    for Fini

One day an old German Shepherd starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch. The old German Shepherd thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in deep s*** now!" Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to leap, the old German Shepherd exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious panther! I wonder, if there are any more around here?" Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. "Whew!," says the panther, "That was close! That old German Shepherd nearly had me!" Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the panther. So, off he goes. The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the panther. The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!" Now, the old German Shepherd sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?," but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old German Shepherd says.... "Where's that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther!" Moral of this story.... Don't mess with the old dogs. Age and skill will always overcome youth and treachery! Bullshit and brilliance only come with age and experience.
  8. that's a great unit (RR2150). i had one for awhile, went to tubes and gave it to a friend. kinda wish i still had it, may get another one, very powerful, lots of control down low, very quiet.
  9. Tube Fanatic covered it much better than i could have. [Y] I'd only add that you need not match brands on pre's and power amps.
  10. i bought the 2.1's with my computer a couple of years ago. didn't see the need for 5.1 on the computer. but, some who watch movies or are big into gaming may want to go that direction. i can tell you that the 2.1's fill up a room..
  11. cheapest cornwall sales price i've seen on the forum! good find!
  12. i bought a BIC passive sub many moons ago used from an individual and couldn't wait to get rid of it.....
  13. remember, momma is always right, and when she's wrong.......figure out how to make her right. that's it. that's all you really need to know. not quite as long as Dtel, but 30+ years here.... congrats!!!!! [Y]
  14. ahhh, so now we know the facts, you've already been bitten by the tube bug....ok, good for you!!! just read a lot and at some point, take the plunge. it'll probably not be the end all, but use it as a springboard to the next level.....
  15. that's a heck of a sub, bet it does match well with HIII's. 25+ years ago, i added a passive sub to my HII's. I didn't have the amp to handle it at the time so quickly discarded the passive. No funds at the time for any other option. Bet it does rock! [Y]
  16. good job on the rack. your system looks fantastic!
  17. nosvalves wrote: "...since all music sounds good in either mode... " yes, i didn't say this clearly in my posts, but both modes sound excellent with any type of music. [Y]

  19. My neighbors directly across the street from me, the wife has altzheimers, it is not something you want to see. i think it is one of worst ways to go, not painful but, the abyss.... i want to go peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather, not in terror and screaming like his passengers..... sorry lord for that, please forgive me....
  20. i'm going to steal this quote from you, but i will post it with stolen quotes from many others so as to make it "research". [Y]
