  1. How about a pair of Oiled Walnut '76 Cornwalls, a pair of Oiled Walnut '77 Herseys and a pair of Oiled Walnut '93 Forte IIs as an even swap? All in great condition and all have their original drivers and X-overs!!!!
  2. I have another version of this arranged for chorus. It is an amazing piece. Its on the Telarc "Evocation of the Spirit" CD #80406. Performed by the Robert Shaw Festival Singers. The actual title of this is "Angus Dei". The piece is vocal only and to listen to it in a quiet near dark room is quite moving. First heard it on NPR station KUAR. BTW: 60 Minutes did run a piece Sunday that had the Adagio playing as they scrolled thru all of the 800 dead American troops from Iraq. I think the most moving photos were of the troops at home with their newborn children before being sent to Iraq.... God Bless America.....Again!

  4. Justin, Considering what happened to your speakers you sure you want to keep that anywhere near your roomates???
  5. All this talk about wire and nothing about speaker placement. Hopefully you don't have them flat up against the wall. If you do, you might want to "toe them in" toward the listening area. What this means is to angle them away from the wall. This will help greatly with the imaging of the soundstage. The Cornwalls are great you'll love them. I have two pair myself.
  6. I've got a pair myself and yes to all of the things you mentioned as far as making traveling a bit better. Do you have the series I or II. I've had both and I like the II's a lot better.
  7. The Kornerhorns come in four boxes and they are packed very well. Mine did not come strapped to a pallet though.
  8. Craig, Would you be willing to refurb my recently aquired Scott LK-72? Its in pretty good condition physically and electrically. I was told that it had been working fine when I bought it. I have't yet fired it up and was wondering what I should do first? What are any precaustions I should take, like not connecting speakers or aux equipment? If I do fire it up, is there any way to connect a center channel up to the transformer taps in the rear? I see that it has a derived center output and level adjust knob but I'm sure that it's just for the RCA output. Help would be greatly appreciated. Jim
  9. Patents have long since run out on the old heritage line. At least they haven't copied the Belle or La Scalla, YET!
  10. I'm quite sure that the patents have run out on the old Heritage line.
  11. Dark Side Of The Moon = DSOTM Has anyone tried this as an alternate soundtrack for "The Wizard of OZ"? I've heard that its a rather interesting experience.... Haven't tried it myself....
  12. Craig, You have mail and a PM...
  13. Audioreality, You have mail and a PM.
  14. I'd leave the La Scalas as they are and get a good subwoofer to take care of the lower end. This would give you more satisfaction than a modded La Scalla. If you port the bass bin of a La Scalla then you will loose the tightness of the folded horn bass.
  15. Another spot that has been mentioned quite frequently here on the forum is mellotone fabrics www.wendellfabrics.com . If you request information they will send 36 samples of their speaker fabric for free. (I see the other site wants $5.00 for their free samples!) I have the sample cards and they are also close to the OEM for Heritage products.
  16. Once the buzzing is gone, you wil hear a slight hiss from the speakers even when the volume is 0. This is also due to the high effeciency of the La Scallas. The hiss is just noise comming from the solid state gear you have not from anything the speakers are adding themselves.
  17. I didn't want to mix this comment with a plea to Artto to come back. I believe that rush should take his own advice. He ranted and raved about putting drug pushers and dopers behind bars and throwing away the key, now that the truth is laid bare and he is found to be one of them, he is using every trick in the book to try and weasel his way out of his just punishment! Of course with all of his money he will probally be able to buy his way out...
  18. Artto Come Back!!!! I have found your posts most informative and insightful! I'll be building my GMR Khorn room soon and would like to be able to chat with you!
  19. Man!, do you see the mix of Klipsch and Bose in this guy's setup???? At least there weren't any Heritage speakers in his lineup!!!
  20. Colin, The Tennessee Aquarium is way over in Chattanooga, quite a trip from Little Rock. About 6 hours to Nashville then 2 hours to Chattanooga. The Aquarium is a nice place to visit though. Someone asked what there was to see in Little Rock, well not much. I was there for 11 years and besides catfish and barbeque I can't remember much. There is a beautiful river called the Mulberry out towards Ft. Smith that is a great float trip though.
  21. Hey, what 'bout a side trip to the Dixie Pig or the White Pig? A mans gotta eat you know!!!
  22. Actually PWK really perferred speakers on the long wall. A lot of of his tech papers (Dope from Hope) were dissertations on how much better things were if speakers were used in corners of the long wall. This placement was based on his studies of room size based on the golden means ratio. If you have a room that is 26' X 16' then the diaganal is approx 32', just the distance for a 32 HZ wave to fully form. Of course with this long of a wall PWK suggested the use of a center channel speaker with the same tonal abilities as the flanking speakers. For grins however you may want to experiment with placement on both walls. I'm at work now and can't give you the specifics. GMR formula is 1.:1.2:1.618 10' X 16' X 26'...
