Who the hell would even have the time or interest to figure out the engineering requirements of a "Death Coaster"???
-
Yes but I was suggesting speakers which could keep up level wise or out play the CW3. A Forte 2 would be an option if you are not looking for CW output level(s). Forte II Output Frequency Response: 32Hz-20kHz(+-)3dB SENSITIVITY: 99dB @ 1watt/1meter POWER HANDLING: 100 watts maximum continuous (500 watts peak) MAX ACOUSTIC OUTPUT: 119dB SPL NOMINAL IMPEDANCE: 8 ohms TWEETER: K-75-K 1" (2.54cm) Polymer diaphragm compression driver HIGH FREQUENCY HORN: 90(o)x40(o) Exponential Horn MIDRANGE: K-61-K 1.5" (3.81cm) Phenolic diaphragm compression driver MID FREQUENCY HORN: 90(o)x40(o) Tractrix® Horn WOOFER: K-25-K 12" (30.48cm) Fiber-composite cone active / KD-15 15" (38.1cm) Fiber-composite cone passive CROSSOVER FREQUENCY: HF 7,000 Hz<br>LF 650 Hz ENCLOSURE MATERIAL: Medium density fiberboard construction (MDF) ENCLOSURE TYPE: Bass reflex via passive radiator DIMENSIONS: 35.4" (89.92cm) x 16.5" (41.9cm) x 12.25" (31.1cm) WEIGHT: 67 lbs. Done. I see you are now momentarily in the lead. Best regards, John -
The Academy is the center channel speaker that best integrates with the Extended Heritage line. Chorus series, forte series, etc. Best regards, John

Bob Crites also sells a replacement woofer for the forte & forte II Best regards, John
-
Derrick; Just remove the grills and look at the diaphragm through the tweeter and squawker horns. If you see a shiny silver diaphragm through either, than almost certainly titanium. Best regards, John

forte II, Chorus II or CF4 will meet all your expectations along with change in your pocket! Best regards, John -
Glad to hear your enjoying the new crossovers. Now take it to the next level with titanium diaphragms in the tweeters and squawkers. Completely reversable if you dont like the upgrade, Best regards, John

He and Peter Cushing starred in over 20 Hammer horror Films together. I liiked him the best in 50's to 70's Hammer Horror. Both were true gentlemen, the likes you rarely see these days. Both Christopher and his father were war heroes. Christopher was in the English Special Forces during WWII, and even hunted Nazi's for a peiod of time for the English government. Best regards, John

KG 5.2 vs Chorus II (or Forte/Forte II)
John Chi-town replied to brad0112's topic in General Klipsch Info
Joel Simple repair. The dust cover that is pushed in will have no effect on the sound. Just repair the 3 small holes. Klipsch no longer manufactures the passive radiator for the Chorus II or Forte II. So you would need to find a pair on the used market. Personally I would wait for a nicer pair. There are a beautiful pair of Forte II for under $600.00 in the alerts section. INMHO a better balanced speaker even more so than the Chorus II, and it digs deeper. Either the Chorus II or Forte II will be a big step up from the 5.2's. I would recommend you stick with 2nd version of eithe for the tractrix squawker. Best regards, John -
I agree 100% with Opus's advice. Forte II INMHO has a better midrange with the tractrix horn. I have owned mine for close to 25 years. Allows for a wider soundstage, and less off axis listening. Unless you have a subwoofer in the equation, you will probably be disappointed in the lack of bass with any Heresy version. I am not a bass head by any means. Ray Delguado, excuse spelling of Rays last name if I butcherd; was the head engineer on the extended Heritage line that the Quartet, Forte, and Chorus line fall into. Ray is one very respected engineer. You owe yourself a listen to the forte II and chorus II versions before pulling the trigger on the Heresy. If nothing else it will only validate your decision to purchase the Heresy. Best regards, John

Oldtimer. you are probably right regarding average price. When I bought mine new in 92, I bought in conjunction with some earlier Adcom seperates, than what I own now. Pulled the receipt and my clear oak finished forte II sold for $1,000.00 a pair at United Audio back in the day. My actual sale price was $850.00 for the pair when discounted with the other components I bought at the time. So perhaps the oiled finish models were $1200.00 LP?

INMHO a pair of forte II in this shape, regardless of finish color are worth every penny of the current asking price. Sold on average for a $1,000.00 a pair in early 90's. A speaker that will last a lifetime and among Klipsch's best designed/balanced speakers ever. What else comes close at $600.00 a pair? I must admit my opinion may be biased since I pulled mine fresh out of the carton back in 92........ Best regards, John

Best Buy as well.... When I bought about a year ago their sale prices were as good as any on the internet. Best regards, John

John Chi-town replied to koba's topic in Garage Sale
How do you plan on getting them to the Ukraine? I would check Craigslist in NJ, NY area. Shipping could be a deal breaker to Ukraine unless you have a couple grand set aside for shipping. Best of luck in your search. John -
