  1. Good to hear Wallflower. Hope to see your pics up soon. Definitely a mod that I am interested in trying.
  2. Sure would be nice to get an answer to the original question here...maybe Speakerfritz has his anni-k's and would be kind enough to oblige???
  3. Great pics!! Thanks Amy. Sixth pic down, left hand side, is a pic of Trey sitting down beside some kind of L-shaped K-horn??? What the heck is that??
  4. Wallflower. Good question and something I have wondered about as well. Anyone thinking of closing the backs of their khorns should be asking this very question. Seems pretty straight forward and should not be very hard for someone at Klipsch to answer???
  5. Hi Garth, Sorry, the 55 is spring type. OK Thanks anyway Bill, and by the way congrats on becoming a new Jube owner!!
  6. Bill, if the K55V is the solder terminal type, I will take it. Just noticed your US shipping only, I am willing to pay postage to Canada. Thanks Garth
  7. Some good questions Anarchist...I hope this sparks some informative discussion. I think that all of Mas's interpretations are "supported by objective criteria". There is a thread in the architectural section called "room acoustics- large and small rooms". Lots of fact based and well supported info in that thread...a good place to start.
  8. As there seems to be some renewed interest in room acoustics, I have bumped this thread. A lot of reading but the "basics" are all here.
  9. Congrats Speakerfritz!! So glad they went to a true Klipsch fanatic. Look forward to hearing your impressions. Lots of rave reviews from the Klipschfest. Enjoy your new toys!!
  10. Hang in there Travis. Just try to keep busy and occupied. It gets easier every day. If you can find time to do some walking or some type of exercise, I think it will help you to"feel" the improvements to your overall health and well being. Just don't go at it too hard if you haven't been exercising. Start slow and slowly add a little at a time. Soon, you will start to look forward to it. Best of luck to you. You CAN do it. Garth
  11. Tis a bit strange that there is no mention of jubes as of yet. Maybe everyone was given the "Jube Envy" warning speach??[*-)]
  12. Ooooooh...if only they were a couple of thousand miles closer...
  13. You have probably thought of this already, but you might want to check in with any local high end home theater dealers, and ask them if they could recommend any contractors?? Might help if they think you may be a potential customer. Just a thought...
  14. There certainly seems to be two main schools of thought on how a room should sound after treatment. On one side is Ethan Winer and his followers who are always preaching that "you cannot have too much broadband absorbtion". His remedy for almost any acoustic problems is to add more bass traps. Ethan seems to really believe what he is preaching and seems to have the musical and acoustical knowledge to back it up. However, he does sell the very products that he continually is recommending. On the other side, mas and many others are saying that you should only use as much absorbtion as necessary to treat the measured problem. This side also preaches that "you cannot use too much diffusion" in the treatment of a room. These two approaches must result in very different sounding rooms. Your thoughts on this??
  15. You're right!! Looks like the Belle is back?? It is listed as a Klipsch "Classic" product. (edit) Looks like James is right... built until 2005. The old Lascala is listed the same way...but the Lascala II is not?? Kind of confusing...
  16. First thing I would try would be to add about a cup of Javex to the drain and let it sit for an hour or so. Then pour a couple of large pails of hot water through the drain to flush the trap. Might be that the drain has some "organic material" in it and needs to be thoroughly cleaned out.
  17. "In the corner as stated" Thanks Mark...that's possibly the shortest answer that I have ever seen you give![]
  18. Are these corner traps most effective placed tight into the corners or is there some benefit to leaving some space (3 to 4 inches) between the trap itself and the corners?
  19. Hmmm...interesting theory but I don't buy it. I have had my Khorns for 25 years now and have had them in several different rooms over the years. I can't recall ever noticing how a new room affected the "voicing" of the khorns, but then again I wasn't conciously listening for it either. No doubt though that some rooms are more suited to them...trouble is you don't know how suitable they will be in a particular space untill you try them there. I maintain that the biggest problem with super revealing and detailed speakers, is that sometimes your favorite music will not sound good on them. You referred to this in another post. I can recall buying several CD's after getting hooked on a tune that I either heard on someone else's sytem or on the radio, and being horribly disappointed with the recording quality. Still happens to me a lot. I recently purchased Coldplay's "Parachutes" and have played it only once or twice because it sounds like **** on my system. Yet I really love most of the tunes. I beleive this has been an ongoing problem for many of us . So why keep them?? Because the really, really good recordings simply sound so right, so incredible, so goooood, that they often give me that spine tingling sensation that no other speakers have ever done for me. If only recording quality in general could be improved...
  20. I think Daddy Dee makes a good point here. Just go make the deal and try them for yourself in your own room with your own ears. Nothing to lose really, as it is pointed out that it should not be hard to recoup what you pay for them. Good luck to you.
  21. You're right...whatever works for you is the way to go. Just stick to it!! Best of luck.
  22. I say let the "MCM envious" start their own thread.[] Now how did this go on to the topic of Rosie's legs???
  23. Hmmm...one per day eh? I say stop torturing yourself and just do the cold turkey thing. Much easier on yourself. But, whatever works for you. You CAN do it.
