  1. Oh wait... He's on here too under the same name.
  2. He bought these from another AK'er a couple years back. 24 posts in 12 years. lol. Here's the original thread on them over at AK. Nice speakers. Isn't he on here somewhere?
  3. I emailed the guy. Said they have the K-69 drivers, he thought. Also said they were used in Jubilee's he "used to have".
  4. To my knowledge, those grills aren't easily removed. All of the drivers are mounted from the backside.
  5. Sigh.....I wish I wouldn't have had to sell the '78' WO's I'd bought for $500 from a retired Delta Airlines pilot back in 2006. I had to sell them before I moved back to Arkansas. Still makes me ill thinking about it. They were immaculate. Even came with the original "gallon" of Watco Walnut Danish oil he had bought....for $1.29 (said the price tag). I did keep the cool custom Barzillay cabinets with the tambour (sp?) doors he'd had custom made for his records, Mac, and Tandberg gear, though.
  6. No kidding. If I had a pair of LS II's, I'd definitely want to keep them intact. But doesn't the top hat separate from the lower section? It only seems logical that "IF" a person is wanting the LS II high section sound but with different bass, you'd just build a pair of bass cabinets and leave the folded horn bin alone. Then nothing is torn up and ruined. But that's just me personally.
  7. Why not just add a sub to the LS II's versus starting over. I'll be adding a sub, or two, onto my Belle's when I get them done, I'm sure.
  8. Bottom of this page... http://www.critesspeakers.com
  9. I ordered some NOS Russian MBGO paper in oil caps that I'm going to use on my Type AA crossovers for the Belles I'm building soon. Ordered matched caps from a seller on the auction site.
  10. Why don't you just build a pair of complete cabinets from scratch and not tear up the LS II cabinets? (or maybe that's your intention) Overall, that's called a Cornscala since it's a sealed bass bin and then the mid horn from the LS and Klipschorn being used. You could just use the parts from the LS II's and save the cabinets somewhere.
  11. Dang...those are nice! Congrats! Find a good reasonable tube amp...maybe 20wpc or so given how efficient those are. In solid state, Harmon Kardon twin drive 430 is very good, older Sony solid state like the 6060 sounds really good (I have one) or smaller McIntosh amps; maybe their integrated amps. Stay away from A/V receivers if possible.
  12. I know it's been a little over a year but was curious if you got yours finished up. Did you ever do grills for the horns? What did you do about subs?
  13. How far away was the listening position from the Forte 3's and the distance apart between them? How far off the back wall?
  14. My CF-3's have great midrange as do all in the Epic series, KLF series, Heritage line, etc. I know nothing about RF stuff or any of the Best Buy line so I can't comment there.
  15. I had a pair of the CV Model 2000-15's about 10 years ago which I will say that, for Cerwin Vega, sounded pretty good. They were a departure from the D and DX series and they made only 3 models in the series; 2000-10, 2000-12, & 2000-15. The 2000-15 had a single 15" woofer, six midrange drivers and a single tweeter in a D'Appolito array. Very nice cabinets, too. I used to have a thread with pictures of them on AK but with Photobucket's change, those pictures don't show. Not my pictures but this is what they (2000-15's) looked like.

    KPT-456 Klipsch

But how do they sound for music?? Anyone own 'em for that use? Seems like the passive networks are the hard part and then an EQ is needed.

How do these do in 2-channel music setup only? No HT stuff.
  18. Hmm.... I may need to find out who the rep/distributor is for the south and see if I know them. Might try to pick up a pair for cost and just see how they do. I doubt I'd lose any money on them. They seem to be getting surprisingly good reviews. Although, reviews from some can always be questionable. Looks like they've been made for about 10 years or more. I guess it's the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". http://www.soundstage.com/revequip/cerwinvega_cls215.htm
  19. Klipsch had emailed me back the Rep contact for the Arkansas area and there's actually a dealer in Hot Springs, AR that displays all of the Heritage line...except Klipschorns, which is fine. So an easy 1.5 hour road trip will be in order soon to hear the Forte 3's and Cornwall 3's in direct comparison. Heck, might even listen to the La Scala 2's for the heck of it. Looking forward to getting to hear both side by side before deciding.
  20. Dang....what were 30 hour round trip speakers? Edit: Ok..I looked it up. Nice
