  1. Yes if you are running XP or Vista then use "system restore" to restore your computer to a time before it was deleted.
  2. Be careful, I have heard rumors of a few ladder thieves lurking around in this forum.
  3. LMAO, I can see their new ads now..... Geo Metro the Most Respected Name in Automobiles.
  4. I have a 7.1 system and I prefer the wide dispersion surrounds all around, the effects sound great and do not have a pin point location. I have had direct firing surrounds before and prefer this setup. Here is my setup a rough diagram not exactly to scale. The room is small about the same width as yours but a little more depth.
  5. I think Mona would look cute with a mustache, maybe if I could also sign my name next to da Vinci's. OK I pick A) []
  6. They are real wood, the higher end reference line is real wood. I would not try to paint it, I do not think the result would be very good. If you can get it for a great deal I would buy to either resell or possibly even trade for one in black.
  7. These can also be done through some players/receivers multi-channel analog in/outputs.
  8. If you are using 5.1 I don't think HDMI will be any benefit over digital optical cable for sound quality. The only advantage of HDMI for audio would be the new 7.1 formats and the simplicity of one cable.
  9. The link listed them. "To put it all in some sort of perspective, below is an interesting cover photo from the May 1978 issue of Stereo Review Magazine showing some of the Monster Receivers together (from top to bottom they are the Nikko NR-1415, Hitachi SR-2004, Kenwood KR-9600, Marantz 2600, Rotel RX-1603 and Pioneer SX-1980). Notable absences are the Concept 16.5, Sansui G-9000, Akai AA-1120 and the Technics SA-1000."
  10. colterphoto1 MR.ZOGS is for your stick, not your horns. []
  11. I use nothing but a very slightly water dampened soft cloth, keeps my speakers black ash finish like brand new
  12. It's always best to keep the center channel as close to the TV as possible so the voices seem to come from the screen. Tilting the speaker can help and I think larger center speakers are a little more forgiving than smaller speakers. But the last thing you want is to be distracted from what you are watching because the voices do not seem to come from the actors. I would suggest you try testing the location first if possible with something temporary before permanently mountiing a speaker very far away from the TV.
  13. OK, the RW-10's port does angle down, I consider down firing as the the speaker facing down.
  14. The RW-10 is not a down firing sub, do you mean you did this with your Sub12? Personally I have found I normally prefer front firing subs for music.
  15. My favorite music download site is MusicGiants, they have the highest quality music downloads.
  16. It is a very complicated system and improper hardware, settings and adjustments can cause many problems see the example below. http://bewareofthedoghouse.com/video.aspx
  17. Yes the receiver should have a setting for adjusting the volume of each speaker. It will play a tone from one speaker at a time and you can adjust that one speaker to match the volumes of all speakers, I normally adjust my surrounds with a little higher volume than the main speakers. Anyway it sounds like the system just needs a little adjusting, however the surround speakers have much less signal information than the front speakers.
  18. They are great to wall mount but if you want to use a stand most stands will work that are designed for a medium to large speaker. You should probably use tall stands most tall stands will lift the RS-3 to about the height of a sofa back.
  19. I am using four RS-3 II's for my surrounds (2 side, 2 rear) and love them, I like the sound much better than direct firing surrounds I have had in the past as the rear effects blend all around the rear and don't seem to come from a specific place. Klipsch surround speakers also look great mounted on the wall. My fronts are RF-5's and my center is an RC-7.
  20. I am filthy stinking rich...... Well my first name is Rich and I got the nickname RichGuy from someone I have worked with for around 20 years now.
  21. Already marked as "Out of Stock", it was a great deal.
  22. I rip them to WAV lossless the sound quality is excellent. If you want to keep the album info accurate make sure you burn only an album at a time and do not try to mix albums on a CD.
  23. I recently built a new computer to use only as a digital music server. When I went to copy over my Napster purchased music I was having a lot of trouble with the DRM. What I ended up doing was to burn my music onto a rewriteable CD then rip it to my new digital music server. I did this an album at a time, this helped me keep the album info accurate. The ripped music no longer has DRM. This took a while and was a pain but now I don't have any DRM trouble with my music server. BTW, I have found my favorite place to download music purchases is MusicGiants as they have the best quality downloads, I usually buy from MusicGiants and Napster, some others I have tried had poor quality music. Although itunes seems to be popular I thought the quality of their music downloads was not very good.
  24. I think that the changes between the two are pretty minor, yes the serial number tag will be marked either RF-3 or RF-3 II. I am not sure exactly what is different between the two. The RF-3 II was internally wired with Monster cable (this may be the only difference) I am not sure but the RF-3 may not have been. Anyway the difference is very minor and only internal.
