  1. I seriously think the world has lost their minds... http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-BOSE-SOUNDDOCK-PORTABLE-TRAVEL-BAG-CARRYING-CASE-/390354334565?pt=US_MP3_Player_Cases_Covers_Skins&hash=item5ae2ee7365 ...
  2. You can try splicing and/or soldering a new DIN plug on, but some have said that may not work right. Finding that DIN might also be a hassle. The recommendation from Klipsch would be to buy a new control pod. Those run about $39 shipped (but are cheaper on eBay if you can find one). Unless you still have a warranty.
  3. Hey Chad, you might look into the Spam Assassin mod. I don't know if it's still being updated for IPS 3.4...but I know when I was running my own Invision forum we used that in connection with the built in spam filtration. Might give it a check. I think it was a one time fee of $25.
  4. Thanks for that. I've only ever used speaker cables from Rocketfish. Maybe I'll check it out, I mean worst case scenario I guess I can return it too. Just trying to avoid the hassle.
  5. I'm at a point where I'm moving the subwoofer around one of the bedrooms, and the location that it's likely going to have to be in is not easily accessible with a wire. This is one of the Polk DSW PRO440wi's I own...however, the Polk wireless kit appears to have some rather poor feedback, and I'm not so sure I'd like to go that route because of this. Does anyone know some other products or wireless transmitters that would effectively do the job? Would one of the generic Rocketfish transmitters work? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/rocketfish-wireless-subwoofer-transmitter-receiver-kit/6965266.p?id=1218817520479&skuId=6965266
  6. Your post gets a like just because of the thread title... *enters/exits*
  7. So are you asking me to think of three key essentials of business, or ones that relate directly to the musical counterpart? If the former, I'd think Innovation, productivity and sales. If the later I'd think Teamwork, honesty and consistency. ETA: Ahhh I was close...looks like it's paid off being the youngest in a family of musicians.
  8. Think about certain elements inherent in music itself Melody, Harmony and Rhythm? Not sure the if/how the first translates to business though.
  9. It appears to be a legitimate Klipsch sticker. I've seen some floor models of the new reference series sporting white tags - the older Gen I Reference series also used white-face labels. You could also call Klipsch for serial validation too perhaps. But I am rather confident you've got a legit product.
  10. Got that right. Lord help us if she ever gets together with a diamond supplier or Bose.
  11. I'd love to have it, but even the RC-3 and 35 I have are too big for the spaces that house them. I hate letting opportunities like this slip.
  12. You got me...lol Unless it has to do with each fork being a branch of Yamaha's influence...i.e. Auto, A/V, Instruments.
  13. Would actually be $48 shipped, as I have a gift card. Thanks for the replies!
  14. In August I'll be in St. Louis, that's about my southern limit. lol Guess you'll have to see about Gorm's super-awesome packing and shipping.
  15. My favorite is the Russian leaders one: I laughed so hard I died a little inside...
  16. Man, after last winter, I'm about ready to move down there to y'all for the next 6 months. lol
  17. I'm close, but have no plans to head down Texas way if that's the Houston you're referring to. lol
  18. That's part of running the fronts with an unrestricted range, and also something that can be remedied by a good sub or two. It's similar to the settings of having the speakers set to large or small... This is a pretty good article on that, including the LG/SM settings: http://www.ecoustics.com/articles/set-speakers-small-receiver-setup/
  19. I agree with this. 80 Hz is the industry standard, and it's not that way just because it's a standard, but it's proven to lighten the load on the speakers and allow them to do what they do best. The subwoofer cut runs up to 80 Hz and beyond for a reason. I promise, if you put a decent sub in, and let it handle 80 Hz down, it'll blow away anything you think you hear now at 40 Hz.
  20. I'm working on swapping out some Polks in one of the bedrooms with a pair of RB-25's (which arrived today). The Polks I had been using were small enough to sit on top of a dresser that also had the TV. In this new configuration, I'm planning on moving the sub to the rear (where there's space to actually keep it without it being damaged), and moving the speakers to stands. (I'll also be adding a small center channel.) At any rate...my next thing now is to find speaker stands. Does anyone have a recommendation on where I could get some nice, but reasonably priced speaker stands for a pair of RB-25's? Would these be any good? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008O05UGW/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1Q5TXAPOS7WLS
  21. Twas pure sarcasm my friend. I've dealt with listening to him and Seven Lions against my will in hour long car rides from campus the last two years...and those car rides are exactly why we now use my car. I just don't understand the appeal of dubstep. If people are so happy with electronic sounds, trance music was just fine.
  22. Mozart +1... What's a Skrillex? Sounds painful.
  23. I don't understand what you mean by that. If the end game is an upgrade to Reference anyway, and reference fits the budget, why wouldn't you go with it? I'll keep looking on CL, but it is pretty bare right now. Use SearchTempest...it'll give you better results over a wider area.
