  4. At 25 you may be past or at your peak now, better enjoy it. And when your 30 you will think 40 is on your way down, and over and over each 10 years. Then your dead, have responsible fun NOW and try not to stop. I only say responsible fun because irresponsible fun can end the whole process. Our 3 kids are roughly 10 years older than you, and were having fun, actually more now, people do not look at old people as the troublemakers, thanks young people. Oh yea dtel.....I know all to well about that "irresponsibe fun" and what thougt was fun......well looking back at it, I don't think so...I am lucky to be alive :-)

  15. That is nuts. mustang you right, you would need to hire people for that. About 1.5 years ago my landlords brother (Bill) passed. My landlord(Fred-he owns my shop) told me the widow is trying to sell all the stuff Bill had. So one weekend I meet Fred over the house. Nancy (the widow) meet us at the door, into the houe we go. Just looking around the house I new this was going to be a treasure hunt. Well I was there for the tools that Fred told me about. But the 1st thing I spotted was a big vintage Velodyne 18" sub. There was some b/s gear stacked on it. It was'nt hooked up just sittin there. No other real audio stuff just the sub. So I started to check this beast out and Nancy asked me if I new what it was. So I told what it was, I rattled off the specs, how old it was and how much it cost new. Fred said "you are real close I was there when Bill bought it". Nancy's eyes got big and she said "so you know a lot about .........stereo stuff......." I told her I know a bit.....I am not the knower of "ALL". Nancy looks at Fred and said " wait till he gets down-stairs! Now I'm there for tools and this has now taken a turn..........Down to the basement we go......Yes my heart was pumping. In the basement it was true CHAOS........It was unreal. I did not know where to start. There was stuff stacked on stuff stacked on stuff!!! A lot of cool gear and some b/s stuff. I'm talking Altec, EV, AR's, ADS, Carver, Marantz, Pioneer, Kenwood......all from amps to recevers to horns-woofers to complete speakers to reel to reel. WOW.......it was so much......She wanted it all gone. She had no clue what it was worth. I told her I would help her with this. The plan was I would bring all to my house(many trips) to see what worked and what did not. For my work she said we can split the money. That was fine but I wanted one set of speakers, the big Altec 1202b's. So she made some $$$$ I got some Altec's all was good. I ended up trading the Altec's that's how I got one set of my KP-362's Now you ask what about the tools? I ended up buying the whole lot. Yea all, from full toolboxes to big plastic bins full of tools to 3 mini metal lathes(two were the Atlas lathes from the early 70's).......and the big South-Bend in the corner OH YEA! It was a good day. :-)
  16. How about this style Well the first set I was looking at feel through, no big deal. So I was on the Craigs List the other day looking for stuff I don't need, you got it...........came accross another set. So I called my man and had a good chat about audio stuff. He was a pro-audio sound guy and new quite a bit. He was out of the buisness and was clearing out a bunch of stuff. So my wife and I closed the shop early, and took a drive to PA. It was about 1.5 hours, not to bad. We got there and down to the basement we go. Well he did have a good bit of gear, just one set of Klipsch some kg-4's. He told me he did own some LaScala's, KLF's over the years and did like the Klipsch sound So we powerd up the EV's with a Caver TFM-35x he had hooked up. Listend to a few songs with about 30 watts hitting them. "OK" good sound but if you guys have read my posts you know I'm into my Chorus I's Chorus II's and my KP 362's pushing them with over 300 watts of Carver power. So I said let's get that Carver working. The TFM-35x is rated @ 250 watts and he put that to them-and some..........Well let me say..........WOW........ Hard hittin chest thumpin all the way. I like em, so did the wife. The price was $300 for the pair, both were in great shape. Not all beat-up like most used pro-gear. So the deal was done. The Carver was also for sale but I passed on it. But I did spot a nice Crown 1010 amp. It looked really nice, 275 watts 8 ohms. So yea I snagged that for $150 bucks. Well to sum this up the EV's with the Crown amp are a great combo, imho. Now I'm not here to wave the EV banner.......cuz......this is the Klipsch forum and I do LOVE me some Klipsch, I just think me and the wife did good. Let's face it my Klipsch friends when you can tell your wife we are closing the shop early, driving 100+ miles, spending $450 bucks on audio equipment and she likes it........it's good no matter what you buy :-) Take care all Mark.......
  17. Still got your Carver 1.5t? Most all my Kilpsch are driven with Bob Carver power. Enjoy you new Forte II's :-)
