  1. I will pray for you Dean, but don't deny the body's incredible ability to heal and change. Let me know if there's anything that I can do, don't take that as pity, I'm talking about building you a set of cabinets for a project or ordering some crossovers or anything else that will provide a mental break from the treatments as I know after watching others go through it, that can be a tough thing to get away from. Love, Laugh and Live[]
  2. Sorry, I haven't had a minute to get into this, but I will post as soon as I do.
  3. That's what I was trying to do, but I can't beat him over the head because I don't know where he lives.[]
  4. I think you may be right. That angle under the stairs may be just killing the sound ? Maby just turn it slightly to point it into the room just for a test. That thing should be plenty bass for your room. I use a "spud" two 8 in drivers with a little AVA250 plate amp at about 180 wpc. The gain on the sub is at about 11 o'clock and it has good bass in a 24 x 18 room. That's what made me thing something was killing the bass. I have to agree if the wiring is correct (I totally screwed that up on my SPUD build [:$]) you must have a placement or room issue. I can run the SPUD or a single RSW 15 or a TUBA HT in a room that is really open and around 30x25 and get more than enough bass for music or HT out of any of the subs mentioned and actually have to dial them down a bit, but I'm sure the room acoustics have a huge part to play in that. I would invest a couple hours moving the beast around playing the same reference with the same output and see what happens first. I know you pulled the panel off and it looks great, but did you run it while you were screwing with all the connections? I know I'm taking the non scientific approach, but I was ready to toss my Onkyo out the window after quickly checking connections and thinking that I had the right side gone in the Onkyo, only to find that is was the banana plug, so I would seriously check it from the source to the sub and do the placement test and see what happens. Hope you find it because you have a great sub.
  5. Am I the only one that got that? LMAO[Y]
  6. Let me put it this way, I purchase every pair of clean RB 5's that are 200 or under that I find and I would really have to hear another speaker for that price that comes close to the 5's performance. If you haven't alreay, get on it and buy them and if you don't like them you can turn them without any problem, but I suspect you won't part with them.
  7. The RSW is great for music and is indeed no window licker sitting in the back of the bus for HT either IMHO, but to each their own.

    What I Got Today!

A few love letters from the IRS and a hung brake caliper; but tomorrow is another day.
  9. So, is that information considered an errand, or was that the Doctor visit? LOL, I'll bet you're excited and can't wait for the day. Keep the bass pumping from day one so the baby learns to sleep while your listening habits remain constant.
  10. I get by with a little help from my friends. I wave by with a little help too; oh crap, wrong thread, I thought this was the one about LSD and drinking. You have to be smiling at that one!
  11. You seem to know a lot about this. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! (Pinky in the corner of my mouth, shaved head wanting to install explosives on sea bass) ; )
  12. That is really, really funny! Just the other night, when my GF said that I drank too much in Mexico I told her with a straight face that I was going to do something drastic to curb my appetite for alcohol and I pulled that article up and you should have seen the look on her face. ROTFLMAO DISCLAIMER!!! Never been there and done that (LSD) I have been a cloud during a storm laying in the grass getting soaked by the rain but I blame that on the bad mushrooms that were on the Pizza. But in the name of science, shouldn't we at least give it a try! Richard, I don't think this would violate your diet at all as I'm pretty sure that LSD doesn't have any carbs.[]
  13. I hate it for you. I've purchased many items on e-bay and have had a handful of them damaged, by shipping or just bad prep for shipping, but in all cases, I've worked with the seller to document the problem, get the shipper involved when applicable and work out fair resolutions with the shipper or the seller. I'm a builder and at this moment have over $150,000 in receivables from idiots that are trying to scam me out of money even though there are clear contracts in place that describe in detail what they are building and in my case as in yours, all the burden is on me including the legal fees to collect what I'm due. This, unfortunately, is the world we live in. Hope you get it worked out and screw e-bay for continuing to place all the blame on the seller.
  14. A pair of RS 3's for 150 is a great deal regardless if they are less than the RS 62's. Keep in mind that they are surround speakers and I've run RS 7's and RP's and RF 35's as surrounds and when you get down to brass tack's, they are surrounds and any quality speaker will sound fine if matched close to the mains.

In a futile attempt to get this back on track, why don't you consider a new Yamaha that has the features that you want, since you like what you hear from your current set up?
  16. In a very weird way it was; upon finishing the replacement of the sump pump yesterday after work and joking with Denise about wanting to retire in a home that didn't have any pumps, as I was pumping off excess pool water and joking about the pump in the septic tank (Joke was on me), I noticed that the breaker was tripped for the septic pump and pulled the lid to find the tank ready to overflow and the pump not working. When the coupling let loose that was holding back a 150' line filled with magical fluid (I was really close to the action) as I was trying to work the pump from the topside to work loose any debris that might have been trapped..................................are you getting the ugly picture................the late afternoon went to shi^ from there. On a positive note, I could have discovered the problem with this pump when the sewage backed up into the home so how's that for the "Glass is half full" theory? The other bright note is that I don't have to call plumbers to fix this shi^ (so to speak) so I spent a whopping $20.00 in parts to fix one pump and $0.00 to fix the other one, but taking the expression "I've really gotten myself into some shi^ this time" to a whole new level..........................PRICELESS! I will end this with Shi^ Happens.[] or I've got a really shitt^ taste in my mouth, or you can just make up your own. God, that was like a therapy session, and I feel much better now.
  17. Zac Brown Band You Get What You Give Country, Southern Rock, Blues (They cover a lot of ground) I love this band and this one as well as their first (Foundation 2008) will let you enjoy everything from foot stompin shi^ kickin country to some fine lyrical ballads to some reggae influenced songs. With so many recordings having only one or two really good tracks on them, it's great when I latch on to a band that I can hit play and enjoy every cut, especially when there's such diversity.
  18. Well I had a brake hang up on the truck and a sump pump fail in a rainstorm............so the 115 doesn't sound any different yet.[]
  19. I'd have done that already. I'd go easy on the volume to start in case you're bypassing a high pass filter. If you start to crank it, go slow and back it off if you hear anything funny (clanking) or if you're upping the volume and the sub quits getting louder. I'm going to attempt to take some time this evening and give it a run to see what happens; I've just been too busy at work and was out of the country for the last week.
  20. You got me dtel. I put on my glove and sing "Beat It". As long as there's no lotion involved. LMAO[6]
  21. It's great to hear when someone is completely happy with their system and to make the statement that you're done for a while speaks volumes. Congratulations on your system and some day I'll get to hear a 402 and understand what you're all talking about.
  22. That's part of the big plan but for now I can just take the crossover out of the picture and just feed the 115 from the sub out and through one of my amps while trying to figure out if any gains can be made.
  23. i have one of those subs....it stinks! What did I say about trash talking when someone is looking for input.[]
  24. You're such a tease. One thing for sure, it'll be MUCH smaller than my last project. Ok, I'll play along. What will be?[]
