  1. Sealed or not, its all in the design. Some are designed for ported vs none ported Vs passives Radiators. I've only ever had two subs, KSW115, and now a KPT684. I cant really compare the two, they are completely different. But, with a larger Sub, it moves more air, and i think you will be happier with that Vs a smaller sub 10 inch or 12 inch. I prefer the larger Radiator in my sub. Older Music didnt really have much LF in the track, where as newer music has lots of LF in the tracks. I'm currently running a 2.1 with my Jubilee's and 684. Now we need to talk Direct Radiator, Vs horn loaded sub. [Y] +1 for Subs even for 2 channel.
  2. I just went back to check you budget, Cornwall's for sure. no Question...i might even save my cash and splurge on La Scala's... Spend all your cash on the speakers, and get a Sub later...
  3. I have to be honest here, i havent really given much chance to anything other than Hertiage and now the Cinema line. Its all about the horns for me. With "bookshelf" speakers, they are just that, not really meant for a big sound stage. It depends on what you want, and by the sounds of it Bookshelf isnt going to cut it for you. I bought my first set of Cornwalls in 1988, and just sold them 2 years ago. With Hertiage, you cant go wrong. I've heard alot of good things about the Reference line, but can not attest to anything. i have not heard them. If you could afford and have space get the Cornwall II's hands down, if not then get the Chorus II's or Forte II's, i'd go with all of these over the Heresy's for sure because of the Lower end. With all that said, if i were you, i'd stick with the Hertiage line for sure. they just dont make them like they used to... my 2 cents... Not sure where you heard this, but i cant say thats true... Some of Klipsch's best speakers are ported, and also not ported. Its all in the design. Probably not.
  4. Grow it slowly, buy what you can afford....buy the best you can afford at that time.
  5. I wouldnt worry about that to much, you'll have a chance to hear them before you buy. These will last a lifetime if they are taken care of. you'll be alot happier with the Heresy i think. I bought Heresy's back in 98, they look brand new when you take the grill off. they have been well taken care of.
  6. I was also just thinking KG2's or KG1.5's if you wanted something smaller.
  7. Yes, for $400 you can get a pair of Heresy's. Big(ish) bookshelf speakers.
  8. It must start with a great set of Klipsch speakers. [Y]
  9. Regardless of what you do, That is one cool space. Not sure if the Horns would be good here...
  10. So apparently i have to get with the program here...this could really fix up my Wire problems.... but with my Stupid receiver, my dumb TV, my Ps3 is the onlything that smart around here...
  11. Fritz, just abandon the project, and send them to me, case closed, problem solved. []
  12. Cool thread man, i really need to just get off my butt and build one. maybe this winter. Dayton Dirver i think i read?
  13. Thats one nicely finished Tuba you go there mister. is there a build thread for it? I have the plans, but have not tried it out yet. What made you make this vs one which was wider? i heard wider was better?
  14. This sounds like a real interesteing project...hmmmmm
  15. So basically, its a heresy with no tweeter, rolling off at the high end of the midhorn?
  16. Agreed. If your looking for a deep sub, Spud or Tuba maybe...
  17. 8422682 1984, week 22, #682 i think. i have never seen or heard of a Heresy 2 way either...
  18. Not sure man, my Thorens TD145 doesnt have a network address. LOLing. Do they all connect using a wifi connection? if so, you should be able to put the ip address, or mac address of the devices in the white list. Smart TV, it likely has a wifi router built in maybe? not really up on those. inside the Samsung, there should be a place to turn on the wifi. Does your smart TV automatically recognize new devices or new connections?
  19. It did not come with a Grill or a badge, those were made....badge was purchased off the forum by other members.
  20. How do you like that Sub....Turbox? Is it a real room shaker in the subsonics? It does down to 25Hz no probs. below that it falls off. Its more Sub that i need, powered by a crown xti1000. its an evil unit. it moves alot of air for sure.
  21. Currently watching Walking dead season 1...
  22. I bought the tuba plans, have not go around to building yet. I also have the spud plan i think.
