You can change the resolution setting in your phone. Often they exceed the 2mg limit on the Forum

Mark, Beautiful speakers!

RoboKlipsch By way of explanation, when I joined the Forum and disclosed that I had a BOSE Wave Radio and a pair of 901 's, some of the more outspoken (dare I say "rude" JimJimbo?) went on for weeks about BOSE. GLWS

Transcendent preamp, grounded Grid by Rosenblit
eth2 replied to eth2's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Excellent strategy or lucky, it doesn't matter either way since it appears that you were able to successfully use the Wyetek Ruby to divert the mounting attention being given to the Grounded Grid preamp while you negotiated its purchase. And to think that I almost linked the Audiogon listing to your pre amplifier thread. For $475 shipped, it was too good to pass up.Now following A1UC's logic, my "footwork" in acquiring this fine piece should raise its price by at least $600. So...any offers for $1,000? A1UC??? How about it? -
Nah, not me. A1UC already has too much of my money.

Transcendent preamp, grounded Grid by Rosenblit
eth2 replied to eth2's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
The only mods mine has are the recommended stepped volume control, quality M- caps & vintage Amperex tubes (Bugle Boy) -
I bought a used Grounded Grid preamp, preassembled. It is DEAD quiet and sounds quite nice. It is also very light. I replaced a Cary, which has significantly more power, but is not as quiet. Also, the Cary has a headphone output, balance controls, muting, remote control, etc. Nonetheless, this is a very nice sounding preamp. A new kit is $499, plus there are some recommended mods such as a better volume control which mine has.

Cary 2002 tube preamp. The face of the preamp is discolored as you can see in the picture. I think the previous owner used a cleaner that resulted in the difference in hue. Otherwise, it looks and sounds fine. I have used it with my Quicksilver mid-monos in my bedroom through Fortes and the sound is great. Remote control Shipping at actual cost. $680

Audio Classics is crazy expensive.

15k would be too high if PWK came and set them up personally.(not likely to happen now)

I think I spend more being mostly retired, if you don't count things like mortgage payments, which most people have paid off by later in life. There is more time to do things, travel, and pursue hobbies and piss away money. Also, things like health insurance that was mostly paid for by employers is now all on me until I hit Medicare age, which is awhile off.

Real swingers!

I have some Wing C SED KT88 and like them very much. I find they sound better to my tin ear than the Tung Sol's they replaced

even with AIUC's "footwork" charge, they still would be a good deal.
