  1. Michael... You still have that pic(s) when we unloaded them from our trip to FL?? I loved that picture!!
  2. I did the analog outs in the Sony Blu Ray DVD player I have. It's outstaning, and let the DVD player do the formats for you. For those with analog inputs, this is a home run to keep your older gear too!
  3. Happy Birthday.... You mean a lot to me too! Enjoy the season and the days ahead.... It's gonna get interesteing for sure in 2010! LOL
  4. DVI is the HDMI of the Video feed. a hem.... Take the sound specs away and you have it. same thing.. again it will save you some money here.... And work too.
  5. I just wish they had analog audio outs for 7.1 too.
  6. If I can save the day here maybe??? If it is just the video feed, why not just send it over a DVI cable? Your not going to use your tv speakers anyhow are you? And it is cheaper too! Those of you with projectors also need to do this.. HDMI interface to DVI and off to your projector. Done Deal! Just a thought...
  7. Take a look at this video!! http://www.colts.com/sub.cfm?page=video&content=088a6fb4-a220-4238-b82b-c17ff5621727 Maybe he gets all fired up listening to great jams on the worlds best speakers!!!!! Rock On Reggie!!!! And Go Colts!!!
  8. Colts and Saints play and both be undefeated. Go Colts!
  9. For width, the golden room size for most is 18- 24 feet. (At least for K horns LOL) That said, anything will work, but.... you will get a bigger room feeling and really good separation, if it is the bigger size, especially with lower ceilings. FYI., mine is 17 x 30 really 17 x 23 with (I have speakers hidden in the false walls) 17 being the width. I love it, do not get me wrong.... Some of this is what speakers are you using too? I am also glad to see you are building it for your family with 4 seats and not 8- 16 LOL. I took a lot of peoples advice like your doing, because + 90% of the time it is just you .. just you and the wife and kids...(assuming you have 2 or less) So your building it for yourself... Good for you... any extra kids can watch a movie on the floor...LOL! Keep asking questions we will chime in.... Things like screen size... wire placement for 5.1 - 7.1 sub placement...room colors...carpet...all these things will come into play..
  10. my prayers to him now and his family as well.
  11. Thanks to everyone. It has been a heck of a year too! Thanks for keeping in touch, and thanks to the board for providing life long fantastic frindships too!
  12. I love mine. You will too. The key to what Trey has said if I can malke it simple. If you do not have a THX Ultra 2 pre amp, do NOT run it in THX mode. That should keep the record straight. Those with Sunfire pre amps will need a boost of some type. Look below to see what I did in my signature. It is amazing now..
  13. Your all wrong. You need the latest magazine full of graphs, and charts, and a big blind study test, and of course several ads in the magazine about it, too, complete with a price tag about that of a good luxury car! That's your choice! []
  14. Thanks everyone.. I am now 48..wow.. It sure does seem like time goes by quick... Still alive, watched Monsters vs Aliens with my kids... HOME RUN! A MUST MOVIE for effects really really good. Especially on Blue Ray OMG wow!!!!! Live your life to the fullest, it is the only life you have.. And last, to all my close KLIPSCH friends.. I live by this as well.... Faith, Hope, Truth, and Love. I never got into "Netflix." BUT, I have fallen in love with RedBox....
  15. Well...... they sound great with the THX amp n subs.. heheheheehe Sorry, too easy to plug here!
  16. That's like spending 200k on a HT room and putting in BOSE 101's without a sub and a older Technics stereo amp and calling it a HT. Or is it 190k on speakers and gear, all in a concrete unfinished basement.. Some of you are missing the point! I think it is about intigration of the "puzzle" of choices in gear and speakers. Add to that a decent room to start with that will give you superior results. Sure we all have money issues at some range to spend, but I agree with Travis. At some level for everyone, your really not gonna hear it. And an extra 200k can't possibly justify it too. (Well, for 99.99999999999% of the rest of us LOL.)
  17. 200 wpc is pretty normal in here... Give you headroom and dynamics too. That said, not all 200 WPC amps are created equal.
  18. Remember you can add the latest blue ray players to older pre amps if they have a 8 channel analog input capability too. In my case, I let the Sony BR DVD player do the sound codecs analog out, and pass it through to the Sunfire Pre Amp to the Sunfire Amp too. I used the HDMI to DVI connector to my projector for a fantastic picture. One thing I can say for sure is this, it really was a HUGE difference in sound on the Blue Ray depending on the movie and now I have the latest greatest etc., etc., without the big pocketbook expense of a new pre amp too. The blue ray player also plays my older DVD discs and CD's and they look and sound incredible. It's awesome!
  19. BC, Welcome to the forum. We all tend to learn and still make mistakes, too, from time to time as well. How do you like the Emotiva products? Are you thinking about using the Pre amp and Amps from Emotiva also? I saw your Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH has: Amplifier Output Details 110 Watt - 8 Ohm - THD 0.09 % - 7 channel(s) ( Surround ) That is a great start for sure.. The Elite products are very nice too. Most will say for HT you might need 200 WPC + for headroom, dynamics, and especially in a mid to bigger sized rooms when you want it loud too. That said, It looks as though your on the right track! Congrats!!
  20. I know that screen shot..Cream at the Royal Albert Hall right? hehehehehehe Looks awesome Travis.. []
  21. Yes, I agree... In time, people come and go on the foruum but the ones that love to share experieces come around and come back. I love to share the experience myself. Nothing better than bringing people over with no pre conceived notions and letting them get into a good to decent HT experience at my house. Are there better rooms? Sure... More expensive equipment with crazy wild speakers... sure... Then again those that have been here..... GRIN!!!!![] But day to day we as a family still enjoy the HT in my house everytime we use it. And that folks, is the bottom line. We use it and STILL get a kick out of it. Nothing better than amovie we saw in the Theaters just out or a new one we missed in Blue Ray to really get that OMG feeling!
  22. She's still not quite getting it. LOL. It's a start though.
