  1. Sloppy game yesterday but PA prevailed. I can not believe that the PA coach pitched to Jake Fromm in the 5th inning with a man on second and first base open. Just a two run blast but could have been costly. The announcers were saying that in the regular season play the opposing team always walked him.
  2. I have been watching this for many years. Yes it is amazing how well they play the game for their age and at times seem more fundamentally sound then some MLB players. Big game against Georgia today good luck I am pulling for PA in that one.
  3. Claudia, if you want to raise your budget look at the Klipsch XF-48s. They are no longer in production but they are still being sold new at several online sites. I recently bought a pair to make my wife happy. Although they do not sound as good as my Forte's or Chorus speakers(BIG box style speakers), they are very nice sounding speakers.
  4. If you do not want to build your own then I would suggest SVS. With your budget you can get one or even two; here is there site. http://www.svsound.com/products.cfm OPPS just reread entire thread see you already ordered. SORRY!
  5. Do they have to be new or would you consider used off of Craigslist? You can get Hereseys or Fortes used for less then your budget if you can find a pair.
  6. This would be in your budget http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/MARSR6004/Marantz-SR6004-110w-X-7ch-Home-Theater-Surround-Receiver/1.html
  7. Never made those craters in any of my records but had many a shirt with those round burn holes.
  8. Hi Kelly and welcome to the forum. I had a pair of CV D-9s that I powered with a Kenwood M2A amp at 220 wpc, all I can say is they rocked. I replaced them with a pair of Chorus IIs and never looked back.
  9. As for which sub, up to you and room size. I would check out SVS or HSU research very fine sub makers with great customer service.
  10. I say yes but get a very good sub to go with the La Scalas. I have Forte's and Chorus IIs and if a pair of La Scala's became available and I could trade with some cash added I would do it. The midrange horn on the La Scala is outstanding and the bass it puts out, though not very low, is more then solid.
  11. Matt that is a BEAST! I think Chorus II or KLF 30s for Fronts Hereseys in rear and look out neighbors. You have to be pleased with that purchase.
  12. Chiming in! What Matt heard was, as he said, Fortes in front and 5.5s in rear. I too would agree with Matt, they sounded great. It did take some time setting up the speakers to get it at an optimal sound dispersion. Also as Matt stated I have changed. I have Chorus IIs in front with the Forte's in the rear. This set up took even longer to get right and involved getting a volume switch to use on the Chorus IIs to limit their volume. It was frustrating for awhile but with lots of tweaking, I think it sounds damn good right now. To each his own and what works for some will not work for others.
  13. I once had Cerwin D-9s hooked up to Kenwood M2A 220wpc, the party was on, ROCK AND ROLL HOOCHIE CO0! [H]
  14. I have Chorus IIs but I am in the far south subs. If interested let me know, Ironsave will come make another trip to my humble abode.
  15. I too wanted to tell you the same. Enjoy every moment because before you know it your child will be off to college and then out on their own. Congrats!
  16. I too must say that for two channel sound, my 25+ year old Kenwood amp/Adcom pre, sound better then my Harman Kardon AV 3600. But I am more then pleased with the 3600's Home Theater sound reproduction.
  17. What do you know Genghis; your just a Khan. [:^)] [*-)]
  18. The sad part of this is this happens many times over. It is wasted government spending, of all kinds, that has our country in the predicament that it now finds its self in.
  19. Like I had told you earlier, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the sound. ENJOY
  20. Nice job Matt they look good. How long for the glue to "thoroughly" dry?
  21. Not sure on this Marantz, but if it was something of an earlier make like in the 70's, I would say it would be an improvement.
  22. That gave me goose bumps such a talent. I heard on the news last night, not sure if it is fact, Amy, Jimmy, Janice and Morrison all left us at the age of 27.
  23. WOW I did not realize how nice Pluto looks.
  24. As for a matching center I think the KLF-C7 would match the Forte II quite well being the the horns are very simular. As for the side surrounds any one ot the three RS-42, 52, or 62 depending on your budget. If price is no object the the RS-62s would be the way to go(But they are the BIGGEST).
  25. Here is a thought. Buy the RF-62s set them up with a ghost center. By ghost center I mean to set up your system with no center. Program your Onkyo to show no center which will send the center channel signal to the left and right speakers. Then when you get enough money get the RC-62II. Good Luck and happy listening.
