  1. Why has the suggestion of pro speakers continued when the OP specifically stated that they were not interested in the in their 2nd post? The behavior displayed in this thread is comparable to the behavior of forum members in garage sale ads. Which members are involved determines how far off track a thread is allowed to go. Forcing Pro Klipsch down Falcar's throat is not "helping" them. It was suggested, politely refused and then subsequently talked about for 2+ pages.
  2. The caveat on the ATI amp I will be using is that it is a 6012. I will be bi-amping and bi-wiring all 5 channels. I wanted a 5 or 7 channel amp with 200 wpc but I couldn't pass on this amp that I found locally. It was left over from a new home build that when south and is still new in box. Knowing ATI's reputation and my experience with the Outlaw I felt it's worth a shot.
  3. I'm not advocating Class D over A/B, that's just the setup I have now and have had recently. I do own an ATI amp that I am waiting to install into my small HT which is still in progress. I've owned an Outlaw Audio 7700 (also made by ATI) which I used on Forte 2s. It sounded great but I sold that when I bought a house which I didn't think could support a HT. 4+ years later and I am making a HT room . The HT will be 4 RB-75s and a RC-7 along with 2 Captivator 1400s. Should be up and running by late Oct. I think you will be very happy using the Monolith on LaScalas as well.
  4. I don't have a lot of experience using different amps with my LaScala's but I have really enjoyed the Class D powered receivers and integrated amps I have used on them. Panasonic SA-XR700, Pioneer SC-81, NAD 390DD. Everything has been very quiet for me. I do use RGPC power conditioners which may or may not help.....they don't seem to hurt.
  5. I currently have LaScala IIs running with a JTR Captivator 1400. Rap/Hip Hop sounds awesome on this combo, the sub literally makes my windows flex. I have had Cornwall IIIs but never used them with a sub. I liked them but they were always used at low volume no matter the music due to living in a condo at the time. You will be satisfied with LaScalas if that's the route you choose. They are also more visually appealing than Cornwalls in my opinion. If you are near Phoenix you are welcome to come hear them yourself.
  6. I've wanted to hear CF-3 or CF-4 for years but I have no desire to buy more speakers. What's wrong with me...
  7. That’s good. More money for speakers
  8. You always get what you pay for. Royal Pedic cutout. How’s the new mattress holding up so far?
  9. Lifeform mid-back executive chair. I found mine on craigslist for $400. Retail 2,000+. Its worth adding to the random items you may search for. Your back will thank you. My hospital uses Herman Miller Aerons which are fine but not as well built. This chair is probably around 40 lbs. The base and mechanism are stout
  10. This is big reason why I like working at a V.A. hospital. The rivalry is 'mostly' gone but the camaraderie remains and it extends between patients and staff as well.
  11. Thank you for the kind words Jerry, it was a pleasure meeting you. I'm glad to hear that you made it back home safely and I hope you enjoyed Sedona. Remember, I'm always happy to help out if you need anything in the future. I look forward to seeing pics of your man cave once its done.
  12. Hopefully DTO won. They mentioned that they are local o hopefully they won't have to pay shipping. $227 is a nice price!
  13. After seeing the pic with the grill off I'd hope the paint could simply be removed and the beautiful raw wood could be enjoyed again. Worst case to me would be having to use duratex which is far from a bad thing.
  14. If my experience is any help I have LaScala II's and I have used a Klipsch RSW-12 (12" with single passive 12), RT-10D(10" with dual passive 10s) and now a JTR Captivator 1400 (18" ported). The RT-10D is the best for music and is good for movies while, besides rap and hip hop, the JTR isn't as good for music but dominates on movies. The RSW-12 is fine just doesn't touch either of the others by comparison in my listening environment. I'd like to hear a RT-12D sometime.
  15. eBay auction ends Saturday afternoon. https://www.ebay.com/itm/KLIPSCH-KP-201-Klipsch-Professional-Speakers-very-minimal-use-midwest-chicago/153604141322?hash=item23c385310a:g:5iYAAOSw-A1dS5rv
  16. Just admiring these horns I saw listed on usaudiomart. https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649544696-jbltadaltec-bentwoodhorns/ Description Bentwoodhorns sapele mahogany 2 inch HF horn which is sand casted with sapele mahogany ,with JBL 2441 driver with original diaphragm . any 2 inch can be used have tried many TAD,JBL,ALTEC . LF is a great plains 416 crossover point is 650hz The flare of the horn is similar to a altec 210 or altec 211 cabinet but with 1 416 these are very efficient my klipsch horns which are 105 db don't come close maybe 108 which is like the altec 210 cabinet These mid bass horns go down to 50hz again much like a klipsch lascala The LF section is also sand casted totally dead which makes these extremely heavy , just the LF takes 3 men to lift. If you need more lows and don't have a quality sub I also have the 18 inch sub which can be purchased also with the same sapele mahogany it to is a horn which looks like a oversized klipsch khorn
  17. If Dean's advice doesn't fix your problem I have a Forte 2 crossover that came out of a working speaker that I would sell.
  18. My previous subs have been RSW-12 and RT-10D. The JTR is in another league altogether. The only comparison I can make would be when I lived in Japan I had a Nissan Silvia that made 300whp and was rear-wheel drive and then purchased a 530whp awd Skyline GT-R. Both the GT-R and the JTR were leaps forward in performance over what they replaced. The pressure the JTR creates in the house is simply insane. I plan on getting one more
  19. "Not sayin' this is the case here" Of course you are, otherwise you wouldn't bring it up in the first place.
  20. I ordered replacement ear pads for $6 off of ebay. They were terrible and I would've needed to use hot glue to fix them to the ring that snaps into the headphones. I threw them into the garbage follower by my M40s. It was a sad day. Bose over-the-ear headphones have been a far better purchase than the M40s were.
  21. Congratulations to both Mikes
