and hope not to get shot at. Then they ended the draft so I never had to serve. I never did understand the layout and geography of Vietnam and this has really helped. It looks like it was a mess since there were not really any front lines just guerilla fighting all around. It looked like hell Thanks again for all of you who served Keith
  6. I think we should give up all this base 10 stuff. We only count in base 10 because that is how many fingers a average person has. We should go for base 2.718281828... since it is the natural log and appears in nature and a lot of mathematical calculations. Lets not be stuck in this medievel method of counting using 10. Maybe we could just go back and use cubits. It's all just a matter of being able to learn and understand that your way is not the only way and that your way isn't nececarrily the right or the wrong way. Their way isn't necesarrily the right way either. They all have their places and uses.
  7. Mallette I personally don't care if you trust your pharmacist or not. Why convert at all? Some of the things we use are based in the other systems. Just because you use one system over another does not guarantee that an error will not be made. It's like knowing several languages and being able to translate. Should everyone be required to speak just one language? Should we all just use solid state amps and digital music since that is what is new and being accepted world wide? There is room for all different types of systems in this world. Dosing of old drugs was done in the apothacary system and just because someone says 5 grains of aspirin dosen't mean that it is wrong or that I can't convert it to approximately 325 mg in my head instantly. The error that is committed is in not knowing the units you are using or being diligent enough to check to see what the units are. Who is to say that any modern system isn't likely to change? Modern systems could change at any time. We have to be smart enough to recognize what system is being used and being able to convert. The distance that light travels in a year is the same if it is measured in meters/second, kilometers/year or furlongs per fortnight.
  8. It's no big deal. You just use conversion factors. In pharmacy we do it all the time. You can also throw in the avoirdupois system and then the apothecary. If you don't have any scruples your not worth a dram. It's all relative we could be using cubits
  9. I buy it and then I want to buy the other one also on some things. I can see advantages to both. I can also see the limitations of the item I bought. I think it is very shallow of someone to think that their's is superior just because they choose it.
  10. That is because those Wisconsin cows are producing glogal warming methane in their flatulance. California remove the flatulance from the cows and it is all now expelled in the california state house by the politicians
  11. Hey is this John Daly or his twin brother. Hey I guess I didn't copy the picture. The guy with the black cowboy hat.
  12. Heck Free. That is like free beer. If you don't like it after you try it just don't buy any more. You are out nothing. I have a couple denon receivers and really like them. The cheaper ones still work well Great for second systems
  13. The deal fell through anyway so I didn't have to worry. The seller did say I could come look at it pay a deposit and then he would drive to my town and bank and finish the transaction. He never said how much of a deposit. So at the worse he would take off with my deposit. Besides I never pack. The only gun I own is a 12 gauge browning over and under for pheasant hunting. It is a little hard to hide in my pants.
  14. Hey thanks BigCliff That is what I'm looking at is a 2008 civic for my son. What is a written and legal receipt? Do I just write it out with the vehicle VIN # and have the amount paid with both of us signing it. Also he says he has title in hand with out any leans. That is the way I have all my cars. So I can look at the title since it is in Illinios and it should look just like mine. I believe there is a place on back to transfer title. I was wondering about a cashiers check or if he would just take a personel check. The last one I bought was from n old farmer and he had the personel check and it was fine. The reason about craigslist is that when you use to buy them out of the want adds they were usually in your area and I hadn't heard about all the scammers. The only reason my radar is up is since this car is listed at a very good price, said no negotiation. Not an unreal price, just one that I would start my negotiation with a dealer. Seller says the price is set low because he wants/has to sell it this week. Thanks for your input Keith
  15. Looking at a late model, 90 miles from here through private seller. Has VIN posted and has title. After seeing and driving car any ins and out on how to do the transaction.
  16. Yes but Golf is just getting a good start up here
  17. having to give up beer to lose weight
  18. People that don't know how to go through a 4 way stop intersection
  19. Taxes and filling out tax forms
  20. I've been using a TGA7400 with belles and forte II's and have no complaints
  21. I have to agree with the Kohler's I put two in my house and they have never failed to haul the mail. The newer ones have a higher flush power. Heck isn't Kohler a Wisconsin company? Besides don't you have enough snow up there that you don't really need to worry about saving water? Heck they said it was all going to melt and flood the **it out of us. Second thought don't flush a lot up there we don't need the extra water down here. I never understand why when I live on one of the largest rivers in the world I am mandated to just a low volume flush anyway. Hell there is plenty of water here, it's not like I'm saving it for those poor thirsty dudes in California and Phoenix.
  22. Cause I had mediacom. They would only allow 1 hd receiver per household. I even offered to buy an extra one and they wouldn't let me. So I switched to Dish. I have 3 hd tv's and mediacom were the nanny state of HD receivers. So capitalism worked and dish would let me have all that I wanted as long as I was willing to pay for them.
  23. It seems like a lot of you are pushing the Corpus Cristi area. Maybe we should take a week and cruise the coast there and see what we think of it. It sounds nice. I've have also seen some brochures about that area of Tennesee also and have driven through there before. I'm sorry I don't think Harlem will work. Heck Clinton is even leaving there and moving his office to wall street. I think he ran out of young "stuff" there and needs to move on to better hunting grounds.
