  1. Congrats, and don't forget the photos!
  2. Sergey, I'm sort of an expert on Scott amps and your LK-72 is very similar to my own 299C - and you can't use the newer EH or JJ 7591 tubes because they are bigger than the original 7591's and won't fit. You therefore have to go with original 7591 or 7591A's - which are physically smaller. If you have the LK-72B amp (which is similar to the 299D) there is plenty of room for the EH and JJ tubes. Hope this helps. Steve
  3. What make and model amp do you need these for? (This is actually a very important question)
  4. I agree, I just don't see the need for 1200 watts, unless you have bose speakers?
  5. I've had planned on ordering a pair of Klipschorns for the 12' x 15' room, and these Jubes would seem to overwhelm that space. At least that's what I thought. Cask05, are you saying the Jubes would not overpower that room?
  6. Would a room 12' x 15' x 10' high be large enough for them?
  7. Once you listen to Klipsch, no description is necessaryUntil you listen to Klipsch, no description is possible.. ...................Beautifully said, that's one to remember!
  8. Almost had me ......................almost.
  9. Fantastic speakers (but you knew that!) and to my mind - walnut finish a big plus!!!
  10. Dr Morbius: Love to pit a refurbished HH Scott amp against Jolida. Wonder who has the better output transformers?...................................................................... Go with ur gut on that one........................................................................................................................................................ My gut says Scott, as long as NOS Valves works his magic on it!
  11. For my next surround system I'll most probably go Marantz. I've got Arcam now (for the last 9 years) and it's pricey, along with Focal speakers. Like I said, my next system is Marantz and Klipsch. For 2 channel I'm staying with my HH Scott amp and Klipsch Heritage.

  13. Yea, I didn't catch that at first - Whoa!
  14. Today high power amplification is readily available along with small loudspeakers that have fairly low distortion. The problem is that these speakers play well in a small room, but are not sufficient for use in a larger space. Certain manufacturers make larger speakers with decent quality sound that will work well in larger rooms. A pair of those loudspeakers sell for $55,000 and sound no better than a pair of Khorns. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a friend who has Krell amps (250 watts) with Focal speakers - I forgot the model but they cost between $55,000 to 60,000 for the pair and when he finally came over and heard my Scott 299C (25 watts) with my Cornscala's .................. well, you should have seen the look on his face when I played the opening part of "The Mysterious Island" by Bernard Herrmann {the 90's digital remake} He truly believes in Klipsch now.
  15. The bass player for the Irish band U2 is Adam Clayton. I find no reference to any band nemed 2U. Bruce ------------------------------------------------- Keep looking Bruce, he's been with 2U for 6 years now, and last month they headlined in Abu Dhabi.
  16. Uhh, just wondering - how loud do you need your Cornwalls to play? And what do you consider low wattage tube amps? I could understand those 2 watt flea amps, if that's what you mean - but I think you have too much power with the Krell, and believe me I know all about the Krell! Now I have a pair of Cornscala's - similar to your Cornwall's and I drive them with a 25 watt Scott 299C amp which is 1/10 the power of your Krell. Using a sound meter about 10 feet from my speakers (about where I sit) If I set the volume anywhere over 7 (OUT OF 10) I WILL DAMAGE MY HEARING! I usually listen, depending on the level of the recording of a CD at about 3.5 to 5.5 on the volume knob, which is pure heaven! Also I didn't spend $2000 on my amp - got it on ebay and had it redone by Craig at NOS VALVES and altogether I spent well under $700 for a fantastic amp. So, to sum up, I believe you have too much power for your speakers. Anyone chime in if you think I'm wrong. PS - my brother Denis who is a bass player for 2U, or U2 - always mix them up - came to listen to my set-up and had to turn the volume to 6 to - as he said - "really hear it", but I had to leave after a few minutes as it was hurting my ears. But he did become a huge Bernard Herrmann fan when I played him a few CD's. LOL!
  17. Sorry, I couldn't help - but I'm a tube man myself!
  18. First off, you have to let us know what kind of speakers you are using with the tube amp. Remember, with tube amps the more efficient the speaker the better.
  19. I also concur.............very nice!
  20. At least one looks to be in good shape!
