  1. Primus "Silly Putty" which is actually a Stanley Clarke number. This is a slapping bass song with some instances of deep bass sustain. The odd part is that there's a turntable-ist? in the mix. While I'm not an avid lover of turntable scratching by any means this really adds an awesome groove to the song.
  2. Sounds awesome. Can't wait to here the rest. It's been too quiet around here this weekend. Glad to hear ya'll had a good time. Mark
  3. Ha Ha, I learned my lesson the hard way too. Don't take your wife to auctions or whatever. It's fun to do things together but bad things happen. Good luck with your new purchase. Mark
  4. Well you know what we could still do? Have a simulated raffle just the same. We get all the names together and Gary and company pull the name at their get together this weekend. Then we'd see who would of won and forty-odd people would be very pleased. And one poor soul would be broken. I think this should end with some sort of resolution. But this could be in bad taste. I don't know. But I am still intrigued as to what the outcome would've been. Mark
  5. This thing makes 18 seconds seem like a long time. Two minutes would be insane.
  6. There's another video on the site where you can cut your electricity bill in half. No I'm not going to try it. Neat stuff though. Mark
  7. Matt, You could always replace the tweeter diaphram in question. It is very easy. No soldering involved even. It's recommended that you replace both tweeters simultaneously but you don't have to if money is an issue. They're somewhere around $25 each give or take. They can be obtained from Bob Crites or Klipsch might have them as well. Take care, Mark
  8. I have a Crown XTI-1000. I didn't even realize it was a digital amp. I bought it on Dr. Who's recommendation. I like it it is very quiet and versatile. I like the system architect which enables you to plug in a laptop and make all kinds of adjustments. I have only used this a few times as it is for my portable system. I should use it more.
  9. Hey, Welcome to the forum. To me it sounds like something's shorting out. Perhaps a small strand of wire somewhere. Don't worry everything can be fixed. I believe to access the crossover on this model you must remove the speaker terminal cup. I've only worked on a KG series speaker once so I don't have much experience with them. Did you check the obvious first like you speaker wires? Other folks with more knowledge will chime in I'm sure so take care and good luck. Mark
  10. He might not be using a TT. Does the sound you hear come from CD's or the Squeezebox? If it does you can try to bypass your preamp by using the gain control on your squeezebox. If you do that and the sound is gone then it's you pre. If not then it isn't. Make sure the volume control on your squeezebox is all the way down before you turn on your amp. Mark
  11. Everyone here is familiar with the Maxell guy right? Well you gotta check out Gary's basement system. It's the Maxell dude on steroids. VRD's, BB extreme cream, Khorns. But here's the kicker, the chair is elevated with blocks or something so your in the perfect sweet spot.
  12. Yeah, they're pole mounts. I drilled the hole an inch and a quarter forward of center. It worked out well. I was able to lift my KP-301's up about 6 feet in the air by myself.
  13. Hey all. Yesterday I picked up a pair of Ultimate TS-90B's. These are very nice thanx for the recommendations on these. Hopefully my hardware will be in today from Parts Express. Anyways here's the question. When installing my brackets I probably want to mount them a few inches forward of center to balance the load since the drivers are in front. Correct? I think I'll try about 2.5 inches forward unless someone knows better. Take care all. Mark
  14. HP Power, I'm sure Doug's Cornwalls are in way better shape than the ones you're looking at in the link provided. I got my Cornwalls from him and have been very pleased with them. Good luck. Mark
  15. Hey Capt., One more thing could you please reply in the PM's your address. I'm sorry to keep bothering you but I threw out the box you sent the amp in. Mark
  16. Macho Nacho, Where ya been? We've all missed your wry wit.
  17. Another route you may consider is going with a tube pre-amp and using a solid state amplifier. Then you could have your cake and eat it too. Mark
  18. Hey Capt. please check your inbox. Thanx. Mark
  19. Better yet just order some nice gold plated speaker terminals from someplace like parts express. Mark
  20. Thanx for the heads up. I just ordered some peppered garlic jerky. Mark
  21. I think we all would like to see the insides of a Cornwall III. That'd be sweet. I'd be hesitant to do it if they were mine though. I'd only open 'em up when it's necessary, Mark
  22. Hurry, I would've had them home and playing by now. Anyways, good luck, keep us posted and maybe even put up a pic. Mark
