  1. Where might I start my search for one of these??
  2. looking at the new reference series woofer cones, my question is why would it need to be rubbery, new cones are ceramic and metalic. What about just a touch of light weight epoxy?
  3. OK I guess I will either make someones point or dispell someones point, maybe both. I have been thinking of doing something with a small tube amp. I have worked with AC and DC power for many years I know the danger of Caps, and CRT's and I understand why they store power. That being said do tubes store power? If so which tubes and why? Does something else involved store power, that I have yet to consider?? Now the important question, weather I am looking a kit of old or new tube amps, will 8Watts drive my Khorns?? If so will 4 Watts?? Next Will a kit (like the $185 suggested sound like an old tube amp, and will they sound like a baby sophia??? As always I am looking for "bang for my buck" Last but not least is there a simple way to switch my khors from HT solid state to stereo tube and back again? Should I make some female banana plug pass thru blocks to use as quick connects??
  4. budget, smudget, what kind of crap are you guys feeding him. I want everyone who "when the time came" said "to hell with the budget" to stand up like real men and admit it. Don't tell him to stick to what you could'nt stick to. I know Damn well I'm not the only one who set out to buy a $400 pair of speakers, and brought home a pair of KHORS, and a $400 pair of speakers........... Here is how it works, you spend way over your budget, but tell yourself (or you sig other) "it's OK cause I'm gonna sell the gear that this is replaceing". Think of it like "the checks in the mail" Now for some advive for your "$200" budget, buy a pair of Forte or Forte II mains. I promise you will be happy!!!!!! Till the next time.
  5. Switch to the multi-channel stereo mode and try it both with the digital connect and with the stereo analog. If the multi-stereo is OK with the dig conn, then you can assume (98%) that the dvd player and the dig cable is OK. But try it with each cable and repot back
  6. If you are sure it's a digital coaxial cable, I might assume its working. Maybe hook-up the dvd player with stereo analog (red and white) RCA cables, then..... Does that receiver have a 7ch stereo setting? or some setting that will expand stereo to all chanels??
  7. I had a pair of 10's with the same problem I was able to push the bak panel off (glue was failing) then clamped and reglued with gorilla. Worked great.
  8. Do you have any equiptment laying around you can use for testing?? Maybe swap out the digital conn. from the dvd to the rec. or do you have sat or cable that can give you a digtal sig?? Have you used the dig out on that DVD player before?? Maybe exchange the Denon unit.... But I would really try to swap cables first. Good luck
  9. I think pine bark is ill advised, I don't recall why. You just need to mix in some compost , old poop horse or cow. Plant and water, it's a great learn as you go knida thing. I will be planting some stuff this week as we are still getting below freezeing at night. Is your area full sun? Do you have any specific questions?? I will say go easy on squash plants, they produce alot of squash!
  10. You need a sub type amp with adj. crossover.
  11. The shipping store, is in business to make money. Why pay them, to pay ups???? That's just silly.
  12. I guess it's a maine thing, I agree 98% with Greg. The only thing I do different is the speaker gets a garbage bage then a snug (home made) box. Then I do the foam and outter box. I might try using glue, usally I just use a few rolls of good packing tape. Brac
  13. AWSOME JOB!!!!! I hope we are able to find pictures of the fancy wood to add to it. Ebony now there is a durable, and hard to work with finish. I didn't see any purple heart on the list, were any ever made???
  14. Do you know what freq you are having trouble with? Have you considered a BFD?
  15. Greg I dink lots of espresso, growing up in Miami, I got hooked on "cuban Coffee" this stuff is thick like mud!!!! Nedless to say you can't buy it outside of Florida, you can buy "Bustello supremo" and make it on the stove top with one of those cheap makers (like a minature of an old fashioned coffee maker) I bought a "Tassimo" machine about $170 it makes good espresso, and it's the easiest machine to use. What was the brand of coffee Sergi was using????
  16. I would only go that way if you want to know what the music really sounds like!! Good luck
  17. Hi Amy, Thanks for the response. Ebay user audio6996, has been undercutting the market for a long time. Calls himself AVB direct, I assume he is not legit as he state 4year warranty from AVB. So my question is why does't klipsch have someone buy this item. http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-RC-10-RC10-Black-Center-Channel-Speaker_W0QQitemZ310035438306QQihZ021QQcategoryZ14992QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem The you would have a serial # and know who's account to pull????????
  18. I think the tax rules are the same, if you don't have a location in the state you are shipping to you don't charge tax. Un-authorized yes, but still a business don't you think??
  19. Daddy Dee, the simple answer is yes. Do you think people that are not Klipsch junkies, will spend a few thousand dollars on speakers they have never seen or heard? Or do you think the people who are buying an RF-83 HT on ebay, drove to a dealer (however far) and had an audition, then went online to spend?
  20. It's a tough call, the problem is they have been unable to stop the un-authorized dealers selling on-line. (who I have lost sales to) I guess they gave up, you know, if you can't beat em' join em'. I don't think they would need to allow internet sales, if they could stop the un-auth. sales. It's kinda funny you get auctions canceled for stupid stuff. But the ebay seller who always has an RF-83 SYSTEM (full ht) doesn't seem to get bothered. There is an ebay seller you had 60th Ann. KHORNS listed with 14 available. I reported it to my rep. but nothing came of it. I suggested they order something small from the guy, this would give a serial #, then they would know what dealer was screwing them and us...... 9
  21. Greg, The 50Hz would for sure mess up the speed. Some speed controls I have used work by altering the freq.
  22. Hey, please explain what the "Comparator" is, model # and such. Thanks
  23. what is the US equivilent of a "squash ball"?????? TWP
