  1. I've actually had an opportunity to here these. It was the initial demo at Axpona 2012 in Jacksonville, they hadn't settled in quite yet - but they sound very good indeed!
  2. Those who agree with you have never LIVED with really good subwoofers (not cheap ones) which means at least 3 of them balanced out in the room acoustically and EQ'd. Once you have that you will never live without. I currently have 3 Danley TH-50's of which 4 are used in a Chicago IMAX theater. Yeah, I like headroom, and bass detail, but with the same FEEL as live bass. You have to feel the bass below 60 hz. to really expericence the full spectrum that has been on CD's down to 4 Hz. for over 3 decades. +1 for really good subwoofers. I can tell you from recent experience that my KP250's (Heresy's) sound unbelievable coupled with one F20. I also own Cornwall's and Split Cornscala's and yes, they have much more base than the Heresy, but I run those with subs too. +1 from me too!!! I own Cornwalls and I also run 4 subs EQ'd and room treatments.
  3. I'm decent.....but my son is an expert. He's a certified Fiber Optics technician. He's also and Air Traffic Control Technician (repair).
  4. P.S. listening position would be aproximately 12.5 feet from the speakers.
  5. From everything I've read - the Khorn should be on the long wall (room wider than it is long). in a room that's roughly 15ft wide x 19ft long - would Khorns work as well on the short wall as Cornwalls? These Khorns would have sealed backs, so corners would not be necessary (from what I hear). The room's bass would be augmented by subs as well. Fellas and ladies chime in - before I do somethings crazy !!!!!
  6. Don't go Scrappy!!!! I like this forum and the friends I've made on it!!!
  7. Yes, it was fair ! We wound up talking for a while, traded a few war stories.
  8. Pete, I might have a low cost solution for you to try. I was given an Outlaw 990 pre/pro recently on another forum. I've tested it out and it has a really nice sound to it but reality sank in and I don't believe I am going to proceed. I need hdmi for the set up I was contemplating. It does have DVI inputs if you want to try hdmi adapters. Anyways, I will give it to you for the cost of packing and shipping plus 50.00 which I have in it for the gas and alcohol it cost me. It's in great shape with the exception of a dent on the left side. Includes both remotes (extra is for zone 2) You can easily get your money out of it if it doesn't work out. Let me know if you're interested. Outlaw 990 manual.pdf 990_front_huge.jpg 990-back-huge.jpg You can't beat this deal!!!!! OP... jump on this!!!!!!
  9. Let me re-phrase that - Some blessed soul offered him $1300 and he included some professional power amps!!! Nice fella!!!!
  10. He raised the price and sold them for $1300 for the pair.
  11. There's also a Sherbourn 7020c4 prepro for sale at USAudiomart http://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649248528-sherbourn-7020-c4-71-channel-processor-new-open-box/ I've heard good things about Sherbourn but I've never heard them (I have heard Parasound). The Sherbourn has everything you want and then some!
  12. It's not. What can you tell me about this unit? Very clean for music!!! Has your requisite XLR (balanced outputs) as well. It also has a true HT bypass.
  13. This is a BEAST of a power amp!!!!!!
  14. If HDMI isn't necessary - you may want to try a Parasound Halo C2?
  15. It was amazing to me that Lady Gaga was an accomplished jazz singer going nowhere when she asked her agent about it and he said "switch to rock". Then I saw her with Tony Benet and she was dam good. JJK She's also trained in opera. Tamar Braxon's (Vince) husband is one of her Manager/producers.
  16. Was some of that Funk? I guess there was some of that there along with rock, r&b, disco, you name it. Parliament was what I call Funk. Yep!!! Parliament/Funkadelic is the Greatest Funk band of all time!!!
  17. One of, if not THE premier R&B bands in history - wrote quite a few gospel songs too!!!! RIP Brother White!
  18. Naw (I have an av15-h in the sub....thought about putting the TD15-H in the Cornwall vertical but changed my mind) this is the one I had doing nothing. I'm experimenting with RE Audio subs now. I'm getting rid of the TD15-H and may release the AV15-H's (or use them for a build for my son-in-law).
  19. AE TD15-H driver for sale, silver phase plug, just google this driver to find out about it. Usually sells for $339+ ....I'm selling mine for $225 shipped conus!
  20. I just couldn't even reply to this ad when I first saw it. I heard the little brothers to the Perspectives ....the Pulsars, and they were one of the most impressive speakers that I had ever heard!!! I said to myself - he's going to give himself a good beating if he sells these!!!! Glad to see you hang on to them.
