Mine is being rebuilt by Craig as we speak , I can`t wait . As clean as that look`s Try try try to keep it . Clean ones are hard to come by .

I for one like to have the hard copy , both c-d and the black gold we all love . all 1200 cds I have are on my I pod . I use it on my bike and on vacation or any place but my home set ups . It`s great to see the album on a come back .

Very cool guy`s he will be missed .

Thanks to all , This all started from a dead battery . I have tried all that every one has suggested , but I have not bought the V.a.g. - com program yet . That is next , but first I thought I might talk to a v-w guy That`s in the know . It is a throttle re- learn problem . I will up date when I get it fixed . I like fixing thing `s for better or worse .

I can`t clear code 1545 and reset the throttle body .From what I have read I may need to re down load the the program from a lap top . The car runs bad and has no power .

thank you, already did that . I need more info than it gives for clearing and resetting . It didnt work so I may need to buy some soft wear for my laptop or maybe A trip to vw for reset and reprogram .

1999 passat throttle body engine code 1545 on a 2.8 l v6 , any v-w guys out there .

Thank`s to all of you , I can`t wait to hear it with my belles . Like I said before love my mcintosh sound . But its also cool keeping the old gear alive, And from what all of you have said I think I`am going to like it a lot. Old guy`s, old gear. old ears. still sounds great .

Thank`s Gorm , Until I know more and listen. I will go with how craig sets it up . I hope all or most of the tubes are good , It came out of a console unit so maybe low hours . but also 50 years old ,

Thanks russ69 , I would use the 500 with my belles or chorus 2` s . I just feel the need to try tubes . like I may be missing something . or is it just another never happy - chasing the sound thing or gear collecting thing . I don`t know ? .............

I`am looking to get into something tubie, with out spending mcintosh money . Would a 500c be a keeper if I sent it to craig for full treatment . Have ss mc stuff now and love my sound . but have read a lot of your guys stuff about tube gear and klipsch . Am I missing something or is it just a different flavor thing . Thanks

I have dave`s horns and dean`s super AA`s in my belles . I love them and would never go back or sell them . stock tweeter , stock driver . near field 8 foot triangle, low volume . room 12 x 14 .

I`am in sounds like a cool idea . I`am in new lenox .

My walnut belles 1000.00 even . But than I had to have dean super AA`s , and dave`s horns . ahhhhhhh over 1000.00 now . but they sound great .
