  1. I stopped at a new local McDonalds ( I know, I know) I was in a hurry. Anyway while sitting inside I thought the music sounded above average for a fast food restaurant. When I was leaving, just outside of the front door hung a nice little Klipsch speaker. Well I thought of this post and it made me smile.
  2. I have the oppurtunity to get some Altec PA horns for free. I tried to investigate the model # on the internet but did not have any luck. Do you think they would be worthwhile to get? I don't recall the model#. They are probably about 30 years old.
  3. A guy I work with is turning 60 and is hoping his wife is buying him one for his birthday. I started to tell him about Klipsch products but gave up. As long as he enjoys it who cares.
  4. This project has made me think about a Baby Belle for center channel duty or even building a big screen tv center channel stand/speaker combo. Nice job!
  5. You might want to talk to Chris aka popbumper on this forum. Maybe he could build you a cabinet with the same required volume as a heresy with different dimensions.
  6. I was looking at Harleys at Palm Coast Harley and after of about an hour when I Iooked up at the ceiling speakers I noticed little black boxes that said Klipsch on them. I told the salesperson that Klipsch was one of my other hobbies. They sounded nice btw. I am not sure of the models.
  7. One beautiful December evening Pedro and his girlfriend Rosita were sitting by the side of the ocean. It was a romantic full moon, when Pedro said, "Hey, mamacita, let's play Weeweechu." "Oh no, not now, lets look at the moon" said Rosita. "Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I play Weeweechu. I love you and it's the perfect time," Pedro begged. "But I wanna just hold your hand and watch the moon." "Please, corazoncito, just once, play Weeweechu with me." Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK, one time, we'll play Weeweechu." Pedro grabbed his guitar and they both sang..... "Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, "Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."
  8. My wife and I were doing some Christmas shopping so we stopped in the Bose outlet store. I have not heard any Bose product since I got my Klipsch. Well I asked to audition the 901's. In fairness the place was very busy and many systems were playing at once. The saleslady started up an Onkyo??? and then switched on the 901's. We listened for a very short while to some jazz. I thanked the lady and my wife and I left. Once outside I asked my better half what she thought? She told me I did very good with our Klipsch. I thought they sounded very small and was in now way shape or form any comparison to the Cornwalls or Belles. I remember hearing 901's for the first time in the 70's and thought they really rocked. Well we are happy with the speakers we ended up with. I think the 901's listed at just under $1400.
  9. Mark I think they look awesome! Very good job. Looks like a side job in the infancy state. I'm jealous, I don't have the patience for that kind of detail work. And Merry Christmas!
  10. Germerikan, congrats! It's nice when we can pull together something that makes us happy and sounds good. Part of the brain that gives pleasure is stimulated by music. It's all good. I hope you have many blessed years with the yamaha sound.
  11. Getech, bad habits are hard to break. May God bless you. Merry Christmas!
  12. Well I was going to go to BB and pick it up when it was on sale but after I got off work I didn't feel like fighting the traffic. So I went to there website and it was on sale with free shipping. Life is good. It should be here next Thurs. I am anxiously waiting. My boss at work bought a bunch of tickets for this concert and sold all but two he used on ebay. He ended up with free air fare, car rental, and hotel for the weekend.
  13. Congrats on the new speakers, you are going to love them. The N in the serial number indicates that they are 1975. Listen to them for awhile before any mods. After you know how they sound you will probably want to freshen up the capacitors. Some change tweeters and or M.F. horns. Many options to chose from. My Belles have a small piece of carpet under them to facilatate moving them. Recently I aquired a Scott tube amp rebuilt and upgraded by Craig at NosValves and I couldn't be happier with it. I thought it brought out the best in my Klipsch. Some prefer tubes others SS, it's all good. Good luck and enjoy!
  14. Well, if it wasn't for the two dogs we still have... Last year we had to put down our beloved Mollie. She was a Dogue De Bordeaux and also Rocky a Bull Mastiff, I would consider another big dog. Nice pic!
  15. Can you recomend one of her cd's? I like to experiment with stuff I am not familiar with.
  16. Well God bless you, I'm happy everything is going well for you. I too would like to lose some weight. I just don't want to do it the way you did. My wife has had cancer for a little over 5 years and still fighting it. We appreciate things differently than we use to. Welcome back.
  17. I bought it about a week ago, and I can't stop playing it. My favorite cd of the year by far. It's really nice how they can sound so well together after all these years. Some of the songs highlight individual talents , almost like solo albums of the past. I have to give this one a great big two thumbs up!
  18. Arky, Well I can honestly say my day was better than yours. I hope insurance can help you out some. Darn shame. I sure am envious of your Cornscala's, I have lusted after these since reading about them on this forum. I would love to hear some someday. I seriously was going to build some but the pyle pro going out of production nixed that idea. Then jwcullusion (sp) and I tried to work out something on a pair he had and shipping $$ was prohibitive too. I did manage to find a nice set of Belles locally and have been very happy with them. Good luck with your new plasma! Be very careful.
  19. I previewed this cd on walmart.com and unfortunately it wasn't my cup of tea. I had great expectations for it and really wanted to like it. I'll give it a listen in the future and maybe it will click. Directv has concerts on Sundays and my wife and I both liked Vince Gill live at the Ryman Auditorium and the Mavericks live in I believe in Austin Tx. I will purchase the Vince Gill DVD whenever it is released. And also the Mavericks DVD. We aren't really country and western listeners but bothed liked these two concerts. But we both like good music regardless of style.
  20. Both elite players for sure. It helps to have great coaching and a great players. Time to change my avatar! Maybe next year.
  21. I would say two that are stil active, Brady and Favre. Followed by Marino, Montana in the modern era.
  22. James, While I am sorry to hear about your problem the best advice I can give you is to send it to me so I can diagnose it for a couple of months and I will get back to you.
  23. Very dramatic change. Those are very very nice. I'm sure you are very proud of them.
  24. Well I think you might just have some settings that need adjusting. A SPL meter is a good suggestion. Does your Yammie have auto setup? If so it still is a good idea to use the meter. In the mean time try and set it by ear. I'm sure this is something you can work through. It takes a little patience and a little time. Good luck and enjoy.
