  1. We were posting simultaneously. Yea that would way more than cover it.
  2. Do you know the woofer's nominal loading? 8 ohms? If so then a 5 watt 8 ohm resistor. 4 ohms? Then a 5 watt 4 ohm resistor.
  3. No it would be to make sure there is a load on the passive crossover at the woofer output to protect the crossover. A passive crossover network is just that a "network". Without the load on any section of the "network" it is a different network. Theoretically the active crossover has removed any low frequency energy from entering the mid and hi frequency amplifier and then the passive crossover. But as you are tuning and tinkering with the active crossover you may send low frequency energy through the mid and hi frequency path that is below the low to mid frequency crossover point of your passive crossover. I would just not want that low frequency output energy to not have a load. Like I said I'm pretty anal.
  4. I would put a small wattage power resistor of the ohmic value of your woofers that you are removing from your passive crossover on the woofer output of your passive crossover. Did that make sense? But I am pretty anal about these things.
  5. You want to do this x3? Sure, why not? Frequencies shown are of course variable depending on your set up.
  6. Don't use any uh(micro henry) capacitors
  7. Yea, we'll all be guessing on a 47 year old unit. That's why i said "assume" . But certainly if he wants to pursue this the closest standard value should work.
  8. How about 470uFD 35V instead of 500. 500 is not a standard value. I am assuming this is in the power supply circuit.
  9. Is this a problem? I know back in the day aluminum wire was used in houses and over time caused fires in homes because the dis similar metals at CONNECTIONS would tarnish and build up resistance, heat up until a fire started.
  10. Ok so you have proven that it is not your receiver(and of course not your speakers). To really continue further you are going to need some dummy plugs. I am assuming your equipment is unbalanced. This is a power point presentation given by the president of Jensen Transformers that explains very well what is probably goin on. https://centralindianaaes.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/indy-aes-2012-seminar-w-notes-v1-0.pdf
  11. Happy Birthday Bodcaw boy. Which anniversary of your 39th birthday are we celebrating?
  12. OP, are you talking about beautiful "hardwood" (I want to show it off) horn? Or MDF? Me thinks the hardwood variety will be harder to come by. And more $$$. And may not perform as well. But Happy Hunting.
  13. So is the noise level acceptable to YOU with no inputs connected? Also what receiver is it? It has other inputs that don't cause the problem?
  14. Did you do this? What was the result? Sorry if I missed it.
  15. A table saw in the bathroom? To all my Klipsch brethern, I'm a clown if you ain't figured it out yet. I really try to keep things light
  16. My goal is to find a switchplate that will accommodate 2 switches and one GFCI plug on a 3 gang box. It seems if I go with a 3 hole decora cutout and rocker switches I can accomplish it. I couldn't find a 3 hole plate that was black and hat one GFCI cutout and 2 small conventional switch cut outs. Yep, just go with "Decora" style switches and the GFCI outlet and a three gang "Decora" switchplate. It will work and look nice too, well INHO. You could even have one of the switches lighted as a mini night light in the bathroom
  17. Wow! Switch plate questions. I think someone is getting close to DONE on their bathroom remodel
  18. Ok,so this is a brand new system and has done this from the get go. Unplug all the inputs so you just have the speakers hooked up to the receiver. Can you turn up the volume and not have the Hum/noise? Of course if you turn it way up you will have a little residual noise. Anyone that says there system has "no noise" is A) deaf or B ) A liar
  19. Bravo! Some truer words have not been written. About audio that is.
  20. I love it, the old Bob Pease method. Did it ever work? What happened right before it stopped working?
  21. If you really want to fix this scientifically go to Jensen Transformers website and read App Notes 4, 6 and 7. Oh heck read'em all if you want. http://www.jensen-transformers.com/application-notes/ You may have to register to read them but it is no big-e. They have never sent me any email or spam ever.
  22. Yea but does it make you poope?
  23. Carl, looking very S-W-E-E-T. Speckles and all
