  1. Hmmm.. Was this the ad placed on 10/23? I had contact with this person a week ago and he said they were sold. Not too unhappy, I have a pair of them collecting dust in my spare bedroom. He will enjoy them..They are a great sounding speaker. JJ
  2. My guess the ones you saw on eBay are from Bob "BEC" Crites. He's a member here. He would be the first one I would go to get new ones. Bob also "refreshens" crossovers. He did a pair for me ad they made a world of difference. There are others on this board (Deang and ALK) that can offer other alternatives. JJ
  3. They were hitting it hard in WI. Their messages were long and numerous to the point that I was missing important calls due to my answering machine being full. We have two canidates warring it out locally, so instead of having a debate, they used the automated phone calls to do their bashing of each other...and I picked more flyers in my yard than I did leaves. JJ
  4. K-Horns!!! That's was I'm using. But I should confess that the K-Horns also pull 2-Channel duty. I've used RS-3's, RF III's, KLF 30's, and now the over-kill K-Horns as surrounds and the best has been the K-Horns. But knowing/understanding that this isn't practical, I would have to agree with the masses here.. 1. Cornwalls and than 2. Heresy's and than 3. maybe 2 or 3 more Academy's? JJ
  5. ...Those darn flying monkey's still give me the hebbie jebbies to this day!!![] Thanks Mike!!!!! No sleep for me tonight! [6][] JJ
  6. If memory serves me correctly, this Cornwall was listed back in September..Pulled by the seller. edit: Found it in my eBay watch list http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=190025881382&rd=1&rd=1
  7. I have a standard '78 cornwall that I have laying on its side on a stand that is about 3 feet off the floor. For what I'm using it for (Rear center channel) it works alright. If I were using it as a center speaker, I would like to have the driver alignment like a vertical cornwall. I'm very interested in "Popbumpers" thought of maybe..(not speaking for you, Pop) of making a conversion kit. All I can say is give it a try....YMMV.. JJ P.S. I'm not sure if the standard cornwall has the same structural build as a Vert, but keep an eye on cabient for any stress. This may or may not be a problem.
  8. Nice choice, Wuzzer!! I've had one of those "Water heater" sized subs for 6 yrs and still enjoying it. Enjoy!!!! JJ
  9. Trey: Not that I have an issue with it, but in speaking with you last night, I know that you guys are taking this to an outside entity to have the duplication process done. Perhaps, they can re-author the DVDs to include BOTH the letterboxed 4:3 as well as the native 16:9 Wide Screen versions on the same DVD? The reason I bring up this point is because I have viewed the 16:9 version on a 4:3 screen and the picture looks somewhat distorted (talk and skinny) and it cuts the outer edges off the image which affects the field of vision and cuts off some of the text. If folks can live with this, then that makes this a moot point. Please do whatever the masses prefer. Thanks for all of your efforts! -Glenn I kind of like the tall & skinny look.. It makes me look fit and trim in the DVD. []
  10. and you will have to refrain from saying... YOU DID WHAT??!!?? when someone commits a major faux pau. [] JJ
  11. Bob mentions in the listing that you need some "Soldering Skills" @#$%%.. that rules me out..I only have ."num chuck skills..Computer hacking skills..Bow hunting skills.." All kidding aside..I was wondering when you were going to start offering DIY kits on eBay. A good move on your part and good for us that are to lazy to go looking for the correct parts. JJ
  12. ahhh...Just buy both of them!! [] I was in the same boat as you are. Merlin..Peach...Peach..Merlin.. Went with the Peach because of the HT by pass and more inputs. I finally got to see a Merlin up close at this year's Pilgrimage and it sure is a nice unit. Didn't get a chance to listen to it because the "decible" boys had it WAY!!! too loud for me in the listening room..(You know who you are!!![] ) Good luck in your choice..You want be disappointed. JJ
  13. I agree!!! Merlin or the Peach. Doesn't Mark offer a DIY Preamp now? JJ
  14. Congrats Michael!!!!! BTW..I'm having trouble with my ....[]
  15. Could it be that the one of the "Tubes" in your head causing the problem? [] JJ P.S. From now on I will leave the comic relief in the capable hands of Fini
  16. AMY!!!!!!! Trey needs to be sent to the corner.. He's teasing and disrupting the Forum!![]
  17. Vertical Cornwall kits, is my poor attempt at a guess!!! JJ
  18. I agree with TKD!!!! Even though the Cornwalls replaced the KLF-30's, I'm still using a C-7 and the RS-3's for surrounds in my HT. I will be experimenting with an "ALL" heritage HT shortly. (I have to find a way to incorporate a pr of K-Horns, 3 Cornwalls, and a pr of Belles). Madness...Sheer Madness!!![] Just my .03 worth... and of course, YMMV. JJ
  19. Michael: I know very little about photography and what differentiates (sp?) a good picture from a great picture, but I have never seen a picture like the one with the projector. It's so life like that it made my eyes hurt (just as if I was standing there in person and staring directly into the light) Very fine work, my friend!!! ....and Roger, your HT is just OK. [] JJ
  20. You can add me to this list as well. I have a single '78 cornwall that is "beggan" to go vertical!!! Oh by the way, Nice Work Popbumper!!!! JJ
  21. I've used this product with great success. BUT that was on small and not very deep impressions. JJ edit: This was suppose to bring the picture that Wrench722 has in his post.
  22. I will glady donate some "Green" to help offset any costs involved in distributing the DVD!!! JJ
