  1. I'm not saying to eliminate Sports from collegiate programs, I'm just saying that education should come first, before anyone is allowed on the field. Unfortunately atheletes are given a free ride in school and it is a shame that Sports takes precidence over education....again it is all money driven.
  2. They will probably remove any mention of Paterno ever being associated with the College. It may even come to the State College losing acreditation (sp)......It is a shame that such so called Educated people can be so stupid.....It was ALL about the Money and Ego's.....They should eliminate Sports from educational programs compltely. Wehn you can graduate college and not be able to spell Cat....something is wrong...!
  3. fini, I am with you on an explination of the differences. Also, are there copies of the original R to R Tapes available anywhere?
  4. Schu, Had you said "Here are a couple of Raster images of some of my AitoCAD designs", I would have never raised the question, You have, in the past, made some post, that were difficult (for ME) to understand. Again, my main question was: If you designed them in AutoCAD, why did you need to digitize them unless you were tracing them INTO AutoCAD? That is all. I am truly sorry for any confusiion and nothing was meant to take away from your work. Your designs are beautiful...! Are they Tapestrys or some type of wall decorations. I asked because you said they were 13 feet in size. Yes, there is really NO limit, as to what you can do in AutioCAD, as it is one of the most versitile programs out there. 200i was one of my favorite versions. Again, your designs are Artistically excellent.....! I stick more with straight lines and angles as I am certainly NO Artist. You clearly have a talent that I will never have, but I can draw a mean stick figure....![] W. C.
  5. I forgot to mention, it was quite funny that he took Lombard (Supposedly the world's crookedest street) going UP rather than down. Yes, It would be a real trip to take a lap or two in that car.
  6. Jeff, They usually do "Shoots" like this on weekends. The crews are out of frame and after the car passes, They remove the barricades and allow regular traffic to flow. Only the course is restricted to regular traffic and they take great pains to keep vehicles and the public "Out of Frame". Not really much of an impact to normal traffic and it takes great cooperation with the local Police. The permitting for something like this takes much longer than the shoot and it usually cost a great deal for the extra Police and City workers that are involved, who are usually getting double time....... I was stationed at The Presidio when they shot Bullet. That was quite fascinating....!
  7. Dave, Please, I certainly know the difference............I don't think you read the above post at all...... W. C.
  8. Another Timeless and Brilliant post from our friend....................!
  9. Mineral Spirits and finish it off with Watco Natural.......You can certainly use 4/0 Steel Wool. If you do the entire cabinet with Watco you will have a beautiful finish. Also you can test your proceedure on the back side next to the crossover. Give it a try...you will like it.
  10. Schu, Neither of those are AutoCAD files. They are raster images in JPEG format. Are you saying that you traced this design into AutoCAD? If you designed it in AutoCAD, what would be the need to Digitize it, you would already have the vector file? Your post raises so many questions..........[*-)]
  11. "One Step Ahead...Dave"....I love it.....!
  12. You can also find replacement Caps at Mouser, Solen or any number of Electronic Supply houses. Bob is also a very good resource for Cap replacement. There are many options, that are available to you, to find replacement Caps.
  13. Evidently NOT......!! The OP on the Belles took a considerable beating from two Forum members, who had absolutely no interest or business even sticking their respective noses in it. They are like Pack Animals jumping in for the Kill with their false assumptions. It is a true shame that some people sit behind their computer screens and feel like some type of gods on everything Klipsch. The high post count only goes to show that they have nothing better to do with their time, than sit there, criticize and make false accusations on unfounded information. They forget that they would not have even known about the Belles, unless they read the thread from the OP. Grow up you two....Life is way too short...!
  14. Dave, Bruce has a great idea...Go Two Way and never look back as your Eliptracs are perfect for it...... W. C.
  15. Michael, You might want to Browse through this..... http://sound.westhost.com/articles/capacitors.htm
  16. Onkyo PR5508 - I can personally vouch for this one......!
  17. Dolphin, What exactly are you looking for as it relates to the MCM 1900's? I have the setups in both three way and four way configurations. The schematics that have been provided are for seperate crossovers, that were manufactured to accompany the speaker stacks. Are you looking for information on the MSM or MSSM Midrange Horns? As mentioned earlier the HF Tweeters (MTM, MMTM) were offered in two different types and they had individual crossovers in each one of them. There were NOT any four woofer stacks offered. There were single or double bass bins with a single driver in the single and two drivers in the double bass bin. If you have two double bass bins per side, there would be four drivers but this was not a common set up that I know of, unless it was a huge stage production, then there were NO limits as to what was 'Stacked".. Please be just a little more detailed and we can help you. Thanks, W. C. Charlotte, NC
  18. Jenn, Is there a stamp in the wood somewhere on the back? Most Rebels were manufactured under license by Klipsch by Cabinart and there should be a stamp in the wood somewhere. Hope this helps, W. C.
  19. I've been using S.A.E. 02 series of amps for over 30 years. Have not found a better SS amp for Klipsch speakers and I have tried a few. These amps were built with very high quality and I have never had a minutes trouble with any of them. They can be had on eBay for very reasonable prices and it might be worth a try. There are quite a few places where they can be serviced, IF it is ever needed.......YMMV W. C.
  20. Excellent advice....! I don't play Guitar but I do do woodwinds and my formal learning started in High School...well actually that darn Flute thingy they give you in the 4th or 5th grade..... Got a Saxaphone when I was ten and have been doing reeds ever since. One on one teaching is by far the best method and it will get you into a regular schedule. Get the basics down and go from there. The Internet thing is nice but leaving it up to yourself to schedule time and practicing will make it harder, IMO. It is NEVER too late to learn a new trick....!
  21. Link....? There is a bunch of mogami stuff on the bay.....
  22. Price, Pictures and Location are really needed and then you will get more information than you ever planned on. The armchair appraisers will follow..........November of 88 and number 676 and 763 for that year. Shame they are not consecutive. Do they have any Sound Company markings on them anywhere?
  23. Larry, The Mineral Spirits will remove the lacquer and actually "Lift" the stain. Homer Formby's refinishing kit consist of 4/0 Steel Wool and Mineral Spirits labeled as Homer's "Special Formula". Believe me, I have used this method for 40 years and it will get you back to the natural wood, just takes time. I have not found it to attack the glue used in the veneer process. The key is doing it in layers and not dousing it in the Mineral Spirits. A lot of people think more is better, but not in this case, that is why it takes so much time to refinish something.....Lots of rubbing. It is the same way when you apply the Watco, you must do it in layers and if you wet sand with 600 grit betwen them you will get a finish you can be proud of. I'm sure that others have their own method, this particular one just works for me....YMMV[] W. C.
  24. Larry, If you have a spot on the back of the speaker where you can experiment, try some 4/0 Steel Wool with Mineral Spirits. You might likr what you end up with then you can re-oil them with some Watco. W. C.
