  1. I have been thinking a little more about building a custom cabinet for a centre channel. I was looking at the belle bottom to see what could be done with it. I was thinking about a couple modifications to the bass bin to allow some horns to be installed on the face of the cabinet, ie a 510 and 703. the important pieces to this are obviously the horn flare. its easy to keep the same dimensions(I think). I've changed the bin a bit which will add more volume to the cabinet. I think that if needed I could reduce the internal volume of the cabinet to match the same as the original. Thoughts, will this work? I would mount the 510 and 703 on the face of the newly modified cabinet.
  2. Yes I agree with this. I also agree with dtel that its likely on its last legs. I prefer the digital medium.
  3. Sounds like it could be the woofer. Get and ohmmeter, and measure the resistance of the woofer as well. A sure fire test would be to remove the woofer from the good speaker and put it into the one your having problems with.

  7. Ah yes, you are correct sir. Y2Y1 = 2nd digit of year, 1st digit of year

  9. Having an HLS1802 inf your living room isn't intrusive...who said that...after all its only about 6x4x3.
  10. Mine says forum veteran, that doesn't mean I know a lot...I hope im not fooling you...
  11. question, what effect would increasing the height of the la scala bin have on the sound? keeping all of the other dimensions except height.
  12. So I've frankenstein'd together a different centre channel for now. La Scala bottom, 402, and a 510 three way. Sounds good, just not sure how I can build something with a clean look.
  13. Is that the internal volume or the external volume of the cabinet? The internal volume of a 904 is right at about 15,600 cu in by the way... Yes internal volume.
  14. Fair enough, and good point. I'd like to find a way to incorporate the 402 for sure. I also though about a Belle bottom as well. If I remember correctly the Belle might have a lower profile than the La Scala?
  15. I bought mine from American Cinema Equipment. ask for Spencer Chao.
  16. Yeah, my problem is that I know what I need(yeah right...a need), but there is nothing around that will fit my space and needs...thus a custom build.
