  1. All I can add to this debate is that I added PRs to my self-fabricated Heresys and the depth and volume of the bass increased dramatically. Now to address the original question: placement is of upmost importance. I have mine in an unfinished (for the time being) basement. The sides are approximately 14 inches from the side(block) walls, and placed about 12inches from the back wall. My sweet spot is 15.5 feet from the rear walls. They throw the bass rather nicely throughout the basement, and the rest of the house for those not wanting to listen to my selection of music while watching tv upstairs[W] . So attempt to work with placement.
  2. You guys have gone above and beyond. Am looking forward to a good time, and more importantly good music...
  3. What is the sensitivity on these new tweeters and how is the progress on the horns?
  4. Just came across your project. Very nice craftsmenship, my hat is off to you. Have been thinking of building another set of speakers. Would love to give the Belle a try, do you still have the dimensions handy? Here is my first speaker project: Homemade Heresys with a pair of k-22-e, k-52-ti, and k-77. Seperated by type E crossovers also added 12 inch passive radiators to the rears. Made from 3/4 inch Walnut. Any help with dimensions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, Sam
  5. Any design plans for the jubilee bass bin????
  6. Marvel, Your exploded view of the La Scala is very nice. Was wondering if you had anything in the line of the K-horn or Belle? Since the Belle is no longer in production, I would think that it would have some sentimental meaning. Just curious
  7. Not enough influence from the first generation......
  8. Buy the K-horns, remove the baseboard heat and play some HOT music[] On a more serious note shorten the base board put the K-horns in the corners.
  9. Was wondering if anybody had any technical data on them? Where the low frequency becomes inefficient? Am thinking of reproducing a pair to put in a design I've come up with and need to think about crossover points. Any help out there??????
  10. I unfortunately work every other weekend, BUT if it should happen to fall on my weekend off I'd make the trip. Especially if there is a BS button included []
  11. A for sure, and I haven't even had the opportunity to hear a set of Khorns[]
  12. Sure, DIY will work, I've been called worse [6], its been sixteen years since I first heard a set of Klipsch speakers. I've finally got a set of speakers with all Klipsch components, other than the passive radiators. With my little 150 watt amp I'm am totally amazed. The passive radiator adds a little more on the low end, and the k-77 sitting right above the k-52-ti(s) make all the highs so crisp and clean. Just amazing, simply amazing. Stay tuned for photos of my next project[]
  13. My vote is cast for......................
  14. Called Klipsch yesterday and got the part number and price. The part number for anyone who would like to know is 127122. Have never replaced a diaphragms before and was worried about making a 53.98 mistake. But so is life, going to give it a whirl [li]
  15. I was wondering if there is any sonic difference between the two. I know that they are phyically difference in appearance (magnets). Is it a good idea to mix the two in a pair of speakers? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks Sam
  16. Am getting ready to buy a new amp and wondered if anyone had any input on the Crown xls402. Good, bad, ugly am open for suggestions for powering my Homemade Heresys.
  17. The sqawkers came in the ki-362 cabinets..... not the cabinets came in the ki-362 cabinets
  18. I've got a set of K-52-ti that I have placed in my Heresy replicas. Had to do some research though, since one had a bad diaphragm. The cabinets these originally came in was a ki-362 in the professional line. I noticed that the crossover point for this horn was 1500Hz. I have placed a set of Type E crossovers in there to split and send signals to the drivers. Is this midrange able to dip down efficiently to 700Hz and keep everything crisp and clear. I do like the sound coming from my good midrange, am I fooled by the assumption that these couldn't sound better? Considering the only other person I know that has Klipsch speakers is 240 miles away, should I acquire a set of K-55s and do a blind test and possibly save the K-52s for another project??? I also noted that BEC placed a comment about the K-52 diaphragm size would probably not be able to dip down and obtain 400Hz, another reason for my concern. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sam
