  1. My non-TIVO DVR from Charter does this also. Up to two week programming and can be set up to record a certain show whenever it airs. Also has HDTV decoding built-in. {EDIT} I just looked and its a Motorola MOXI Broadband Media Center.
  2. Yes, they're mine. Email with any questions![H] http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5860412132&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
  3. I would have purchased a bigger TV first. That little 4" screen would fatigue my eyes pretty quickly. []
  4. Sorry. That was me that posted about them...and then me that bought them! [:$]
  5. Thanks for the link! I already bought one on eBay that will hopefully work. Otherwise I'll get the one from partstore.
  6. I just found out that the Denon CD player I got on eBay (DCD-590) isn't coming with a remote. [] It's a model that was made around 1993. Does anyone know if Denon is like Sony in that just about any Denon CD player remote will work? If I'm not able to find exactly the same remote that came with it, am I sunk? Thanks
  7. I had a guy move next door to my parents house about 10 years ago and apparently he thought it would be a good idea to set up and test out his stereo at about 2am. From the boom boom boom I guess he was performing some type of subwoofer location test or something. Our houses were about 15 feet apart. A simple call to the local constable had him turning his system down in a hurry. I'll never forget seeing the squad car pull up in front of his house.

So far so good! Its amazing what 35-40 watts can do with an incredibly efficient speaker. The 5 decibel increase in sensitivity over my previous RF-25s is huge. At 9 o'clock on the volume knob the RF-7s play as loud as the RF-25s did at 10-11 o'clock. Dynamics are excellent. I think having a powered sub and the high-pass crossover set at 100hz helps the 730 quite a bit. I know the RF-7s have a pretty low impedence dip. Bass is incredibly tight and musical. I re-positioned my subwoofer because I was getting some pretty nasty bass cancellation at first. I now have it facing the right speaker instead of directly at me. I'd experiment with it facing the wall but I know my wife would hate the look of the back panel of the sub being visible. Its a wonder she let me get the RF-7s in the first place!
  9. What I noticed when I went from a Sony receiver to my HK 730 is that voices seemed to sound a lot more natural. Actually all frequencies seemed more analog, less digital sounding.

70% off at Deep Discount DVD. http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/studio.cfm?mainStudioid=3 I've bought several DVDs from them before...amazing deals!
  11. Was it working before? Was it an old sub hooked up to a new receier? Could be a lot of things. Is the sub now hooked up to the correct output on the receiver? Was the gain or crossover level on the sub turned all the way down accidentally? The hum could be interference from other components or power cables, etc.
  12. Well, I must be in the other 12% then. Just yesterday my wife said "When have I ever told you that you couldn't get something that you wanted?" I love her!
  13. Haha! I had almost exactly the same observation where I work! In the corner of where our jewelry cases meet there are wedge-shaped areas that we have a plants in. I keep thinking of a Klipschorn whenever I look at them. Anything would be an improvement over our cheesy in-ceiling drivers we have currently. [W]
  14. http://www.office-humour.co.uk/pop.cfm?link=http://www.wantonline.com/blog/index.cfm/2006/1/10/International-Geek-Song This is based on the true story of my life. Hilarious!!!
  15. Their song "Don't Follow" is one of my favorite songs.
  16. A vertical Cornwall is one where the horn is sitting vertically when the speaker itself is sitting upright like normal. But when you tip the cabinet on its side the horn is then horizontal, making it ideal as a center channel since the horizontal placement of the horn will be the same as the front mains.
  17. Denon DCD-590 Lambda SLC CD Player. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with the 'Lambda' or 'SLC' portion of the player? The only information I have is that the Lambda SLC part is a Super Linear Converter and that it has two of them. The limited information I have about it sounds promising. Well, anything would be an improvement over my el cheapo Magnavox DVD player that is currently playing my CDs. [:$] [+o(] Found a little info on it...s/n is 103dB, separation 100dBdynamic range 97dB. Are these decent numbers on paper? {Edit} Forgot to mention that I won it on eBay today. Looking forward to getting it! [H]
  18. If your Denon has pre-amp outputs you could hook those up to the main inputs of an amplifier. Using a separate preamp & amp is the recommended hookup for RF-7s.
  19. Or you could buy my mint RF-25s for $450 shipped!
  20. Don't waste your money on expensive cables. Your amp and DVD/CD player will make a million times more difference in your sound quality. The best thing you can do for sound is make sure the speaker placement is done correctly. Follow the suggestions in the manual but feel free to experiment as well.
  21. If you think about it, it actually could accomplish two things: #1 - A potential buyer with a limited knowledge of Klipsch might see them and have a ton of expendable income and think they are getting a great deal. If no one does the buy-it-now, big deal. If someone does, CHA-CHING for the seller! #2 - Someone looking to bid on them might be willing to put in a higher final bid because after all, the seller is technically asking $7999 for them, so if I get them for $5000 I'm getting a steal! Its all in the marketing.
  22. Probably because someone already posted about it a couple weeks ago.
  23. Obviously they didn't want the sale that bad. If you would have stuck around the store long enough you probably would have got them to go down to $1600. Must have been some rookies on the job that night. If you're able to finance them at $1600, that is a very good deal.
  24. So your account got hijacked? Not fun!
  25. No, i'm pretty sure he's talking about using a Y splitter to connect both the L & R inputs.
