  1. I've read numerous times how a lot of you guys have them and say they are a big deal. I'm thinking about getting one for a couple reasons now. Number one is because of my newly acquired La Scalas. These are hands down my favorite speaker for music and have enhanced my listening enjoyment by a good measure, however, before I get crazy upgrading the xovers and what not for the speaker, I'm curious if adding a DAC can even further my audio experience. Two, the majority of my music is mostly steaming from my phone through AirPlay. I know its not the best format, but its just the most convenient for me atm. So what do you say fellas, would adding a DAC to the mix provide a decent enough quality boost to my music? If so what would a good beginning DAC be? I not interested in spending anything over a grand... yet, so any recommendations under that price point would be appreciated!
  2. Glad you finally pulled the trigger, I think you'll be very pleased with your new subs!
  3. So my Galaxy S4 finally bit the dust, and I've been wanting to go back to iOS for awhile so I got the 6 Plus! Just for fun I thought it would be cool to take a few comparison pics of the 6 Plus to my old 3G.
  4. Looks good Scrappy! The Palladium's look so sweet, such a nice finish on them! Glad you had the opportunity to give them a try. How do you 904's sound to them in comparison?
  5. Glad you were able to sell them. You kept your speakers in very nice condition I'm sure their new owners will appreciate it!
  6. Sweet score! Good thing space is limited because I was gonna say don't listen too long, you might end up wanting a pair for yourself!
  7. This is a little off topic, but IbizaFlame have you ever had the chance to listen to the RF-5's or 7's?
  8. I thought it might be. I think I've only ever seen the 10 in the black veneer. I've seen the 12 and 15 in maple and cherry though.
  9. I can vouch for the quality of Hsu subs. My first real sub was a 12" Hsu VTF-3 MK3 with turbo and it's still rocking away today at my good buddies house. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Hsu in person, he's straight up awesome guy who loves his work and shows in the products his company makes.
  10. The 10 packs a lot of punch for a smaller sub. Like K5SS mentioned, had space at the time not been an issue I would have kept it for a computer sub as well, but I was given a RSW-15 from my bro-in-law who found one in a storage locker he bid on and won and something needed to go or the wifey mighta had words with me
  11. Looks good man! I just picked up a black finish pair of Scalas as well, and like you, I'm loving them more and more each day.
  12. Nice write up Derrick, I loved my Fortés, such a good all around speaker that could easily get by without a sub.
  13. I second Kaspersky, it's been least system bogging down service I've used, and it's just a great anti virus/spyware etc preventer.
  14. I was comparing the LS's to Chorus. I do have something that would benefit them and they will soon be in the garage sale section. BTW, that's a 401 composite mid, not a cast 400. Are those AL-3 xovers?
  15. For those that want to know, I ended up taking these bad boys $400 =)
  16. I'm so happy with how the sound is now I have no desire to do so. If I did update anything it would be just to keep everything running smoothly. I know caps and xovers need a refresh at some point, but I'll wait a bit before I get there.
  17. SVS is a great choice, just be careful though, one sub usually leads to two =)
  18. I don't think you can go wrong either way, if you can swing it, buy both compare the two, then send the one you don't end up keeping back. I know SVS, has a pretty fantastic return policy.
  19. Such a clean looking setup! Now you just need to find a second RSW-15, purely for symmetry reasons =P
  20. I gotta ease my wife in slowly or she might suspect something is up
