  1. I never would have noticed it until 33klfan mentioned it and I went back to check it out. It's subtle and only coming out of my center channel. MrMcGoo and 33klfan--Do you both have the Superbit version?
  2. The RC-7 is an outstanding speaker. I am sorry I missed the "Authorized dealer aspect," from your previous post. I am EXTREMELY aware of Ultimate Electronics--I lost a bundle on them. I still feel they have attractive stores and am sorry they closed here in Texas. I wish Klipsch would consider going back into TWEETER--It would be beneficial for both companies. Keep your good relationship with Ultimate Electronics and keep us posted on your results. BTW: The reason I asked about the "Authorized dealer" is because no dealer in their right mind would send an RC-7 in the stock Klipsch box, by UPS.
  3. That's not a good idea. If any of these old guys are trying to get in contact with you tell your parents!
  4. Are these RC-7's coming from an Authorized dealer?
  5. C'mon guys--Not EVERY girl can look good without makeup. []
  6. There are quite a few of us here. Do a word search for "LOTR."[]
  7. I have the Superbit version and I hear what you are talking about at 1 hr. 51 min. 06 sec. into the movie. It's not clipping. I think it's a problem with the disk or dblue is on to something. BTW, I saw Spidey 2 on HBO-HD the other night--AWESOME picture. As good as it looks on DVD in 480P (or upconverted to 720p on a DLP), no comparison with how great it looks in 1080i from DirectTV.[]
  8. Welcome to the forum sinnergy [] It depends on how much you want to spend and how big your room is. I am a fan of Denon receivers and own three. I also have yet to hear a bad review of HK receivers with Klipsch. Those are the two brands I would look at first. IMO, If you are looking in the $500 range, you are going to get more bang for your buck in used or refurbished merchandise.
  9. Welcome to the Forum kenjidm, [] I agree with Bill, that you should be fine. I don't understand your dilemma if everything is already purchased, unless you have the option to take back your speakers and exchange them. If that's the case and you are trying to stay within the same budget, I would keep the Mains & Center in the 35 series and use either the RB-25's or RS-25's for surrounds. Although there is nothing wrong with having the RS-35's in your setup--your front 3 speakers are where you want the most bang for your buck. That being said and if you can slightly go out of budget, I would consider the RC-7 with the RF-35's. I am not sure how the price of the RF-35 Floorstanding speakers compare with the RB-75 bookshelf speakers, but that would be another way to go with the RC-7 and would be my choice, if doable. Good Luck. [] BTW, you made a mistake that I have done before by posting this in the wrong forum--this should be in "Home Theater."
  10. I have been fortunate to be invited to 3 Heritage gatherings and I don't think I am missing anything with my Reference Home Theater. I am contemplating having a Heritage Home Theater (not getting rid of the Reference []) when we redo our garage, using LaScala's and THX subs. I heard that Combo in Indy this year and was blown away--That has been the only HT that I've heard that compares to mine. I have to think what you are selling MUST sound every bit as good as that setup. Have you sold it yet?
  11. Ben, Thanks for the Map. [] I should be on your side of the pond to visit Vincent again before next summer and will stop in to visit Frits as well. Maybe they will have the new "Premier" line up and running by then. BTW, Your English is far superior to my Dutch. []
  12. Danku welt on how to make umlauts. [] I have to figure out how to work the "clinker" key. I will ask my wife when she wakes up. The rumor here is that there are alot of the newly designed Heritage line speakers heading overseas. Horn lovers here in the US are having a hard time finding stores that have LaScalas on display. If Dutch folks get a chance to take them home and listen before they buy, you have an advantage that we don't have in Texas. Thanks for the link to that importer. I will visit them on my next trip. Do they have the Klipschorn and Belle Klipsch set up so you can hear them in the store? I also gather they don't carry the Reference line there, but you can order them. How far is that other Almere store from Centraal station, in Amsterdam?[8-|]
  13. I don't know about any of the later groups that you've mentioned but IMHO, Yes and ELO (P?) {edit: I just realized you were talking about Emerson, Lake, & Palmer--My bad} can be considered progressive rock--But although I like Genesis, after Peter Gabriel left, they became more of a Pop Band.
  14. Welcome to the forum, BygByrd [] I have heard that B&K sound excellent with Klipsch speakers. My room is smaller than yours (although I have a high A-Frame ceiling) and I have everything in my signature crammed in my humble HT and it sounds great! I chose the Denon over the B&K because of price. The added benefit with the Denon is that you can use 2 sets of side surrounds. The benefit with the 507 is that you have more REAL power. That's my 2 cents. Good luck
  15. It also depends what else you are buying WITH the Rf-7's, or at the very least what else you have bought at the store where you are considering the purchase. If you are buying them NIB alone, $1800 seems like a fair price. If you have a good relationship with your dealer I can see you getting them several hundred $$$ cheaper. Insofar as used in real good condition I would agree wth the THX sales dude-- between $1100 to $1500, depending on market.
  16. If you like the RF-3's with the exception of their looks--Buy the Rf-7's in Maple or Cherry and be done with upgrading your mains.[]
  17. Ben, Thanks for the link. I am familiar with the Klipsch speaker lines (although it appears you guys are getting the first look at the Premier line) and like to go into stores and talk Home Theater and audio. I am a big Vincent Van Gogh fan and just wanted one more reason to visit Amsterdam again. [] As I stated earlier, my wife and I went camping there last month (one of my numerous trips to the Netherlands) and had GREAT weather even though the forecast was for rain most of those days. I also enjoy going to the Kroller Museum, in the Hoge Vellue (can't remember the spelling and I haven't figured out how to make umlauts;-) park outside of Arnhem. You live in a very beautiful country and it looks like you have a nice setup. [] How large of following does Klipsch have in the Netherlands? Do people over there really purchase the Heritage line without hearing them?
  18. We have 5 planted Freshwater aquariums with "bait," [](not sure of their size--wife's hobby that I get to enjoy). She also has 3 tanks that she raises guppies in to sell to the local fish store. The "DFW Aquatic Plant Club" has monthly meetings where they get together to trade and talk about plants. From what I understand Houston has a large club as well. BTW, Houston has some extremely impressive Aquarium stores with the most variety of fish I have ever seen! Anyway, congrats on both hobbies success and welcome to the forum. [] {edit: oops--I just saw that you have been here a while}
  19. VERY NICE! Waiting for the Pictures to load was well worth the wait. []The reason I asked about your Avatar is because it looks alot like what I see when I walk my dog along Lake Lewisville (near Dallas) and I was hoping you were a neighbor [] I also noticed you have a planted aquarium. Are those real plants? My wife is on the board of directors for the "Aquatic Gardeners Association" and is an editor for their magazine. We were in Houston 2 years ago for their convention.
  20. Hey wescott, Your Home Theater looks like my Avatar[] speaking of which, where was the pic on your avatar taken? BTW on your signature is that supposed to be a DVD-3910 or 2910?
  21. I agree. After doing due diligence on research, I purchased the Denon DVD 3910 when it first came out. The 2910 wasn't on the market yet. I was blown away with the sound of DVD-A/SACD formats, played on the DVD 3910 (Redbook CD's are also supposed to sound better, but after experiencing multichannel, this Klipschster isn't going back[]). I then purchased a Mitsubishi Universal player ($180) and although worth the price, not in the same league as the Denon insofar as build quality and bass management. I then needed a Universal player for my DLP and didn't want to spend the $$$$ on another 3910 and saw the DVD-2910 had the same video specs but didn't have the Burr Brown DAC's. Since this was going to be used mostly for video I went with the 2910. It has an INCREDIBLE picture and I enjoy listening to my multichannel media on the 2910. Bottom line--If I would have purchased the Denon DVD 2910 first, I would still have auditioned the DVD-3910, but probably taken it back (maybe). That being said it's fun telling people that I have a Denon DVD-3910 and it is an EXCELLENT player. For People who purchase the Denon AVR 3805 and 5805 (or newer models that have Denonlink) I would opt for the 3910 over the 2910. []
  22. Indy's correct--I like telling people that I own the Denon 3910 []
  23. Trippy Skippy [:|] I stared at it for 5 minutes and saw Timothy Leary [:|]. I now realize I have WAY too much time on my hands...should...not...have...eaten...the..green...ohhhhhhh nooooooo![]
  24. Here is a link to the AVS forum's 3910 Owners Thread. A lot of pages, but you could do a word search on that thread for specific questions. It is also a good source for firmware upgrades: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=447795 I own both the DVD-3910 and 2910. Unfortunately they are in 2 different systems and I haven't A/B'd them. If you don't have a receiver that has DenonLink for the single SACD/DVD-A then I feel the 2910 is more bang for your buck. The video circuitry is the same and even though the 3910 has better DAC's, I don't notice anything missing from High Rez music on my 2910. Don't get me wrong though--I like my 3910 and it has better bass management, but for most people the cost outweighs the benefit, IMHO.
