    BBQ/Smoker ???

More information is always a good thing. We will have to run our plans through the program and see what it tells us. We are still early in this build so we can modify the design if something doesn't look like it's going to function properly. Thanks for the link!
  3. Panasonic? I'm guessing you meant to say Yamaha RX-V. My bad, big TYPO[]
  4. Not exactly NRA material. The liberals will use this against us. Just goes to prove that stupid is everywhere.
  5. If HT is first on the list, I would recommend Onkyo for a fair price with many switching capabilities, but if you can step up to a solid Panasonic RXV, you will get the HT integration and a much better sound for audio only. Here's the bottom line, if you get a solid HT reciever, you will be taking a big step forward in both directions and then you will make transitional decisions based on your taste's and inrerests one step at a time. The Onkyo's of this generation really lack in the audio department, and I say that being a 20 year Onkyo owner, but the pre amp section and D/A converters don't do audio justice. I would strongly suggest that you look into the used market, and you can buy 2 or 3x the equipment that you could purchase new.
  6. Hey Mark, all you need to do is train your cats! I have a complete RF7 HT set up along with 4 other set ups that cats would love, but my cats know where the limits are and they might walk around them, but they really know what their limits are and don't get too close to any of them, but it took some work. Cats are just like dogs, just a little more hard headed, but they can be trained.
  7. I'm no expert either, but if you're trying to bi amp, I believe that if you're using a speaker with a passive crossover, you first have to take that out of the loop and get an active crossover and run the amp's seperatly into each (speaker, driver), it sounds like you're trying to biwire, which is just a waste of time. but I'm a novice, so I'm sure you'll get better advice than I can give.
  8. Welcome to the forum! I would start this conversation by asking what your ultimate goal is? Are you more into HT or how important is 2 chanell? In my journey, they are two diffent worlds if you're looking for answers for one system. You might be looking for some combination that will give you the best possible of both worlds, but defining what your immediate goal is will really help with the response that you get being valid. Please don't take me the wrong way, I've been where you are and my answer was to have 5 different systems, which could be a little extreme, but it's like a ladder............one step at a time, so what are you after now.

    BBQ/Smoker ???

15 years in the low country in South Carolina means if you can put 1 pig on it, wouldn't 2 be better. or a pig and a gator tail some oysters a few smoked red fish, a butt load of shrimp and a Cobia if it's in season. There's just no gathering like a southern smokin or grillin.............Darn, I'm getting really hungry!

    BBQ/Smoker ???

Great thread guys! Me and a buddy are in the process of building a big tow behind off set smoker with a 500 gallon oil tank as the heart of the unit. I'll have to snap some pictures when we work on it again. I'm going to try some of these ideas, they sound wonderful. I have another friend that smokes all the time and consistently makes the best brisket I've ever had so I'll have to quiz him about it and post his method.
  11. Cornwalls produce very nice bass with old drivers or new drivers so I hope you find the problem soon because you're missing the best part of the Cornwall.
  12. Welcome to the madness. They look fantastic! One of these days I'll actually finish mine, but then I would have to stop listening to them for a week.
  13. Like the outcome or not there are some kids with talent that now have a shot to do something with their passion. Most of these kids would have never even gotten a shot without this show, despite the judges overall being lame and not giving good productive criticism, except when it came to Haley and then it was usually just giving her the cold shoulder for some unknown reason. I never understood why none of the judges or mentors told her to do some Bonnie Rait, that girl would have killed it. The real talent will rise as it has in the past if, like in the show, they choose the right material.
  14. Hi Bob, any chance you have the inspectors e-mail address and we could all send him our thoughts on the matter?[6]
  15. Come on guys, lets help her her out.
  16. Welcome! Do you listen to music much? If you do and that's important then I would go after the best (in your opinion) mains that you can afford and not worry about matching it up, as you can adjust the mains down for HT. If you are more committed to HT then I would try and stick to trying to match everything as close as you can and the 62's would be a better decision than the 82's IMHO. So much of this comes down to your personal preference that ultimately you need to decide; and I'm saying that with a complete 7.2 RF 7 HT set up that I still have to tame down the towers and subs to suite my personal preference.
  17. My second reason for loving Klipsch is this forum. What's not to like; I've made some good friends, gotten a wealth of information, tried to offer help to others when I could, LMFAO on many occasions. I'm not trying to be a prick here, but did the forum hurt you in some way?
  18. If it were about 10 years ago when money was flowing like a river in new construction and I was a bit more spontaneous the picture on your face when you saw a charter bus pull in the driveway with dtel and the boys licking the windows because we were on a week long road trip picking up forum members and consuming mass quantities of alcohol just to come to your party, that there would be a picture. I'm telling you that one of these days the planets will align and some of this group will end up at the same place and have a wild time on our scooters. (the ones advertised on t.v. that 90% are covered by medicare)Take lots of pictures, I'm sure it will be a blast and I hope everyone is doing well!
  19. One of these days, but not this time. Please take pictures when the cops arrive[], and by the way, this is an audio forum and I don't like when people talk about food and beer, you know some of us don't like food and beer and I'm sure there are plenty of forums that you could talk about beer and food and party's as long as you want. LMAO,
  20. He's not kidding at all and have a nice chunk out of my hardwood floor from a few years ago to prove it.
  21. 2 part answer; first, I have run 2 centers in a couple of different configurations with great results, but having said that I was using RB61's, RB5's and one time a couple of RP3's with one on either side of the screen. Considering what you're looking to try this with (this is just my opinion) I would think that the single 64 would sound better than the 2 52's.
  22. Even though I've only owned Klipsch for a couple of years now, the horn journey really started 20+ years ago when I was only into German and Swiss gear and was extremely happy with my systems. I needed a system for a small bar that I co owned and wasn't going to spend a ton of money. I ended up purchasing a pair of 2 way community pa speakers that were driven by an Onkyo receiver and those speakers rocked the place with very little power. Many of my patrons ended up purchasing those speakers for their home and I remember that even though they didn't have quite the detail of my home systems, the mids were excellent and the bottom end punch was great. Flash forward and the progression has been from a pair of RF7's, to Cornwalls, to split Cornscala's, with a few pieces and parts cut and laying in the shop for Jamboree's and a pair of Spud's. Details, Details, Details[]
  23. My future brother in law is looking to do a cheap surround set up and sent me a link to some Quintets on the bay that are listed for 150.00. I believe they're the first Quintets but I don't know anything about them or if that would be a decent price and more importantly, do they at least sound OK? I've already tried to talk him up for his budget on this, but it's just not really important to him, so any help is appreciated.
  24. Pinochle or Binocle (sometimes pinocle, or penuchle) is a trick-taking game typically for two, three or four players and played with a 48 card deck. Derived from the card game bezique, players score points by trick-taking and also by forming combinations of cards into melds. It is thus considered part of a "trick-and-meld" category which also includes a cousin, belote. Each hand is played in three phases: bidding, melds, and tricks. The standard game today is called "Partnership Auction Pinochle."
