  1. You can buy the two way Jubilee for a lot less than that from Klipsch.
  2. Well at least two out of three people in this thread can spell skeptical...............
  3. As always, those are beautiful. Unfortunately, not everyone has your skills.......... Shakey
  4. Let's steer this one back on course a bit, shall we? Any more testimonials to Volti upgrades, or other 2" horn/driver combos? Shakey
  5. First questions. Has anyone ever tried removing the passive radiators and sealing the back of Forte II's? Don't do it is my advice. Second question. Should I buy ALK Engineering Crossovers or Bob Crites Crossovers for my Forte II's? ALK
  6. Thanks for the reply. I'm torn between upgrading the khorns and just going for a set of jubilees from Cory. I really don't want to biamp, that's one of the negatives for me. Shakey
  7. Thanks for the reply. Can you share what specific improvements you heard? Thx
  8. Who here have replaced drivers and horns from Greg? Looking for some opinions. Or are there other drop in options? I already have his crossovers. Shakey
  9. My guess would be if you have crates custom made and ship them from one coast to the other by freight, approximately 800.00. Shakey
  10. Thanks moray. That is certainly the permanent fix that I will recommend. I had already pointed him to bob's site. Any suggestions for a short term fix so he can listen for a few days?
  11. I have a friend who just scored a pair of chorus Is. Only problem is both binding posts on one speaker are sheared off at the terminal cup. For the time being he is trying to use alligator clips and a jumper, but this is not working great. Any ideas for a short term and long term fix? He sent me pics and it appears the xover is mounted directly on the cup, not a simple thing. Shakey
  12. That's a good price and I like the table design. But I suspect that Project arm would be the bottleneck...... Shakey
  13. My wife and I married 13 years ago. She knew about my hobby (sickness?) going in. We shopped for a house with the main criteria being a dedicated listening room. Since that time there have been no fewer than 19 different pairs of speakers to revolve through this room. She has never as much as batted an eye. I not only feel very fortunate, but also a little sad for others who don't have that type of allowance from their mate. Shakey

    Jokes?

Another car audio guy here. I remember meeting Richard Clark before he built his Grand National. He had a cadillac that sounded mighty fine. He was always an Alpine guy. For me it was mostly Soundstream and Precision Power. Shakey
  15. 35.00 is more than reasonable to me. Shakey
  16. We certainly are a bunch of old farts around here.........🙄

    Don't quit yer day job............😛
  18. You are never going to get good sound with speakers positioned as such. You might as well go to BB and get something cheap, the end result will be close. Shakey
  19. Congrats on the purchase. They are indeed great speakers. Hopefully you will decide to give them something better than that Denon. They deserve it. Shakey
  20. How much do these posters from @MetropolisLakeOutfitters go for? I'd like to have one. Shakey
  21. I can tell you this. I bought a pair of Bob's C version Cornscalas and kept them about a year. Paid 1800.00 or so. I sold them a year later for 1400.00. That might be a fluke, right time - right buyer. But that was my experience. Shakey
  22. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the above...........
  23. I guess there is no accounting for taste. I had the C version with ALK xovers. Not even close to my khorns. I also preferred the Forte III over them. Good overall speakers though. Shakey
