  1. When on the road with the laptop and headphones. I'm totally onboard with an external for the laptop at home, but I'm not taking all of that with me.
  2. I would imagine it has to. If it's pushing a signal out to a 3.5mm headphone jack.
  3. @Thaddeus Smith, any thoughts?
  4. Will be yes. No, some folks don't read. lol The question remains, does anyone know of a laptop that has a very good built in sound card. I just don't accept that no manufacturer incorporates a great sound card in any laptop. We've discussed this and thinking that maybe someone out there had an answer, I thought I would throw it out here to see.
  5. I've got to replace my laptop. It's been a great machine, but it's time to go. I've been trying to find something that has a really good built in sound card and it's become frustrating because I can't seem to find specs. This is the piece that I will use to stream music when I'm downstairs, in the shop etc. The same machine will have REW, mini dsp interface, and other audio related items and software, so that's it's primary function. Does anyone have any insight on this? I should mention that I'm strictly a PC guy and that's not changing as I will still have MS office that will be utilized on the machine.
  6. If you go into Asheville, you might be surprised what you attract. I went there a couple years ago and wow, has that place changed from 15 years ago.
  7. Mr. Elmer Fudd must be a crazy right winger then. LOL
  8. That makes my stomach rumble just thinking about that. Growing up in N.E. Pennsylvania, I pretty much stick to cheese, pepperoni and occasionally, some spicy sausage and banana peppers. Unfortunately, it's an extreme rarity to find any places around me that seem to know what good pizza is and if you're looking to go get a slice or two, forget about it.
  9. I will let you know as the final plan comes into focus. Thanks!
  10. I busted out laughing when I read that.

I think your high tide is right around 4AM and your warnings read like a book.

Expected to further increase and looking at the tide charts, may not hit at the best time either.

That's for sure. I hate it for all of you that might be in the path. Been there, done that and it sucks, but there's trade offs no matter where you live. Be safe.

When I was on the coast of S.C. we chose based on the same basic criteria. 3 or over projected, we were gone.

Might be a good time for a road trip to Ohio. I know you're prepared, but are you prepared to leave?
  16. When the wife is away, I typically add some new gear to the mix, or move really big speakers into the living room that she hasn't given the thumbs up on .
  17. We all choose different rabbit holes to go down, and the capacitor hole is a really deep one. The more I try and investigate and learn, the deeper down the hole I seem to end up, and it's really dark. LOL
  18. Sorry to hear that and I hope you can get it adjusted to your liking easily.
  19. Did you plot the alcohol consumption curve and overlay that with when you did the changing out of equipment? We need charts and pictures.
  20. I think you need about a 16' round boat so that you and the family can stay in the middle and maintain proper distancing while trying to survive.
  21. I believe the big blobs of solder, compensate for the use of non recommended zip tie colors, but the shoehorn that will be used to get them back in the cabinet, well, that's another story entirely.
