  1. Everybody has an opinion... I have had the RF-3's, RF-63's the F-30's and now my current Rf-62 II's. I think the RF-62's sound better than my old RF-3's. I'd even put the F-30 over the RF-3's in terms of performance and looks. I also prefer the copper dust covers over the black ones, I think they look 100x's better. Like I said, everybody has an opinion...
  2. Reaction Audio is also in the middle of moving and they are offering some pretty good deals on their 15" subs. They are a much newer company than HSU, SVS, PSA and Rythmik though, that turns some people off.
  3. Sadly I agree, it's almost like what Chevrolet did to their "SS" vehicles in the 90's. Almost ruined the long standing heritage. What's with no HDMI? It's like 2003 all over again...
  4. I know most guys here want everyone to go with 15" + woofers but we all don't have that luxury. Besides, many 12" subs are now capable of very good output below 20hz. If I was you, I would order one SB-2000 and one PB-2000 and return the one you you like the least and order another one of the one you likes the best. sVS has a great trial/return policy. I am sure you will be very happy with either model vs those older Velodynes.
  5. A single PB-2000 will have about the same output as dual SB-2000's.. If you are mainly using the system for HT, I would go with dual PB-2000's over dual SB-2000's any day of the week, unless you are size restricted. Outlaw also is selling their LFM-1 EX for $599 shipped right now. Not trying complicate things, just another very solid option.
  6. Love the video youth. Thanks for sharing. You need to score another maple RSW-15. Duals in that room would probably make you VERY happy. Beautiful setup. I will be buying a home within a year, a dedicated HT room is a must have.
  7. I miss my 63's dearly. This is a fantastic price, really wish you weren't across the country. GLWS!
  8. I might have to re-think my Reaction Audio purchase...
  9. Those are some great looking subs! If I was wearing a hat, I would have tipped it to salute you and your talents.
  10. I saw those subs listed on ebay earlier today. I really like the compact looks.
  11. Good choice on chair! I just got my Eames replica chair last week and I love it.
  12. Palladium 9 channel all driven by McIntosh amps and 4 Funk Audio 18.3's to match the beauty of the Palladium's. That's also just the guest house, I will have to really think about the main theater room....
  13. How large is the room? I am afraid that your budget is a little low, especially if you listen at loud levels. DIY is probably your best option if you are handy.
  14. The newest Hercules. Had serious potential but the lion scene totally ruined it for me. Tomorrow I plan on watching the new Star Trek, Into Darkness. I have high hopes, I loved the first one.
  15. Nice and clean looking system oldred. That new stand fits everything perfectly.

    Peek-a-boo

    Such a cool project!
  17. Congrats on the purchase. This is going to be one MASSIVE upgrade. Keep us posted!
  18. Reaction audio messages me and asked if I wanted to be one of the first "beta testers" for their new sub after a post I made on AVS. I don't think they know how limited my audio knowledge really is;) But I am more than happy to be one of the first to test this little monster out.
  19. Looks like I am going to be a beta tester for a new Reaction Audio sub. Rumor has it that it will be a small, dual 12" sub with 2.5" excursion in a 18" cube. Sounds like a stout unit. I will try one and if I love it, I will order a second;)
  20. I'm wondering if you could use an amp then? i'm guessing you are talking about the 7ii's start to sound crappy? i'm betting they are starving for more power im thinking it is my computer. i recently formatted the drive and reinstalled windows. it started to sound worse then. used hdmi sound, but optical sounds better, music with tons of bass (ie bass i love you) when super low frequencys hit then the tweets really start distorting. thought it was internal crossovers, but blu ray movies sound good. then again, i dont have that song on blu ray. it is a flac file that is 51mb large. i cant put my finger on what the problem is, wish there was some way at looking at the output sound waves to see if it is clipping or the hk is clipping. its really got me at my whits end. Bass I Love You can seriously damage your speakers if you are listening at reference levels, especially if they are not receiving a proper amount of clean power. Based off your signature, they are not..
  21. AV123 and Epik sure did end up screwing a ton of people over but I have been following the Reaction Audio threads and it sounds like they have their stuff together, they are even offering free shipping. PSA is offering a 45 day free trial with free shipping right now.
  22. If $1000 is your maximum budget, I would pick up a PSA XV15se or a a Reaction Audio PV 15x. If you could bump the budget up to around $1,200, there are even better options out there. I am going to agree with Scrappy though, DIY is probably your best bet with "stupid high listening levels" and a $1,000 budget.
  23. If you can get $700 for all 3 subs, are you willing to add money to that? If so, how much are you comfortable spending?
