  3. It just keeps getting worse and worse for my Panthers- new coaches are very unimpressive- rumors of Steve Smith going to NE for a few scraps of draft pics- downright depressing. Congrats to anyone who scored tickets for the big dance Go Packers.
  4. My Oreck does a decent job removing dust from my components. I would like to fina small mini claener to remove the stubborn dust from the noonk and carnnies of my amps and TTs. Any ideas or brand suggestions??
  5. Blame it on the old lady.......or the dog

Dressed my Colt AR-15 with some nifty magpul accessories- otherwise did not look at stuff to spend money on.Sunday morning enjoying a Kettle one with pineapple/orange juice. 8. I am presently running 2 K horns with 2" wood horns- 2" JBL drivers 2440s I think not sure- modded belles for surrounds- stock(for now) industrial lascalas for rears- loads of outboard power- ALK universal crossovers on the K horns- - stock Lascala center for now I am thinking about building a k horn top section for a center- using 2" wood horn with JBL driver mounted on the wal with no bass bin as I understand than no bass is used in center channel program material. is this dooable as a 2 way speaker and whatkind of crossover setup would be required?? Thanks in advance
  9. It is obvious from this thread that people here like good stuff. I have owned many watches over the last 20 years and have made a hobby out of buying and selling- with the recession - there is little market in the medium level stuff and the high end has taken some major hits. In years past I have fueled my audio and gun habits with profits from watch sales. Sadly now- craigs list and the newspapers attract thug robber types which makes private sales too risky. My favorite watch is anything that says ROLEX on the papers- Why- ? medium top shelf innards and workmanship- There is always somebody that is chomping at the bit ot own it. Yes there are betterr quality watches out there= Patek- vacheron- Ademars-IWC-blancpain just to name a few. However the Rolex takes worlds of abuse and can always be repaired. The style is unmistakenable. Walk into a business meeting with a Rolex regardless of model and it makes a statement that you have accomplished a certain status in the business community. Brietlings may be more technical- Tags may be more trendy but my taste runs to the ROLEX sport models I presently own a 18 k all gold sub with a blue face- a black face stainless Daytona= my daily is a Deep sea dweller which looks like a brick but wears like a dream. Also a Thomas grief Oceanographer and a bunch of nam era Siekos I seriously regret selling my 2 tone Ademars Piget royal oak 3 register day date month on a 2 tone bracelet- also my blancpain flyback chronograph= 2 mistakes selling these. I gave my beloved GMT to my son for graduation
  10. WT?? No posts for days and days????? good days- got 2 Belle surrounds for my HT and occcasional 2 ch use and they are BAD @SS!!!!!!!!!!!- wood horns-JBL pro series drivers- Breyna tweeters- wood horns.. Dudes..they ROCK..back in the HT business big time bad days- my mom continues to be sick- reaction to antibotics- weak- will not eat-worries me but I don't know what to do-very concerned- 1 trip to the hospital- several trips to the doctor- bad deal Drinking a makers 46 and coke- hoping for better days Cheers
  11. I have a modded surrround system with 2" wood /JBL driver K horns- LS center- Industrial LS Rears- previously stock Cornwall surround sides. Big stack of Carver and B&K 4420s- Sony head unit and 550 BR player- RSW15 sub. Sold the Cornwalls and bought a ridiculious pair of Belles- 1" wood horns with Big JBL pro series drivers- Breyma tweeters= ALK Junoir crossovers. The difference is amazing- this is a plaster removing system= the Belles made a major difference over the stock Cornwall particularly in action movies. I am very happy with the new toys. Now- on to the unmodded center and rears[6]
  12. Congrats- A rare and special set of amps- I looked for a while and ended up with VRDs ENJOY
  13. first order of business Fini Next week- My resturant guy is calling me daily begging me to take some. I .will try your recipie and report back. We have run out of ways to cook them Off to a charity pheasant shoot on Friday- man I need this big time- no phones- no yapping customers and company owners breathing down my neck. Nothing but fine shotguns- boykin spaniels- old whiskey and cigars and hopefully lots of birds to bring back and eat. Plan to head down to cigarbums place and pick up the modded belles from hell on Sat if the audio gods are smiling down ant the weather does not screw things up. I am also putting plans in place for the TT mods next week Spoke to Harry last night about a new CD player- May sell my cambridge backup Hope everybody is well- All the best to the bar buddies- Drinking a Russian potato vodka with fresh squeezed gratefruit juice- wonderful Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. I just remembered using some stuff called " NO" . I think it was made by Hartz mountain co - not sure It was a nasty spray that you would spray onto a cotton ball- then attach to the speaker/sofa or whatever. When I first bought it I would catch the cat getting ready to scratch nad run his nose in it- then atttach it to the sofa/speaker. After that they never bothered the sofa which they hadt targeted for a scratching post.. cats hated the stuff. Dont know if it is still out there but it worked well for me. For the record Cigarbum has the best most well behaved cats that I have ever seen. I always get the cats from the peeing and scratching Olympic team. That is why I dont have one now.
  15. point taken All BS aside- I hope this POS burns in hell for killing those people- especially the children.I Hope he does not slip through the cracks in out justic system.
  16. Fini- I missed the salmon and sav blanc part of your post. We are drowning in cheap but excellent Salmon here- sockeye I believe- Alaskan I am having to freeze it- much prefer fresh-The sav blanc paring is excellent Chase down some Hartwell Estates if available in your area.Great stuff
  17. I missed this in the news- What a bummer- RIP
  18. I believe that a previous poster said that Bush was responsible- I was merely agreeing with him. Since Bush has been blamed by the left for everything from toxic shock syndrone to global warming it stands to reason that he must have been responsible for this in some fashion Maybe he is the second guy who the police are looking for(Sara Palin drove the car to drop the shooter off)[] If using a typo as point of debate is the best that you can do-I am the one who should be laughing[]
  19. Fini-for a buck apiece I will take my chances-delicious- 5 dollars in the stores here with both legs intact My Mom had a cold at Christmas. Got very weak- stopped eating- Could not walk down the hall- I dragged her to the doctor who immediately sent us to the emergency room this past Tuesday. They pumped her full of fluids ran tests- all negative except for an infedtion for which she was taking medicine. She is 79. I believe she might have died if had not forced her to go to the doctor to be checked. Pretty scary. She did not want to bother us with her problem. Much better now and eating well. Looking at some tweaks on my system- updated surround speakers-Belles- and some long overdue TT upgrades. Hope everybody's ailments mend quickly. Time for a bloody Mary- Cheers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Connecting Palin to the shooting makes about as much sense as blaming the Byers ice cream company for Rosie Odonnel and Michael Moore's weight problems. Obviously Geroge Bush and/ or the NRA caused this horrible tragedy. I wish the perp would have been killed instead of tackled. 50 cent bullet would have solved that part of the problem, With our catch and release court system- we will be out of prison to kill again in say 10-12 years
  21. I would like to squash that litttle green gieco POS lizard- for their TV commercials if for no other reason ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES S U C K Dont believe it? just wait until you get into an accident with another driver with the same company- State Farm screwed me big time
  22. A forum buddy has 2 indoor/outdoor cats. They dont scratch stuff or piss on anything. Another friend of mine has a cat that pisses on everything- including speakers- his have been removed but that did not slow tha pissing process down one bit. The house smells like a litter box despite their efforts. The cat has a particular liking for anything made of plastic as a target. I had 2 siamese cats for a number of years that never really pissed on anything except for a few accidents. Early on they would try to use my ESS hiel tower speakers for scratching posts. I would throw pennies at them and smack them across the heads. They still tried to sneak up when they thought I was not looking. I would rattle my keys as they thought I was reaching for the pennies. they woul haul @ss to get away running into each other and furniture. Eventually they gave up and used the scratching post that I had bought them.
  23. Snowed in- running low on liquior- watching football Found a place in SC that sells reject- missing one leg- Kornish game hens for a buck apiece- cooked a batch for Christmas dinner yesterday- absolutely killer Sipping on a Heiniken Cheers
