  1. Hello TOPALOGLOU and welcome to the forum! Also, Hello too you parlophone1 and boomer9911. To make this as simple as possible, Paul Wilbur Klipsch said there is no such thing as High Fidelity. Something either has fidelity or it does not... Does this make sense to you??? Therefore, your speaker wire and interconnects either have fidelity or they do not... Are you with me so far?? You cannot make a system sound better than the signal sent to it, ie; we cannot increase the fidelity of the signal, only deteriorate or add to the signal that which was not there before. Therefore, as long as you are running wire of sufficient gauge for the length needed for the run, we cannot improve upon this signal. High end speaker wires and interconnects often use capacitance in line wich can soften the sound and some may find the difference pleasing to the ear, make no mistake, this change in the signal path is NOT fidelity!!! I own over $4,000 in interconnects of one type from a company and I have the same brand two models cheaper and the cheaper interconnects sound better! I also have silver plated 10 Guage stranded pure copper wire with gold plated spade connectors and it sounds no better on TSCMs, Klipschorns or LaScalas than 14 Gauge stranded pure copper zip cord type wire. Spend your money on music or upgrading something else in your system, patch cords and speaker wires are myths that someone can make a lot of profit off of you by pulling a fast one on you. Roger Hi Roger and thanks, been away for awhile. Thank you for the simple English explanation made quite clear and makes perfect sense in all honesty...lol... I've been running Kimber cable 8TC up front and Monster 12 gauge to the rear Hersey's for the longest time. I guess I was sold on the Kimber gimmick of the thick and thin wires, thin being for higher frequency and thick for the lower frequency, and truth, they sounded the same when I used the rear Monster 12 gauge off the Khorns up front. I will be running a 2 channel setup soon with my LaScala's as I just purchased a vintage Marantz 2275 Receiver along with a Rega RP40 TT and just need the speaker wire, which I did order this morning. From reading from my fellow Klipschers I have decided to purchase the red\black 10 gauge "zip cord" from Powerwerx in the states at 25 ft for $35 plus shipping for that run to the LaScala's. I'm looking forward to the comparison if any.....Cheers.....
  2. Just curious, has anyone tried or using the Klipsch Palladium or Reference cables with their Heritage....any thoughts\opinions on these cables....thanks....
  3. WOW...I've been away for awhile, this has been an interesting read, but when the gloves come off they come off! I'm just curious what people thought of the Klipsch Palladium and Reference speaker cables, any thoughts? I'm using Kimber cable 8TC with my Heritage fronts and Monster 12 gauge in rears, and was wondering if anyone uses or has tried them and their opinion? Before a right cross comes my way I'll duck out right now......thanks
  4. Thanks jpbusa I appreciate it, I was thinking that when I saw the "Y" . As you mentioned I did find one of the Data Codes but what threw me off was the seller first stated was 1989, well those are Hersey II's, then they stated they were 1980(had to ask them to send me a pic). By using this data code it narrowed it down for me but the ##Y#### made me unsure as there are ###Y### on these speakers. The column below it has A as 1962 through Y as 1983 (as you mentioned). Thanks again.
  5. I'm abit troubled trying to ID the year of these Hersey's and whether they are true Hersey or are the Hersey II's. What is throwing me off is the "Y" in the middle of the serial number and they are sequential numbers. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it, a sale depends on whether they are Hersey I's or II's, person who has them states 1980. Thanks for the help.
  6. wow...all this time and no reply, for that I apologize as a member..... I used a Velodyne FSR-15 with mine, sounds great...but also have heard positive with fellow Heritage owners and SVS...your call... by this time you must have purchased a sub....how did it work out..... PS. welcome to the Heritage Clan....enjoy....
  7. I'm just glad you like Marantz...I own an SR18EX myself...Marantz finally cranked onto the HT market at home a few years ago and were solid players...my Reference piece may be close to 10 yrs old...but it cranked my Khorns by itself...and Hersey II's and KLFC7 centre with a Velodyne FSR18...for 5.1...no seperates here... PS. mind you I plugged 3 Marantz MA700 mono blocks for my fronts in after 3 months.....wow....
  8. This is an interesting read, and just to add my 1.2 CDN cents, I use to work at a highend audio store p\t, usually weekends and doing installs. I could set up a room for you and basically direct you anyway I wanted. It's how they manipulate the room and equipment, it's that easy. We were directed to "sell" the store product which provided the most return for their buck, but if I could, take you high end and see where you are with the amount of money you had, you're existing audio\video system, budget, financing, etc. As a Klipsch Heritage owner, I directed alot of people to Klipsch and got hell for it by not upselling them or not using the store "product". It was suggested to bring your own listening music, I agree, as an ex-salesman I had my music\tracks selected for what sounded better on which speaker I was demo-ing and used it as such. A good example, was the Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD in DTS, sounds awesome on pretty much any system. Yes, bring your own music, and make it a wide variety! Also, ask for the remote and play around with the A\V Reciever or Preamp\amp if seperates for your liking and sound enrichment, but be careful, they will probably stand there like a Hawk watching you. As for taking them home to test drive, up here most will not, especially chain stores(ie. bestbuy), but independents will, especially if your putting down $10,000+ on a system that could be their sale. I will say, the Klipsch sound does affect some peoples ears, I've seen it, they are that sensitive, and I then directed them to the likes of say Monitor Audio, nice speaker, easier on the ear without that WHAM against the wall feeling but clean and clear. good luck.
  9. Now this would be totally awesome to see, I hope it was enjoyed....
  10. Actually got mine off ebay, a sweet Klipsch sign I got from OC, Canada.
  11. I am asking the name of the drivers and manufacturer from 1999 to 01, when Klipsch was considering and DID cancel the Heritage line back then because of when this driver "maker" retired\left Klipsch and the last year of production (dated 01, I own them). There was a MAJOR revolt online and ask Klipsch and the forums as to why this cancellation and addios factor existed....they gave in and brought back the Heritage line, I appreciate it...thanks much..... PS. And not Al K's contribution....
  12. I'll just sat say as a Heritage owner....ENJOY....and thank your Dad in the process if he gave them to you......regadless of vintage....
  13. Sorry I have been off the website for awhile but I am "quite" interested as I use PS Audio power cords myself and Straightwire silver link interconnects. Thanks for the info on the Pioneer Kuro, I guess I have been missing out as I have only used a Monster HDMI 1000 interconnect with regular power cord and everything else with my audio gear. Thanks for the thread, great reading! PS. Just curious though as I use a Monster HTPS 5100 power conditioner\surge protector and plug into that, thanks.
  14. Hey CZ, to funny to read and congrats, welcome to the Velodyne family, subwoofers are what they make, and make they do! You got a great deal for $350, I found them to be the best timbre match for my Heritage after many moons of researching and sitting on the sidelines. Not bad for an "old school and vintage sub" eh?! I laughed when you said you have to dial it down, so did yours come with the remote control? Keep it by your side, you'll find yourself using the -minus(down boy) control alot', if you have carpet I would recommend some spiked feet for planting and keeping that beast in place, it does move around. It is big, but a true beast, as you mention house, in my HT pics my FSR18 with Khorns was in an "apartment", it was interesting watching the windows rattle...ha. You were bang on when you mentioned "musical", best subwoofer yet I have heard for strictly music, VERY clean, the Paradigm Servo 15 was another close one. The Velodyne HGS and DD subwoofers were out of my price range at the time, but I'm still tickled pink at this bad boy even if 10 yrs old. It's to bad Klipsch doesn't take posts like this to heart and provide us with a "true" Heritage matching subwoofer, now that would be KILLER! Congrats CZ, sit back and enjoy, I've never heard a bad word about Velodyne yet......
  15. I have been using a KLFC7 as my centre for Khorn fronts and Hersey II's rears for awhile, and mind you my room is only 12 by 15 and sweet spot is 7 feet back. I just bumped the A\V Receiver up on the centre when dialing in each speaker individually for calibration. From the many posts over the years I have read, ideally you want another Heritage for centre and timbre match, preferablly another Lascala or Belle, or even Hersey if you can accomodate it, I wish I could but obviously I can't. PS. MY pics are on page 5 of "show your HT thread", now minus the Toshiba 34" tube tv and a Pioneer 50" Kuro Plasma replacing it and the Velodyne FSR18 subwoofer has been downgraded to a FSR15.
  16. HA....thats funny....we've been asking Klipsch for years(since I joined) if they will ever compliment the Heritage line with a proper subwoofer, with a nudda, and I bet it goes back before my time, so we all keep dreamin.....some day....OH YES....some day....
  17. I was running a Velodyne FSR18 with my Khorns and Hersey II's and with my LaScala's I own a Velodyne FSR15 with no issues IMO, but TE is the subman on here, but for $300 for my FSR15 think I have a great sub with bang for the buck, sometimes it pays to be fruggle, just MO. PS. If you insist on Klipsch the RSW12 would be fine, the RSW15 is overkill IMO.
  18. I hear ya...parted with my girls as original father 2 yrs ago(married, born 93), fortunately had their brothers in LaScalas and Hersey II's to pull me through, all kidding aside, hope you are doing better and best to you.
  19. YOUR LUCKY THE EDMONTON OILERS AREN'T YOUR OPPONENT...AGAIN....[<)]
  20. they allowed svs and their owners that luxury years ago.....[H]
  21. I just want to say and being away from the forum for awhile, this thread I must reply. The answer is YES, why?! As a Heritage owner I am not worried about top end issues, maybe the lessor speaker line sales being legit for lower income people and online scams. My fault lies in with an Ebay auction I am dealing with right now. The "new" Klipsch earphones and cost from starting bids at $35US and buy it now at $279US....WHO DO I BELIEVE....Klipsch....online sellers....so what is bootleg...making the $3.99 headphone from Rat Shack pretty with Klipsch decals...who is Policing this...Klipsch...[<)]
